Programs, Campus and Residence

  • The Open University is recognized for its research center. 72% of research undertaken at the Open University was assessed as internationally excellent and world-leading.
  • The university has till date awarded 163 doctoral degrees.
  • Each student is allowed to choose his or her own module, which is available at the official website of the university.
  • The teaching method includes recorded lectures DVD.
  • The courses are linked with a credit score or Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS), each module has some score and a student needs up to 300 credits for having any degree.
  • There are different courses according to the need of every student which includes part-time courses, full-time courses, research faculties on site and on campus, specialization courses, etc.
  • The credit scores also imply to the number of weeks or time spent on a particular score and each kind of course i.e. either part-time or full time requires some minimum credit score.
  • A credit score of around 120 means a year of study hence a student is advised not to undertake more than 60 credits a year. Special permission is required to take more than 120 credit score year.
  • The university also has a vast number of faculties, which includes faculty of science, engineering, business management, arts, mathematics, education, language, and media.
