Northumbria University is a public university whose history dates back to the year 1894. The main campus of the university is located in Newcastle, United Kingdom. The two other campuses of the university are located in London and Amsterdam.

Northumbria University Admission Deadline

Applications for the undergraduate courses are accepted mostly via UCAS portal. The deadlines for UCAS applications are fixed. Any application submitted after the deadlines will only get reviewed in case of vacancies.

For postgraduate studies, applications must be submitted directly through the online Northumbria University portal. Applications have separate intake season and deadlines from the UCAS portal. The application deadlines for the UG and PG admissions are :

English Language Proficiency for International Students

One of the critical admission requirements for international applicants is to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. At the UG level, the university offers three types of degrees: BA(Hons), BSc (Hons), and BEng(Hons). Prospective applicants can choose from over 100 UG degree programs. The admission process and requirements for all the degree programs are similar.

Northumbria University Graduate Admissions

Northumbria University offers 150+ postgraduate certificate and master’s courses to all graduate applicants. Apart from that, the university also offers 11 postgraduate distance learning courses. Visa Process for International Students

Applicants will receive a CAS or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies after getting accepted at the Northumbria University. They can then proceed to acquire a Tier 4 General Visa.

All courses of Northumbria University with a minimum of 6 months of study duration require a Tier 4 visa. The earliest date to apply for a study visa is 3 months before the date of the commencement of the course. Below listed are the documents that should be submitted by the student to acquire a Tier 4 visa:

  • Passport
  • Proof of Financial Ability
  • Proof of Parental/Legal guardian consent if below 18
  • Proof of relationship with parent/guardian if below 18
  • Tuberculosis Test Results(if applicable)

In addition to the supporting documents, applicants are required to pay the £348 visa fee.
