If an applicant does not meet the requirements specified by the university then he/she may join the foundation courses. Also, if the candidate has completed a higher-level educational qualification it can be transferred to one of the undergraduate courses and the student can enjoy the flexibility to join in the second or third year.

English Proficiency Requirement for International Students

Candidates whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate english proficiency. University accepts IELTS score for undergraduate, postgraduate and foundation programs. The University also provides pre-sessional English courses to meet the entry requirements.

Visa Process for International Students

Candidates from outside the EEA are required to have a tier 4 visa but they may also apply for short term student visa. The application process for visa starts after receiptation of a Confirmation of Acceptance to Study from the University.

The steps for obtaining CAS are as follows:

  1. The visa information form will be mailed to the applicant. The applicant must decide in advance whether he/she wishes to work while studying or not if the course has such an option. This will have an effect on the visa.
  2. There are a number of documents that must be submitted by the applicant including financial evidence showing sufficient availability of funds, evidence of previous study, passport, police registration certificate and translations of documents if they are not in English.
  3. The financial evidence has to be submitted by the applicant which must show the necessary amount for 28 days. This amount should include minimum 1 year course fees, living costs and accommodation.
  4. The CAS will be issued only if the unconditional offer is not more than 3 months old before the date of commencement of course.
  5. The University will mail the CAS to the applicant so that they can initiate the visa process.

Oxford Brookes University Undergraduate Admissions

Undergraduate courses in the UK lead to first degree commonly known as the bachelor’s degree. Degrees offered by Oxford Brookes University include BA, BEng, BSc, BmedSc and LLB. The duration of these courses varies from 3 to 4 years with a work placement.

Admission Requirement: Following qualifications are accepted by university for undergraduate admission:

  • Acceptable passes in five subjects (exceptionally four subjects) at GCSE or GCE including:
    • one 12-unit vocational A-level, or
    • two A-levels or two 6-unit vocational A-levels, or
    • one A-level or 6-unit vocational A-level plus two AS-levels, or
    • two 3-unit vocational A-levels *
  • A National Certificate or Diploma at a good standard.
  • The International Baccalaureate Diploma (minimum of 24 points) or the European Baccalaureate Diploma (minimum of 60%).
  • Five subjects in SCE with two at Higher level or one at Advanced Higher level.
  • Three subjects in Scottish Highers or two at Advanced Higher level.
  • Any other qualifications considered by the Academic Board to be of equivalent standard.
  • A recognised access course

Oxford Brookes University Postgraduate Admission

Oxford Brookes University offers taught and research programs at postgraduate level. A minimum of a first-class or upper second-class UK honours degree or equivalent is required for admission to MPhil programs.
