Oxford Brookes University offers 30+ scholarships, of which 10+ are accessible to Indian applicants for 2026/27 entry.

Awards cover flat tuition discounts, subject-specific PG bursaries, MBA diversity funding, PhD studentships, and UK government routes. Amounts range from £2,000 (INR 2.56 Lakhs) to £10,000 (INR 12.80 Lakhs), before stacking with external Chevening or Commonwealth grants.

  • Standard 2026/27 Oxford Brookes University Global MBA tuition: £19,950 (INR 25.54 Lakhs)
  • With the £4,000 Global Diversity MBA Scholarship: £15,950 (INR 20.42 Lakhs)
  • With the £10,000 GREAT Scholarship stacked on the £2,000 September ISS: £7,950 (INR 10.18 Lakhs) after both awards on a taught master’s
  • Next deposit deadline for the automatic £2,000 September Entry Scholarship: 7 July 2026 (for offers dated 1 April to 4 June 2026)

Currency Note: All INR conversions use the live rate of 1 GBP = INR 128.02 as of August 2026. A "CAS" is the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies document that a UK university issues after you accept your offer and pay the deposit.

Oxford Brookes Business School International Student Scholarship£2,000 per year (INR 2.56 Lakhs)UG only, one of 13 named OBBS programs, September 2026 startSame cascade as the September Entry ISS

The September Entry award is the default route for a new Indian undergraduate. It is applied automatically to your second-semester tuition once the deposit clears, so no separate scholarship form is filed.

The £2,000 OBBS Scholarship covers a curated list of business programs, including Accounting and Economics, Business and Marketing Management, Digital Marketing, and International Business Management. This award repeats in each year of study.

Only one Oxford Brookes internal award applies per year, so the CAS-Ready £3,000 replaces the £2,000 ISS if you qualify for both.

September Entry International Student Scholarship£2,000 (INR 2.56 Lakhs)Any full-time PG program (1 to 2 years) except foundation, pathway, and exchange courses13 May to 7 August 2026 (offer-date dependent)

MA Global Development and Humanitarian Practice offers the single highest internal PG award at £9,250 (INR 11.84 Lakhs). Only one recipient is chosen each cycle, so the personal statement carries most of the decision weight.

The ACCA discount of £4,800 (INR 6.14 Lakhs) brings the ACCA MBA fee to £15,150 (INR 19.39 Lakhs) for 2026/27. That is the lowest confirmed university-side tuition path for a working Indian finance professional.

Reddit Insight: Indian applicants report on international student forums that missing the deposit cascade date disqualifies the automatic £2,000 September ISS. Clear the deposit inside 30 days of accepting the offer to stay eligible.

India-Specific Scholarships at Oxford Brookes University

ScholarshipValue (INR)Eligibility for Indian ApplicantsDeadline
GREAT Scholarship India (Oxford Brookes route)£10,000 (INR 12.80 Lakhs)Indian nationals holding an offer for any taught master’s at Oxford Brookes; funded by British Council and the UK GovernmentTentative late February 2027 (2027-28 cycle; 2026-27 window closed May 2026)
September Entry ISS (India cohort)£2,000 (INR 2.56 Lakhs)Any private-fee Indian UG or PG applicant with an offer letterCascade dates through 7 August 2026
Global Diversity MBA (India cohort)£4,000 (INR 5.12 Lakhs)India appears on the UN Development Index list published for the MBA award1 September 2026

Oxford Brookes does not run a passport-restricted India-only bursary. The GREAT Scholarship is the closest India-labelled award, with only 12 seats allocated across the UK for Indian nationals each year.

Indian applicants pursuing a taught master’s should treat the GREAT + September ISS stack as the target combination. GREAT is external and the ISS is university-issued, so both can apply.

Reddit Insight: Indian applicants on cross-country UK forums note that Oxford Brookes typically receives one to two GREAT nominations per year. That makes the flat £10,000 award more predictable than a scholarship-heavy university like the University of Oxford.

Oxford Brookes University PhD Scholarships

StudentshipCoverageFacultyDeadline (2026)
Detection and Analysis of Advanced Phishing Attacks (DAAPA)Fully funded (tuition + stipend), 3 yearsSchool of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics6 July 2026 (September 2026 start)
Nigel Groome Studentship: Battery Degradation and SOX Estimation for EV ApplicationsFully funded (tuition + stipend), 3 yearsSchool of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics5 June 2026 (September 2026 start)

HEALS: Heat, Health and LearningFully funded (tuition + stipend), 3 yearsInterdisciplinary (Health and Life Sciences)31 May 2026 (September 2026 start)

All four studentships are open to international applicants, including Indian nationals. Stipend rates track the UKRI band of £20,780 (INR 26.60 Lakhs) per year for 2025/26, with an annual uplift expected for 2026/27.

Apply directly through the guidance in each project advert, not via the general PhD portal. Contact rdt-researchdegrees@brookes.ac.uk before submitting to confirm your research fit with the named supervisor.

Before you apply, confirm the following:

  • Your master’s grade maps to at least a UK 2:1 equivalent (60% or above for Indian applicants)
  • You have a named supervisor who has agreed in writing to back your project
  • You can meet visa financial requirements above the stipend, since London-band caps do not apply in Oxford

Self-funded Indian doctoral applicants may still request tuition consideration under the university’s Vice-Chancellor’s discretionary fund, which is not published as a fixed award.

External Government Scholarships for Oxford Brookes University Applicants

ScholarshipValue (INR)Eligibility for IndiaDeadline
Chevening Scholarship (FCDO, UK Government)Full tuition + £1,093/month (INR 1.40 Lakhs/month) + return airfareIndian citizen, 2,800 hours of work experience, admission to three UK master’s programs, one-year master’s only6 October 2026 (2027-28 cycle)

GREAT Scholarship India (British Council)£10,000 tuition (INR 12.80 Lakhs)Indian citizen with an unconditional offer for a taught master’s at this universityTentative late February 2027 (annual cycle)
Inlaks Shivdasani ScholarshipUp to USD 100,000 (INR 82 Lakhs) combined tuition and livingIndian citizens under 30 with first-class honours; master’s or doctoralTentative early April 2027 (annual cycle; 2026 window closed March 2026)
JN Tata Endowment Loan-ScholarshipUp to INR 10 Lakhs interest-free loan + INR 1 Lakh giftIndian citizen going abroad for a full-time master’s or doctoralTentative 25 January 2027 (annual cycle)

Chevening carries the highest total value for a taught master’s, but the two years of work experience filter rules out most fresh graduates. Applicants sitting at 4+ years of experience treat it as the primary target.

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship also runs at Oxford Brookes for selected programs, but the university has to nominate the program each cycle. Confirm current shared-scholarship status with the Global Recruitment team before applying.

Common documentation across UK government scholarships:

  • Two academic or professional references submitted through the funder portal
  • Personal statement of 500 to 750 words on career goals
  • Proof of financial need declaration (Commonwealth only)
  • Confirmed offer for the target UK master’s program before final selection

JN Tata is a loan-scholarship rather than a grant, so build it into a funding stack only after tuition awards are secured.

Oxford Brookes University Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. What is the maximum scholarship stack an Indian student can build at Oxford Brookes University for a taught master’s?

Ans. The realistic ceiling is Chevening (full tuition + monthly stipend) or a GREAT + September ISS combination worth £12,000 (INR 15.36 Lakhs). Chevening covers the whole cost, so it is the top of the stack. The GREAT route is capped at £10,000 (INR 12.80 Lakhs) tuition, with the £2,000 (INR 2.56 Lakhs) auto ISS adding on.

Ques. When should Indian applicants apply for Oxford Brookes University scholarships to hit every window?

Ans. File the university admission application by December 2026 for a September 2027 start. This gives you an offer letter in time for GREAT (late February 2027 window) and Chevening (October 2026 for the 2027-28 cycle). The September ISS deposit deadlines run from May to August 2027 for that intake.

Ques. Does the GREAT Scholarship India at Oxford Brookes University require a separate application?

Ans. Yes, you first secure an unconditional offer from the university for a taught master’s. Then apply through the dedicated GREAT form when the annual window opens. British Council selects one to two Indian awardees per year on Oxford Brookes recommendations.

Ques. What academic threshold does Oxford Brookes University look for on scholarship applications?

Ans. The internal £2,000 September ISS and OBBS awards have no minimum grade beyond the base offer conditions, since they are deposit-triggered. GREAT and Chevening expect a strong 2:1 equivalent, which maps to 60% or above for most Indian bachelor’s programs. Global Diversity MBA sits at the base MBA entry bar, typically 3 years of work experience.

Ques. Does an Oxford Brookes University scholarship cover Oxford living costs for Indian students?

Ans. The internal £2,000 and £3,000 awards are tuition-only, so they do not touch rent. Chevening and Commonwealth both add a monthly stipend of £1,093 (INR 1.40 Lakhs) and £1,452 (INR 1.86 Lakhs) respectively. A single-room Oxford tenancy runs £700 to £900 per month plus food, so these stipends cover both.

  • It's a private accommodation. You can find the accommodation from a letting agency, but you need to have documents and advance payment funds, and you may need a guarantor in some cases, as we are new to the country and financial transactions involving the accommodation. And it's usually best to buy university accommodation, as we can build connections.

  • According to the current market situation, there are very few students who secure their jobs in 6 months, considering experience in a particular field. Some wait for years, some wait for months and some can get it within days; it totally depends on your passion, experience and luck.
  • Salary is also dependent mostly on the roles and experience so it can't be generalized, but typically it can range from 25k to 40k annually. There are different portals or social media platforms for all of the fields where students mostly apply, mainly Linkedin, Indeed, etc.

  • Getting accommodation in Oxford is really difficult; you should book everything 6 months in advance or start looking a minimum of 3 months prior.
  • If you don't want to struggle at the last moment. Students need to show their income or parents' income to get accommodation from letting agents.
  • Choose your roommate appropriately.

  • To be very honest, getting a full-time job in the UK is really hard. Around 10% of students secure jobs within 6 months. The average salary range is 22000 pounds to 50000 pounds but it becomes really hard to secure the job because of your visa status.
  • You can look for jobs on LinkedIn and company websites but try to get referrals. The highest salary you can expect is 30000 as a fresher but can easily go up to 50000 pounds.

Scholarship

There are lots of scholarships available from different colleges within the university. Financial scholarships are probably the most common

For academic reasons. It is one of the best universities in the world. They have a large Russian department and a research program for experts in the field. They give you the chance to attend very small classes (1 or 2 people).
