Leeds Beckett University admissions accept Indian students at Class XII 65% for undergraduate entry and a Bachelor’s degree at 50% for postgraduate entry. The institutional English floor sits at IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in each band, and September 2026 is the primary intake most Indian applicants target.

  • Next deadline: September 2026 primary intake is on rolling direct applications; the university recommends submitting by early August 2026.
  • Base tuition: £16,840 to £19,060 (₹21.53 to ₹24.36 Lakhs) per year, with no application fee for direct applications.
  • Eligibility floor: UG needs Class XII 65% (or 70% for select states); PG needs Bachelor’s 50% and IELTS 6.0.
  • Acceptance rate: estimated 68 to 80%; the university does not publish an official institutional figure.

Indian applicants pick MSc Data Science, MSc Advanced Computer Science, and the 20-month Graduate MBA at Leeds Beckett University. Recent cohorts note Yorkshire’s lower living costs, a 94% graduate employability rate, and the university’s access-oriented admissions style.

Admission Status: Open. The September 2026 primary intake at Leeds Beckett University is accepting direct applications on a rolling basis via the Applicant Portal. Most programmes take late applications until mid-August 2026, though MSc Data Science and the MBA fill earlier. No application fee is charged for direct undergraduate or postgraduate applications. The UCAS undergraduate cycle for September 2027 entry opens on 12 September 2026 with the equal-consideration deadline on 13 January 2027.

Leeds Beckett University Application Deadlines for Indian Students

Leeds Beckett runs a September primary intake and a smaller January secondary intake, with direct international applications reviewed on a rolling basis rather than fixed rounds. The university advises applying at least three months before course start so there is enough runway for the CAS letter, visa, and travel. UCAS undergraduate applicants follow the standard UK-wide equal-consideration calendar per the official Leeds Beckett international application process page.

Leeds Beckett University Eligibility Criteria for Indian Students

Leeds Beckett publishes a single country-specific entry benchmark for India, applicable across most taught programmes. The floors below cover the institution-wide minimum; some programmes stretch these expectations, particularly business, law, and health-adjacent MSc courses.

  • UG general entry: Class XII (CBSE, ICSE, or State Board) at 65% aggregate for most Indian states.
  • UG state exceptions: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh applicants need 70% aggregate.
  • PG general entry: Bachelor’s degree at 50% aggregate, equivalent to a UK 2:2 (2.5 GPA on a 3.0 scale).
  • Foundation pathway: Class XII at 75% with IELTS 4.5 admits into the International Foundation Year, feeding UG in the following cycle.

English proficiency is checked against a list of accepted tests. Standard institutional floors apply unless the individual course page states higher. Accepted tests and minimums come from the official Leeds Beckett English language requirements page.

Test Institutional Minimum Component Minimum
IELTS Academic 6.0 overall 5.5 in each skill
TOEFL iBT 4.0 overall R 18, L 17, S 20, W 17
PTE Academic 54 overall 51 in each component

Leeds Beckett University IELTS Waiver for Indian Students

Indian applicants with 70% or higher in CBSE Class XII English or CISCE (ICSE / ISC) Class XII English qualify for the standard IELTS waiver at Leeds Beckett. The English marksheet is submitted alongside the academic transcript, and the waiver is confirmed in the offer letter rather than at the enquiry stage. Programmes that publish a higher English floor (some LLM and healthcare MSc courses) may still request a formal test.

Undergraduate portfolios are concentrated in three-year Honours degrees, with sandwich options that add a year-long industry placement. Base international tuition is £16,840 (₹21.53 Lakhs) per year across most bachelor’s programmes. Indian applicants tend to enter through computing, business, and sport-related courses, which offer strong graduate outcomes.

Leeds Beckett University MBA Admissions for Indian Students

The Graduate MBA at Leeds Business School runs as a 20-month part-time programme designed for working professionals, delivered through weekend and evening block teaching. It is one of the more competitive Leeds Beckett postgraduate entries because it screens for work experience alongside academic credentials. Base tuition for 2026-27 entry is around £17,300 (₹22.11 Lakhs) for international applicants, fixed for each year of the programme. See the Graduate MBA at Leeds Beckett for programme-specific detail.

Leeds Beckett University MBA Entry Requirements

The core academic minimum is a Bachelor’s degree at a UK 2:2 (around 50% Indian equivalent), or professional experience judged as equivalent by the admissions team. Applicants without a Bachelor’s degree can still be considered where they hold substantial managerial or specialist experience. GMAT and GRE are not required at Leeds Beckett; English proficiency remains at IELTS 6.0 (5.5 in each band) or the CBSE/CISCE 70% English waiver.

Leeds Beckett University MBA Work Experience Expectations

The Graduate MBA typically expects a minimum of two to three years of full-time work experience, though there is no rigid cap on the upper end. The 20-month block format is engineered for candidates continuing to work while they study, which is why the experience floor is more strictly enforced than for the standard MSc business courses.

Leeds Beckett University Application Process for Indian Students

Indian applicants apply through one of two routes. Direct applications for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses go through the Leeds Beckett Applicant Portal. UCAS is available for undergraduate applicants who wish to include Leeds Beckett within a set of up to five UK universities. Both routes converge into the same academic assessment; the choice comes down to whether the applicant wants a UK-wide UCAS shortlist.

  1. Shortlist a course from the Leeds Beckett course finder and confirm eligibility against the country-specific entry table.
  2. Create an account on the Leeds Beckett Applicant Portal and select your intake.
  3. Upload academic certificates, English proof, passport bio page, and one academic or professional reference.
  4. Submit the personal statement (postgraduate) or complete UCAS Personal Statement (undergraduate UCAS route).
  5. Confirm submission - no application fee is charged for direct undergraduate or postgraduate applications. UCAS applicants pay UCAS’s own £34.50 (₹4,429) platform fee that covers up to five UK universities.
  6. Track the decision via the portal; conditional or unconditional offers usually arrive within four to six weeks.
  7. Accept the offer, pay any required deposit, and request the CAS letter to begin the UK Student Route visa application.

Applicants working with authorised education agents include the Agent Consent Form during submission so the university can share progress updates directly with the counsellor.

Documents Required for Leeds Beckett University Applications

Leeds Beckett expects a lean documentation set at the application stage - transcripts and English proof lead, with references and identity documents completing the file. All non-English documents must include a certified English translation showing the translator’s name, date, signature, and contact details.

  • Passport bio page: a clear colour scan of the photo page.
  • Academic transcripts: Class X and Class XII marksheets for UG; Bachelor’s transcript and consolidated marksheet for PG.
  • Degree certificate or provisional letter: required for PG applicants who have graduated.
  • English proficiency proof: IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, or Duolingo score report; or CBSE/CISCE Class XII English marksheet at 70% or higher for the MOI waiver.
  • Personal statement: a one-page rationale for the course choice and career objectives.
  • Academic or professional reference: one letter from a lecturer or line manager, on institutional letterhead.
  • Financial statement: bank statement or education-loan sanction letter demonstrating funds for tuition plus around £13,347 for nine months of living costs.
  • Previous UK visa: copies of any earlier UK visas, if applicable.
  • Agent Consent Form: only if applying through an authorised education agent.

Leeds Beckett University Acceptance Rate

Leeds Beckett does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Independent estimates from Indian counsellors and edtech portals place the figure in the 68 to 80% band, consistent with the university’s access-oriented admissions profile at the QS 1001 to 1200 ranking band. Course-level acceptance varies more sharply than the institution-wide figure.

Leeds Beckett University Acceptance Rate by Programme

Business courses (MSc Management, MSc International Business) sit at the higher end of the band because portfolios expand each cycle. Popular technical MSc courses - Data Science, Advanced Computer Science, Cyber Security - are the most competitive because caps are stricter, and they typically close their September cohorts several weeks before the term start. Access-track undergraduates and foundation-year applicants see the highest acceptance rates.

Leeds Beckett University Acceptance Rate for Indian Students

Indian applicants meeting the 65% Class XII floor for UG or a 50% Bachelor’s for PG, with the IELTS 6.0 (or MOI waiver), typically receive a conditional offer within four to six weeks. Rejection is usually driven by course-fit issues (wrong Bachelor’s discipline, thin personal statement) rather than academic thresholds.

Insider note: A 65% Class XII candidate is not competing with a 90% Class XII candidate at Leeds Beckett - the university admits on threshold, not on rank. A stronger academic transcript does not shorten decision time; a stronger personal statement does.

Leeds Beckett rewards early, well-fitted applications. Submit by early August 2026 for the September primary intake, hold the CBSE English marksheet ready for the IELTS waiver, and lock the personal statement around one named course rather than a UK-study intent.

Scholarship

  • Yeah, Leeds Beckett does offer scholarships for international students. When I applied, there was one based on academic performance—nothing super complicated. I got the International Postgraduate Scholarship, and the good part? It was applied automatically during the admission process. No extra forms or anything.
  • The amount I received was £3,000 and it was just deducted from my tuition fee directly. A few of my batchmates got the same one and I think some received around £2,500 to £3,000, depending on when they applied or their grades.
  • Most international students do get something if they meet the basic criteria. On average, I’d say the scholarships range from £1,000 to £3,000, but yeah, it can vary depending on your course and when you submit your application.

Scholarship

  • Yes, I did receive a scholarship of 2.5 lacs and that was given to me because my academic record was excellent. My scores for English language in particular for 12th grade were great. Hence, 2.5 lacs of the total fee was waived for me. Eligibility criteria vary from student to student, but if one is academically eligible, they are more likely to receive this scholarship.
  • Approx. 20000 students each year receive this scholarship and the typical amount varies between 1 lac and 5 lacs.

Scholarship

  • I did receive an automatic scholarship of 3000 GBP being an international student, and did receive another one later for 1500 GBP for excellence in academics in my Bachelors degree.
  • No, internationals did not receive any scholarships other than the international one ie. 3000 GBP one, but of course nationals do receive financial aid and student money from the UK government. I am not sure on this, but in order to get these scholarships, one has to be really sure about the university from the beginning filling out the applications for these scholarships.. as they usually start prior and has short deadline periods.

Scholarship

  • There are no scholarships for my course. However there are other ways and courses for which you can get scholarships.
  • I am unaware of them but you can easily find this information online. Or you can speak to staff from the university you're applying to and find more detailed information about scholarship programmes.
  • As mentioned my course does not offer scholarships nor did any of my batchmates receive any sort of waivers. I am also not aware of other scholarship programmes and the exact details about them.
