Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Goa (BITS-Goa), built in the memory of K. K. Birla, is a technical and science educational field located in Southern Goa. The academic structure is governed by parent institute BITS Pilani and admissions to various courses will be done on the basis of Entrance Exams – BITSAT and GATE. Recently it has signed a MOU with Texas University for improving the quality of higher education.

BITS Goa Admissions
BITS Goa admissions are purely done on the basis of merit scored by the candidate in the entrance test called BITSAT conducted by the Institute and Higher Degree Admission Test. Admissions to M.Phil. and Ph.D. research Programs are done on the basis of marks obtained by a candidate in their Master’s Degree Examination or equivalent.
Note: The Institute provides direct admission to board toppers from all over India. First rank students of all the central and state boards in India will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT score.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test/ interview for selections.
- Final selection is done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the Personal Interview conducted by the Institute.
- Selected candidates will be given financial assistance in the form of either a fellowship of any government agency or of the Institute, project or teaching assistantship, full/ partial tuition waiver or a combination of these.

BITS Goa Scholarships
Travel Scholarship: This Scholarships supports the travel expenses of students participating in academic events of International repute. BITSAA currently offers travel assistance under the following schemes:
Bhushan Bhatia Graduate App Scholarship: Bhushan Bhatia Graduate Application Scholarship provides financial assistance to BITSians for their applications to MS/PhD programs.
Project Scholarship: In the past BITSAA has supported the development of India’s First Humanoid ACYUT and its participation at international level competitions and conferences.
Paper Publication Assistance: This assistance comes from the endowment fund donated by the batch of 1966. Four grants, each worth Rs. 5,000 for undergrad students and two grants worth Rs. 10,000 each for post-graduate students are to be awarded for publishing papers in reputed journals.
Zero Percent Loan Scholarship: Zero percent loan scholarship is aimed at providing assistance for various academic purposes such as undergraduate studies at BITS, paper publication, attending international conferences, seminars and competitions, MS/ PhD applications etc.
BITSAA-BITSMUN Travel Scholarship: The BITSAA-BITSMUN Travel scholarship has been initiated with the purpose of supporting BITSians participating in leadership, public speaking, entrepreneurship events, both within India and abroad.
Student Project Funding: Student Project Funding is an initiative by BITSAA to help students working on challenging projects in raising funds through crowdfunding initiatives.

Library: Library has room for up to 8,000 students, offers 738 open access study places and 246 open-access IT work stations. As well as the books and periodicals you expect, it is home to computing facilities for students. Our collections contain over half a million items like around 3,000 current journal titles, over 20,000 electronic resources, including databases, journals and ebooks, substantial media (CD and DVD) collection etc.
Hostel: Separate Hostels for Boys and Girls with centralized AC, Gym, Security Service, Visitors Lounge, Solar Geyser, Entertainment Halls, Indoor Games, and Medical Facilities, Courts and Equipment for various Indoor and Outdoor games, Smart Classes with projector and internet facility to keep the students engaged in various Educational Activities.

About BITS Pilani

BITS Goa FAQs
Ques. What is the application procedure for NRIs?
Ans. There is no separate procedure for NRIs. However, those candidates who have citizenship other than INDIA can apply under International students admissions scheme.
Ques. Does any other university admit students based on BITSAT-2020 score?
Ans. Yes, there are other universities that admit students using BITSAT-2020 scores. All IIMs accept the score of BITSAT for admission in B.E., B.Pharm and M.Sc.
Ques. I have made a mistake while entering some data in my application form. How can I edit/correct it?
Ans. The link for editing the application form will be made available on the website during a certain period of time and you can edit the required fields during this period. No email queries will be entertained in this regard.
Ques. Am I eligible if I repeat some of the subjects to get the required 75% marks?
Ans. If you are repeating the 12th exam, you should do it for all the subjects to pass 12th again as mentioned in the BITSAT brochure. If you take improvement exams in PCM/PCB only, you are not eligible. I am unable to access the Online application.
