V-SAT (Vignans Scholastic Aptitude Test) is the universitys own entrance exam for B.Tech, B.Pharm, and other UG programmes. It is not mandatory. Candidates who have valid JEE Main scores or AP/TS EAMCET ranks can apply directly without appearing for V-SAT. V-SAT is the preferred route for candidates seeking VFSTR merit scholarships, since the top 50 V-SAT rankers receive a 75 percent tuition fee waiver.

The V-SAT 2026 application fee is INR 1,200. Candidates can appear multiple times during the January to April 2026 exam window. VFSTR considers the best score for rank and scholarship calculation.

Yes. VFSTR offers management quota and NRI/PIO sponsorship seats. Category B seats are available for candidates with 60 percent or above in 10+2, without needing an entrance exam rank. What is the minimum CAT percentile for VFSTR MBA?

VFSTR requires a minimum CAT 70th percentile for MBA shortlisting (as per 2024 Round 1 data). Candidates who do not meet the CAT cut-off may apply through AP ICET rank or MAT score of 500 plus. All shortlisted candidates must attend the GD and PI rounds conducted by the university.

Can I get into VFSTR M.Tech without a GATE score?

Yes. VFSTR accepts VUGATE (Vignans own PG entrance test) as an alternative to GATE for M.Tech admission. Candidates with 80 percent or above in their B.Tech degree are also eligible to appear for VUGATE. PGECET (AP Postgraduate Common Entrance Test) scores are also accepted.

Is there a scholarship for SC and ST students at VFSTR?

Yes. All SC and ST students admitted to UG and PG programmes at VFSTR receive an automatic 25 percent tuition fee waiver. This is in addition to any merit scholarship they may be eligible for. Government Post-Matric scholarships via the National Scholarship Portal are also available to SC/ST/OBC/EWS students.

What documents are needed for VFSTR admission?

Candidates must produce the following original documents at the time of admission: 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates, entrance exam rank card (V-SAT/JEE Main/EAMCET/GATE/ICET), transfer certificate, migration certificate (if from another state board), caste certificate (if applicable), and passport-size photographs. NRI and foreign national candidates must submit additional documentation as specified by the admissions office.

Can final-year students apply for VFSTR MBA or M.Tech?

Yes. Final-year graduation students may apply provisionally for MBA at VFSTR. For M.Tech, candidates in the final year of B.Tech may also apply provisionally. Admission is confirmed only after producing final mark sheets showing the required minimum aggregate.

How is the scholarship continued after the first year at VFSTR?

Merit scholarships at VFSTR are renewed annually. Students must pass all subjects in their first attempt, score 70 percent or above in the preceding year (7.0 CGPA), and have no pending fee dues. Scholarships are cancelled for that year if any of these conditions are not met.
