AI-Generated Summary based on 56 Reviews

Admissions to the B.Tech program in Electronics & Communication Engineering at North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) require candidates to clear the NERIST Entrance Exam (NEE). The institute offers three entry patterns: NEE-I for candidates who have passed class 10, NEE-II for those who have completed class 12 or an equivalent diploma, and NEE-III for diploma holders seeking lateral entry in the second year. Candidates can also apply through JEE Main scores.

Eligibility for NEE-I requires completion of 10th grade, while for NEE-II, candidates must have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB) with a minimum of 75%. Admission selection is based on rank from the entrance examination, where top candidates from northeastern states are prioritized. The application process involves an online form, and dates, along with application fees, are available on the university's website. The cutoffs for NEE are generally lower compared to JEE, making the exam pattern relatively easier.

The admission process at NERIST is straightforward, with students ranked by exam scores selecting departments in successive order, potentially limiting choices for lower-ranked applicants. As a government-controlled deemed university, NERIST is known for offering affordable engineering education, providing various academic and extracurricular opportunities.
