Is CUET UG mandatory for Ranchi University UG admission?

CUET UG is the primary route for BA, BSc, and BCom at Ranchi University. Candidates without a CUET score may be considered for remaining seats on Class 12 merit. Appearing for CUET UG strongly improves your admission chances.

What is the eligibility for BA at Ranchi University?

Candidates must pass 10+2 in any stream with minimum 45% marks. SC/ST candidates need 40%. Admission is through CUET UG score or Class 12 merit via the Chancellor Portal.

Does Ranchi University offer management quota seats?

No. Ranchi University is a state government university. All admissions are merit-based through the Jharkhand Chancellor Portal or university entrance tests. There is no management quota.

What exams are accepted for Ranchi University MBA admission?

Ranchi University accepts CAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, or RUET (Ranchi University Entrance Test) for MBA. Shortlisted candidates also appear for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview round before final selection.

What is the application fee for Ranchi University admission?

The application fee is INR 500 for General and OBC candidates and INR 400 for SC/ST candidates. For PhD admission, the fee is INR 1,200 (General) and INR 600 (SC/ST). Payment is made online.

How does the Chancellor Portal seat allotment work at Ranchi University?

After CUET UG results, candidates register on the Chancellor Portal (jharkhanduniversities.nic.in). They fill course and college preferences online. The portal generates a merit list and allots seats in multiple rounds. Candidates must accept the seat online and then verify documents at the allotted college.

What scholarships are available at Ranchi University for SC/ST students?

SC/ST students from Jharkhand can apply for the e-Kalyan post-matric scholarship at ekalyan.cgg.gov.in. The application window is open May 20 to July 31, 2026. Family income must be below INR 2.5 lakh per year. Jharkhand domicile certificate is required.

Can students from outside Jharkhand apply to Ranchi University?

Yes. Ranchi University does not restrict admission to Jharkhand domicile holders for most programmes. Students from other states may apply through CUET UG or CUET PG. State scholarships, however, require Jharkhand domicile.

Environment of college ,thier way of interacting will student
I like my department senior they are very supportive they us to adjust in college
Thier are many event held in college which are very mind refreshing

Dislikes

We are not allowed to do freshers party in college
Atleast now college should conduct fest because without that their is no fun
They are very slow in doing official work or any paperwork

Placement Experience:

From 5to 6 th semester you will be eligible Highest 5lakh, average -2lakh I don't know right now I will do MBA after my bachelor's They have to get an 8.5 cgpa for good placement and there are many criteria.
