About IIMK PGP
IIM Kozhikode offers its Post Graduate Programme (PGP), a two-year, full-time MBA, in two courses here: the flagship PGP and PGP-Finance. Together with PGP-LSM, the two-year PGPs have 600 approved seats. The institute sits on a hill campus near Kozhikode, Kerala, and NIRF ranked it #3 in management in 2025. The full fee is INR 23.52 Lakhs, the same for both courses, with the hostel room included. PGP takes CAT only, with a General floor of 85 overall. PGP-Finance also takes GMAT or GRE and checks section scores instead. The Class of 2025 averaged INR 28.18 LPA, and every graduate of 2024-25 was placed.

IIMK PGP Fees
The total fee with mess is INR 25.92 Lakhs and the fee without mess is INR 23.52 Lakhs. The tuition fee is INR 14 Lakhs of that, charged INR 7 Lakhs a year. You pay each year in three term parts: INR 4,75,000 in the first term and INR 3,50,000 in each of the next two. The mess deposit is adjusted each term for what you eat, and the caution deposit comes back when you leave.

IIMK PGP Admission Dates
CAT 2026 registration closed on 22 Sep 2026 and the exam is on 29 Nov 2026. IIMK then sends interview calls in Jan 2027 and offers in May 2027. Classes for the new batch are expected in Jun 2027, the same month as the 2025 batch.

IIMK PGP Eligibility
You need 60% in a three-year degree, or 50% in CA, CMA or CS, and 60% in Class 10 and Class 12. For PGP, a General candidate also needs 85 overall in CAT and 75 in each section. PGP-Finance has no overall floor. It checks your QA, DILR and VARC scores instead, and you may use GMAT or GRE for it.

IIMK PGP Admission Process
The PGP shortlist gives your CAT score 50% of the index, Class 12 20% and Class 10 15%. After the writing test and interview, the final score is CAT 35%, interview 35%, writing test 20% and resume 10%. You get an offer in merit order and pay INR 1,00,000 to accept it.

IIMK PGP Cutoff
The General floor for PGP is 85 overall with 75 in each section, and the OBC-NCL floor is 75 with 65. These are the lowest scores that let you register, not the scores that won a seat. IIMK does not publish a closing percentile, so aim well above the floor.

IIMK PGP Scholarships
The central schemes for SC and ST students pay the full tuition fee, and IDFC FIRST Bank pays INR 1 Lakh a year. IIMK gives a merit scholarship to one in every 20 students and need-based help if your family earns up to INR 8 Lakhs. You may keep only one award and must return the rest.

Post Graduate Programme in Finance (PGP-Finance)
Same fee as PGP, INR 23.52 Lakhs for two years. Takes CAT, GMAT or GRE. Shares one placement report with PGP.
Pick it if:
You want investment banking, equity research or wealth roles: finance took 19.2% of the 2025 offers, and the top offer of INR 81 LPA came from a finance firm.
You hold a GMAT or GRE score instead of CAT: this course accepts all three exams, while PGP accepts CAT only.
Your QA and DILR sections are your best: the shortlist gives 20% to each of those two sections and no weight to verbal.
Skip it if:
You want to keep marketing, HR or operations open: the course is built only for finance careers, from corporate finance to wealth management.
You cannot pay for a trip abroad: the international immersion is needed for the degree, and you pay its travel, stay and food yourself.

You have only a GMAT or GRE score: PGP takes CAT only; those scores work for PGP-Finance alone.

Counsellor's advice
If your QA and DILR scores clear 85 and 80, apply to both; PGP-Finance weighs those two sections most. If verbal is your strongest section, put your effort into PGP, since PGP-Finance gives verbal no weight in its shortlist.
