Should you pick Diploma in Civil Engineering at LPU?
This course suits students who want a site or junior engineer job, or a later B.Tech, and can study on a big private campus.
Pick it if:
You want a government junior engineer job: SSC JE and Punjab JE posts take a civil diploma, so you can sit those exams once you finish.
You may want a B.Tech later: LPU offers a B.Tech Civil lateral entry of 3 years, so you can move on without changing campus.
You can score well in LPUNEST: a score of 220 out of 400 cuts the programme fee by 50%, the biggest cut on this page.
Skip it if:
You want placement figures before you pay: LPU publishes no average pay or placement rate for this diploma.
You will decide late in the year: the refund gets smaller from mid July and stops in mid September, so decide first.
You need a cheap hostel room: the cheapest room is shared by five to eight students, and rooms with fewer students cost more each year.
Counsellor's advice
If your LPUNEST score is 175 or more, take the seat and pay the first term fee before mid July. If it is lower, compare the full fee with a government polytechnic near your home first.

In short
RIMT asks for Class 10 only and costs a little less, but its top scholarship is smaller. If you have Class 12 with 60% and can score 175 in LPUNEST, LPU costs about the same after the cut.
In short
CT University charges more for tuition but less for exams, and its full fee is higher. If fees decide it for you, LPU is the cheaper seat of the two.
In short
GNA University is the cheaper seat and takes students after Class 10. If you will not get an LPUNEST scholarship, compare its fee closely before you pay LPU.
In short
Desh Bhagat University does not show its diploma fee on its site. If you are thinking of it, ask for the full fee in writing and set it against the LPU total.
Fees and pay can change. Check each college site before you decide.
FAQs on LPU Diploma in Civil Engineering
Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.
Is the Diploma in Civil Engineering at LPU worth the fee?▾
It can be, if you get a scholarship slab. The full fee without hostel is INR 2.10 Lakhs, and a score of 175 in LPUNEST cuts the programme fee by 40%. LPU does not publish what this diploma pays, so ask the placement cell for last year's list before you pay.
What job will I get after this diploma?▾
Most civil diploma holders start as site supervisors or junior engineers with builders and contractors. The diploma also lets you sit SSC JE and state JE exams for government posts. LPU does not publish pay figures for this course, so check the placement list for your batch before you decide.
Who should not take this course at LPU?▾
Skip it if you want proof of placements before you pay, or if a low fee matters most. LPU publishes no average pay for this diploma, and the full fee with hostel and mess is INR 5.50 Lakhs. A government polytechnic near your home will cost much less, so compare the two first.
Should I take this diploma or go for B.Tech Civil straight after Class 12?▾
Take B.Tech if you can afford four years now and want a degree first. Take this diploma if you want a job in three years. LPU offers a B.Tech Civil lateral entry of 3 years, so the diploma does not close the door to a degree later.
Is this course good for higher studies?▾
Yes, if you plan for a B.Tech next. After the diploma you can join a B.Tech Civil lateral entry, which takes 3 years at LPU. Keep your diploma marks high from the first semester, because a lateral entry seat and its scholarship both look at your marks.
Should I take the seat if my LPUNEST score is just below 175?▾
Yes, but know what it costs you. A score of 150 to 174 gives the 30% slab, which is INR 54,000 over the course, while 175 gives INR 72,000. If you still have an LPUNEST phase left, try once more before you pay the first term fee.
Is the fee worth it without any scholarship?▾
It depends on your budget. Without a slab you pay INR 2.10 Lakhs for the course, plus INR 3.40 Lakhs if you live in the hostel. If that is hard for your family, take LPUNEST seriously, since even the 30% slab saves INR 54,000.
Should I wait a year to get a better LPUNEST score?▾
No, not for this diploma. LPUNEST has several phases in one year, so you can take it again within the same year. Use a later phase to try for a higher slab, and join in the same session instead of losing a year.
How do I get admission to this course?▾
Register for LPUNEST on the LPU site, take the exam online or at a centre, and join online counselling with your score. You also need 60% in Class 12 with Physics, Maths and English. Pay the fee by the date on your allotment, or you lose the seat.
What is the full fee for the course?▾
The full 3-year fee is INR 2.10 Lakhs without hostel: INR 1.80 Lakhs of programme fee and INR 30,000 of examination fee. With the cheapest hostel room and mess it comes to INR 5.50 Lakhs. The toggle in the fee block above shows both.
Is the hostel compulsory?▾
No, the hostel is your choice. The cheapest room is INR 72,000 a year and is shared by five to eight students, and the mess with three meals is INR 41,400 a year. If you live nearby, you can study as a day scholar and pay only the course fee.
Do I get the fee back if I leave?▾
It depends on when you leave. LPU keeps only a small amount if you leave by mid July, and the cut grows through August. From mid September nothing comes back, so read the refund rules on the LPU fee page before you pay.
The college boasts a strong placement record, with over 80% of students securing jobs through campus placements. Starting from the 7th semester, students become eligible for these opportunities. Renowned companies such as Amazon, Google, TCS, and Infosys frequently offer internships and job positions to the students. Around 70% of students successfully obtain jobs, with starting salaries typically around 25,000 INR. Internships, often accompanied by stipends, are a significant part of the academic experience, and group projects are regularly evaluated by faculty.
The annual tuition fee is 64,000 INR with no additional charges throughout the year. Scholarships are available, potentially reducing fees by half for students who perform well academically, particularly in their final year. Financial assistance options are also accessible, and the fee policy is generally more favorable compared to other institutions, with university fees capped at a maximum of 5 lakhs. The college does not enforce immediate fee payment, allowing students to focus on internships and job placements.

Which will be better for a BCA, IMS Ghaziabad or LPU?
NehaBCA student at LPU
I am a second year BCA student at LPU. I chose LPU over IMS Ghaziabad for BCA because of the following reasons:

LPU offers BCA, BCA Hons, and BCA Big Data Analytics in a tie-up with IBM. This offers a great industrial exposure to students.
LPU offers scholarships to its students based on their percentage in the qualifying exam or LPUNEST or in the form of financial aid, and more.
LPU offers various skill development programs, professional training, and opportunities for industrial exposure to its students.
When a student chooses a university, they must consider factors such as academic environment, faculty, placement opportunities, ranking, industrial exposure, professional training, infrastructure, etc. So according to these factors, I can say BCA at LPU is better than IMS Ghaziabad.

At the undergraduate level, LPU offers a BSc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT) which is a three year paramedical undergraduate program that trains students for a career as Medical Laboratory Technicians.
For admissions into this program at LPU, the candidates must clear their 10+2 with 60% aggregate (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology/Biotechnology as core subjects). For admission to this course, you must clear LPUNEST or CUET. The university also offers a Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT).
I hope this answered your query regarding paramedical courses offered at LPU on the undergraduate/diploma level.
