Should you pick M.P.Ed at LPU?
This course suits students who hold a B.P.Ed and want to teach or coach sport in schools and colleges.
Pick it if:
You want a school sports teacher job: LPU has a tie-up with KVS, so you do a six-month paid internship in schools.
You already play a sport at national level: an A+ sports grade in a high priority game waives the full programme fee.
You want to teach in a college later: the course prepares you for UGC NET and JRF, the exams colleges ask for.
You missed the first LPUPET date: LPU holds the test on five dates each year, so you can book a later date.
Skip it if:
You are counting on a big package: LPU does not publish an average pay for this course, only a highest offer of INR 9 LPA.
You play a sport only at state or district level: on M.P.Ed, players below A+ get only the C grade sports scholarship.
You hold a degree other than B.P.Ed or a B.Sc in physical education: you cannot apply, even with a good LPUPET score.
You want a small class: the batch has 20 seats, but the campus is shared with students of every LPU course.
Counsellor's advice
If you hold a B.P.Ed with 50% marks, book the earliest LPUPET date and train for the four tests. Pay the first fee only after you get the admission offer letter.

In short
Chandigarh University costs INR 50,000 more and ranks higher in NIRF, but its course is the MPES, not the M.P.Ed. If you want an M.P.Ed by name, take LPU; if the NIRF rank matters more, read the MPES syllabus before you apply.
In short
DAV University costs INR 11,000 less and asks for the same marks, but it has no NIRF university rank. If the fee gap matters most, keep DAV University as your backup; if you want a ranked university, take LPU.
In short
RIMT University costs INR 27,000 less, but its course is the MPES and it does not publish its marks rule. If you want an M.P.Ed with a clear rule, take LPU; ask RIMT University for its rule before you pay.
In short
Guru Kashi University costs INR 57,000 less and asks for the same 50% marks, but it has no NIRF university rank. If money is tight, list Guru Kashi University as a backup; if you want the ranked university, take LPU.

FAQs on LPU M.P.Ed
Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.
Is M.P.Ed at LPU worth the fee?▾
It depends on the job you want. The tuition fee is INR 2 Lakhs for two years, and LPU publishes only a highest offer of INR 9 LPA, not an average pay. If you want a school sports teacher or coach post, the six-month paid school internship helps. Ask the department for last year's job list before you pay.
What job will I get after M.P.Ed from LPU?▾
The course leads to physical education teacher, coach and trainer posts, and to college teaching after UGC NET. The highest offer on record is INR 9 LPA. The six-month paid internship in schools, with KVS as a partner, gives you teaching time before you apply for jobs. Clear UGC NET if you want a college post.
Who should not take M.P.Ed at LPU?▾
Skip it if you do not hold a B.P.Ed or a B.Sc in Health and Physical Education, because you cannot apply. Skip it too if you need an average pay figure before you pay, since LPU does not publish one. Read the placement table in the About block above before you decide.
Should I apply if my degree marks are just above 50%?▾
Yes, you can apply, because 50% is the line for General students. Your degree marks only let you sit LPUPET, and the test marks decide who gets the 20 seats. Train for the sprint, the jump, the throw and the long race before you book a date.
Is M.P.Ed at LPU good for higher studies and research?▾
Yes, if you plan a PhD or a college post. The course ends with a dissertation and prepares you for UGC NET and JRF. Pick a dissertation topic with a faculty member in the first year, and write UGC NET in your final year so the result comes on time.
Should I wait a year and join later?▾
Only if you cannot clear LPUPET this year. LPU holds the test on five dates a year, so if one test goes badly you can book a later date in the same year. Book the earliest date, so you still have time to try again before the last one.
Is the course better value with a sports scholarship?▾
Yes, by a lot. An A+ sports grade waives the full programme fee of INR 2 Lakhs. Other sports grades on M.P.Ed get only the C grade scholarship. Check your sports certificates from the last two years before you apply, because LPU reads those.
Should I choose M.P.Ed or a job right after B.P.Ed?▾
Choose M.P.Ed if you want college teaching, higher coaching posts or a PhD, because those posts ask for a master's degree and UGC NET. If you want a school job now, your B.P.Ed already lets you apply. Weigh the INR 2 Lakhs fee against two years without pay before you decide.
How do I get admission to M.P.Ed at LPU?▾
Fill the LPU form online and pay INR 1,000 for the LPUPET kit. Book a test date, take the four fitness events on campus and check the result three days later. LPU then offers the seat, and you pay the first semester fee and report with your original mark sheets.
What is the full fee with hostel?▾
The full fee is INR 4.20 Lakhs for two years with the lowest hostel room and the standard mess. Without hostel it is INR 2 Lakhs. A room with fewer beds or AC costs more, so check the room type before you book it.
Can I pay the fee in parts?▾
Yes. You pay the tuition fee semester by semester, INR 50,000 each time, over four semesters. The hostel and mess are charged by the year, INR 1.10 Lakhs at the lowest room and the standard mess. Keep each payment date from your offer letter so you never pay late.
What do I need to bring on the LPUPET day?▾
Bring your own sports kit, because LPU does not let you take the test without it. Also carry the hall ticket you get when you book the date. The test has four events: a 50 m sprint, a standing broad jump, a medicine ball throw and a 1,000 m race you may walk.
The course features a favorable faculty-to-student ratio with 24 Assistant and Associate Professors, all known for their supportive nature and diverse expertise. The college excels in campus placements, with opportunities in countries like Vietnam and Indonesia. Notably, Boston has hired physical education coaches and educationists with attractive packages. Students benefit from six-month, paid internships in schools and colleges, alongside special preparation for UGC NET and JRF exams, facilitating government teaching job placements.
Partnerships with schools such as KVS provide robust internship experiences. Master's students must complete a dissertation by course end. The fee is structured at 38,000 per semester, with a 2,500 examination fee, totaling 81,000 annually for non-scholarship students. Two scholarship types, sports and academics, are available, offering up to a 60% fee reduction based on academic performance. The scholarship program ensures more affordable and equitable education compared to other universities.
