In the final year, the placement process starts. The finest of the companies visit the college. Also, the placement season is quite long you can definitely have a nice season. BITS Pilani have amazing Alumni base succeeding in all kinds of fields ranging from Entrepreneurship to past CM of Maharashtra. I got a good branch ( electronics) so no second option came in mind. Their is a test exclusively conducted to enter this college named BITSAT. It is a computer based examination and score os shown as soon as you submit the test. You can check several Youtube Channels to know beauty of campus. Yatharth Gairola Sailab Swarnim CR

Several high-profile companies ranging from IT, consulting, analytics, electronics, mechanical, civil, and pharma come to the campus for placements. Approx 95% of students get placed with an average CTC approx 9LPA and the highest being 35LPA. I plan on working in the company I got placed in and think about my future plans later.

Placement Experience:

On campus placements and pre placement offers are the two modes on can get placed at Bits Pilani. On campus placements are highly competitive and stress driven as a lot of good tier 1, 2 companies come and the packages provided by them is also very good. Since it's highly competitive the entire season is for one whole semester and each student is allowed to choose in which sem they want to sit for placement and in which sem they want to opt for Intern in which PPO is given by majorly all the companies.

Placement Experience:

FOr a single degree student, one becomes eligible from the 4th year onwards. For dual degree students, one gets eligible for placements starting their 5th year. Averagely 98%of students are offered a job. A lot of students do opt for higher studies or wish to pursue their off-campus offers and therefore denying the offer back from college.

Placement Experience:

Our college has an excellent placement record, although not as good for B.pharmacy. The student becomes eligible for placement in their final year. A lot of MNCs come. Companies like Microsoft hire around 40-50 students with the offer of 40lpa. The lowest package goes around 6-7 LPA. After getting the degree I plan to get a job and prepare for MBA.

Placement Experience:

The placement in BITS is at par with top IITs. From 3rd year onwards students get internship opportunities from many top MNCs like Microsoft, Oracle, Uber, JPMC to name a few. The actual placement takes place during the 4th year of a student. The highest package is around 50 lakh and average package for CS students is around 20 lakhs. Almost everyone gets placed in BITS if the student doesn't have any plans for highest studies. My plan is to just bag a decent placement.

Placement Experience:

BITS is known for its opportunities in placements, and most of the students will be get placed. There are other opportunities from industries from practice schools that BITS offer as a compulsory project, which involves working on industrial projects. The highest package would be for CS students, but BITS' core group opportunities are also quite good. However, the initial package for the core group is more petite. Upon an increase in experience, it will increase.

BITS Pilani: 2 Answered Questions

What is your review of BITS Pilani WILP?Does it consider to get lecturer job?

Shruti DasguptaStudent at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani

BITS WILP is a two-year postgraduate level course, in which 15 specializations are offered by the university. It is a degree course that is completed mainly on weekends to enable students and professionals to gain a full-time degree course while continuing their professional pursuits.

Pros

  • You get associated with the BITS tag
  • You can do your PG alongside working
  • The course is rather easy and with the right dedication you can complete it in 2 yrs.
  • The syllabus is the same for both on and off-campus students

Cons

  • You won’t be able to sit for PG campus recruitment
  • Not many companies consider this degree valuable and thus makes it is difficult to land a job.
  • The admission criteria are rather flexible thus the peer pool is not very filtered.
  • Most of the subjects are from bachelors and lack relevance and rigor
  • There is no visible difference in the knowledge base of the students.
  • The classes are not conducted by the original BITS faculty.

In all, I think the cons overshadow the pros and don’t deem this course a very wise decision.

Is BITS Pilani "Pilani campus" better than IIT Roorkee or IIT Guwahati?

Tithi AggrawalLives in New Delhi

In my opinion, both BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee are in the same league while IIT Guwahati is a bit inferior to them. Let’s discuss further on the basis of some very common aspects

  • Core subjects: BITS Pilani does not focus on core subjects and the research culture is also very inactive. This is because of the extremely laid-back curriculum and attendance policy. The research opportunities offered are very less in comparison to IITs
  • Placements: In this aspect, BITS Pilani definitely fairs better with its flagship Practice School program. Students of this program receive many PPOs from top companies during internships arranged by the college itself.
  • Campus life: IMHO BITS offers the best campus life owing to the student-driven culture and great academic flexibility.
  • Performance: The institutes can be evaluated on the basis of the performance of their students in various entrance exams. IIT Roorkee students score the best in GATE, UPSC, etc. while BITS Pilani scores well in CAT, GMAT, and GRE.
  • Peer groups: The average student quality of both the institutes is somewhat similar with IIT Roorkee giving a slight edge to BITS Pilani in this aspect.

Both the colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and comparing them is illogical. I would say that if you are genuinely interested in CSE, then Pilani will be better for you than Roorkee. But if you aren’t certain of your area of interest then choose IIT Roorkee for its IIT tag.
