JAGANNATH University Jaipur Ph.D Education: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Education or a relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks from a UGC-recognised university. SC/ST and Physically and Visually Impaired candidates require a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying degree. Admission follows UGC PhD Regulations 2022, and a valid UGC-NET score or qualifying marks in the university entrance exam are required.

Ans. Candidates with UGC-NET JRF or Lectureship qualification are exempt from the university’s own PhD entrance exam. Those who do not hold a UGC-NET qualification must appear in the university entrance exam and qualify for the Personal Interview round to be considered for PhD registration. UGC-NET Phase 2 2026 results were declared on July 1, 2026, and are valid for the current admission cycle.

Ans. The total fee for the minimum three-year PhD in Education is INR 4,45,000. Year 1 includes a tuition fee of INR 1,40,000 and a one-time registration charge of INR 25,000. From Year 2 onwards, the annual tuition fee is INR 1,40,000. Additional fees may apply if the PhD extends beyond three years.

Ans. As per UGC PhD Regulations 2022, the minimum duration of a full-time PhD programme is three years from the date of registration. The maximum duration is generally six years, with extensions subject to university approval and progress committee recommendations. Part-time PhD is also available for working professionals meeting the eligibility criteria, with a maximum of eight years for completion.

Ans. PhD holders in Education are eligible for college and university lecturer and assistant professor positions as per the UGC qualification norms. Other career paths include curriculum design roles with state education boards, policy research positions with NGOs and think tanks, school principal and educational leadership roles, and research associate positions with teacher training institutes and national educational research organisations.

Ans. Candidates with UGC-NET JRF qualification are eligible for the UGC Junior Research Fellowship, which is disbursed directly by UGC to scholars registered at recognised universities. After two years of satisfactory research progress, JRF scholars are upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship with a higher stipend as per UGC norms. University-level scholarships and government category fellowships are also available as per the university’s scholarship policy.
