- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Placement Experience:
The college provides very good placements. Most big tech companies visit the college like qualcomm, samsung, delloitte,TATA power, JP morgan, etc. Highest package can go upto 50 lpa, or even more than that. Highest package is mostly offered by IT companies. Avg package is 8-10 lpa. Almost 70-80% students get placed every year.

Placement Experience:
Students from the 5th semester can apply for internships and those in the 7th semester are eligible to sit in the campus placements. Many reputed companies visited last year in our campus include many reputed campuses like TCS, Infosys, Amazon, Gooogle India, Capgemini, Samsung R&D. Total 116 companies arrived last time. Total 506 jobs were offered and a total of 456 were placed. The remaining no. of students either went for higher studies or started their own startups. The highest package offered last year was 44LPA CTC and the average package was 8.5 LPA CTC. About 71.92% of students got placed last year. After getting the degree I want to pursue higher studies after qualifying for the GATE examinations.

From the 7th semester, the company starts taking employees from college, and placement start. Many companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Wells Fargo, JpMC and many companies for each branch come in college. The package in our college is also good, some person finds 44CTC also from our College and average placement of our college is approx 10 lakhs.

From the seventh semester, students become eligible for placements.
TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Google India, and many other companies, a total of 116 approximately as per last year, visit the college, and about 460 students were offered placements.
About 82% of students got placed last year.
After my graduation, I'd opt for either IT sector jobs or go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:
Around 70% of students get placements. The rest go for higher education. Barely there is any student who remains unsuccessful after graduating from NIT Durgapur.
I want to get placed at the end of the 4th year and work for 2 or 3 years under a company and pursue MBA after that. Then the job continues. Perhaps, I could start my own business as well.

The Company that comes last year in 2020 are TCS, Infosys, Codenation, Samsung R&D, WellsFargo, Amazon, Qualcomm, Capgemini, Google India, and many reputed companies. The highest package offered last year us 44 LPA CTC and the average is 8.5 LPA CTC.
About 71.92% placed last year. My plan is to go for research in a foreign institute in AI / Robotics and Space research field.

Good infrastructure and placements and near to my state and very strong alumni connections, green campus with all mordern classrooms, and good hostel facilities. Admission process is as per JOSAA guidelines, mostly in the month of july-august admissions take place

I have seen one senior got all india rank 1in 2017 gate metallurgy that's why i choose this college because i want to get job in public sector so i decided to go with national Institute of technology durgapur

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
