Positive remarks about our college is that the faculties are very good without any doubt. Negative remarks is that they want 100? attendance from us which is basically not possible. They are very much strict about us like a school which we can't tolerate.

My remarks will obviously be positive. The education in this University is most priority here. You have good faculties, good infrastructure, good library, labs and above a good studying environment. Also the job placements are good.So if your only goal is to study and study and get a job, this one may be your choice. But sometimes the strictness seems a bit too much.Sometimes we have to forcefully perform a lot of study related stuffs which some people may not like.So if you want like a place for entertainment or light environment along with studies, you may have to think twice.

No doubt it's one of the best private engineering colleges in West Bengal. The college is too much strict which good and bad too. The thing I hate most of our college, the campus environment is like school not college. Students can't enter the college after 9:30 am, can't leave before 4:30 pm, can't access library on the class time.

The attendence is mandatory for working day. Once you entered the college by 9:00 am sharp you can't go out of the college untill the all classes get over. Less than 75% attendence students may not allowed for semester exam.
Well that's it. otherwise college is great, canteen is superb. additional there is CCD shop in college canteen and there is also ATM in college campus.

University of Engineering and Management (IEM Newtown): 1 Answered Question
Why am I getting so negative reviews about UEM Kolkata?
Ayan DeyB.Tech Computer Science, University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata (2020)
UEM Kolkata has been the highlight of negative views lately and here are the reasons:
- It is fairly new and hasn’t reached any milestone yet which makes it unreliable according to the standards set in society. People don’t trust newly established private universities.
- The entrance exam of UEM Kolkata is very easy and people pass it without any problem.
- UEM Kolkata is new and therefore has no accomplishments and therefore uses the records of UEM Jaipur which makes parents skeptical.
- The Institute has a very strict environment and therefore comes in the way of students who want to enjoy their college life. These students somehow convince their parents that the Institute is not good for them.
- UEM Kolkata had issues with UGC(University Grants Commission) and is not recognized by the government and therefore it creates doubts about the degree among students.
These are some of the reasons why some students will be skeptical about joining UEM Kolkata. Talk to the students presently studying there as they can only provide you with the exact information. Try visiting the institute beforehand and decide for yourself.
