Gender diversity 80:130. 20% batch has work experience. The faculty is average and above average. Few professors are extremely good. Term exams were conducted timely. The exams were mainly case-based and were not very difficult to pass.
The course curriculum is great and it covers all the areas: Finance, Marketing, Operations, Analytics, Economics, Human Resource Management, Legal Aspects of Business. For MBA'05 there were 4 sections for a total of 227 students. Faculty members make the class very interactive and students also take great initiative. There are a total of 6 terms for 2 years ; 3 terms for each year. There are weekly quizzes and mid-term & final exams each semester. If one studies regularly, one can score well.
I choose this course for a better understanding of how to run a business. All the faculty here is highly qualified. There is a total of 6 terms in two years, 3 per year. The exam is mostly cased based on where they will check your learning outcome.
The faculties are PhD from prestigious institutions therefore the knowledge they bring in with themselves is the best thing to get at any IIM. Particularly at IIM-J, the faculty is absolutely awesome. Each faculty has done their PHD or PDF either from IIT's or from a prestigious institution abroad. When you sit with the faculty and the knowledge they impart you is worth paying everyone in IIM-J. Apart from that while studying they introduce you to a real-life situation and gives you the knowledge likewise. Also, the project that the faculty provide us is meant in such a way that coordination and teamwork could be increased with each of the members. Basically, the faculty is continuously engaged with each and every student so that a future leader could be made out of it. Faculty is friendly, awesome, educated, experienced and best of all that help you to deal with real-life management problems so that the best leader and manager can be made out of you in a fun process. It is good.
The course curriculum is good. It is in alignment with the other IIMs. We have daily 3 to 4 classes and there are many guest lectures also by some industry professionals. Overall the experience is good.
The course curriculum is rigorous as it's an IIM. The faculty members are also very good. Anyone can approach them anytime, they are ready to help in every possible manner. Overall my experience is good.
The course curriculum is rigorous. In the first year, they try to cover as much as possible for every domain. All the subjects are compulsory and there are no electives in the 1st year. All the faculties are PhD with experience in corporate and teaching in the past. They follow a trimester format, so there is a total of 6 trimesters. Each trimester has two exams - mid-term and end term. Exam level is generally medium to difficult. It is an open-book exam. For few subjects, the internet is allowed as well. Final marks for the subject depending on the assignment, projects, quizzes, mid-term and end-term exam, attendance.
The institute offers a 2 year MBA program. The institute follows the trimester pattern where every aspect is given importance while analyzing a student for example exam marks, group assignments, quizzes, class participation, etc.
I am pursuing an MBA. The batch strength is approx 220. We do have 6 terms (trimester) wherein for the first three terms the subjects are common for all, and from the next three terms, we have to opt for electives for specialization. All the facilities are highly qualified.
The course curriculum is very well structured according to the semesters, and faculties have expertise in their specific domains. Apart from faculty, the domain-wise clubs also solve the doubts and provide extra sessions whenever required. All the faculties have a doctorate in the specific areas, and the teaching method is also interesting, which helps us to work on real business world cases and learn through that. This year due to Covid, we had a chance to study from different visiting faculties that have approx 40 years of teaching experience, so Covid somewhere gave us new opportunities. Term exams are conducted in two parts, mid-term and end-term, which take part after almost every 45 days, and if you have attended the classes well and have taken active participation during a class discussion, then there will be not any difficulty to pass the examination. Starting the schedule seems hectic, but gradually you get the drill.
