Centre College Programs, Campus and Residence

Programs

Centre College offers more than 50 programs which include 27 majors and 35 minors. Apart from those, it also offers pre-professional programs. Language courses are available as additional academic offerings.

  • Majors are offered in the fields of Liberal Arts, Science, Computer Science, Commerce, among others.
  • Pre-Professional courses are offered in the fields of Medical, Engineering, Law, Business, etc.
  • Language courses like Chinese and Japanese are two of the Additional Language Offerings.
  • Other courses include a Dual Degree Program in Engineering and Graduate Partnerships in the fields of Nursing and Teaching.

Campus

The campus of Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. It spans across 152 acres. There are 67 buildings, out of which 14 are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The campus consists of several lecture halls, laboratories, residential facilities, dining facilities, etc. 

The Crounse Hall, Jones Visual Arts Center (JVAC), Olin Hall, Young Hall, Norton Center for the Arts are few of the academic buildings with classrooms, lecture halls, libraries, faculty rooms, etc.

Residence

Centre College offers housing facilities to all students. 98 percent of students live on campus. The college also purchased a few properties near the campus to accommodate more students.

  • Northside Residence Halls are located inside the campus. The new building has suites, super suites, and pods. Other facilities like gender-neutral washrooms, kitchens, lounge spaces, etc are also available.
  • The Northside Student Residence which includes the Acheson and Caldwell, Check and Evans, and Yerkes were initially made for female students at Centre College.
  • All the residence halls and student residences have proper facilities with furnished rooms, dining areas, bathrooms and common rooms.
  • Paid meal plans are available for students.
  • The Student Life Office manages the meal system and residences.

Admission Process

International admissions at Centre College are accepted for the Fall semester classes for which begin in September. 

Application: Students have to apply to Centre College through the Common Application.

There are three application deadlines for international students. November 15 is for Early Decision (binding), December 1 for Early Action (non-binding) and January 15 for Regular Decision (non-binding).

Scholarships and Financial Aids

Centre College does not offer need-based financial aid for international students. Foreign students can avail of International Merit Scholarships. The value for each scholarship varies. The reward ranges from 7,500 USD upto the full cost of attendance. 

All students applying by January 15 are eligible for Merit Scholarships and no application is required. Students have to complete the College Board Certification of Finances Statement. Full funding is available in two of the Premier Scholarship Programs.
