The admission process for Francis Marion University (FMU) is moderately difficult reflected by the university’s acceptance rate of 64% for fall 2018.
FMU campus hosts students from 13 countries in its campus. The Office of Multicultural and International Student Affairs handles matters pertaining to their stay in campus.

Applications for undergraduate programs are accepted all year around. FMU recommends that all documents required for admission to be submitted two weeks before the start of the semester.

Note: There is no deadline for international applications. But the university has a semester wise deadline for rolling out admission decisions. Kindly refer to the international admissions section for details.
The Office of Multicultural and International Student Affairs (ISA) assists international students in arranging travel to the U.S and planning their stay at FMU.
International applicants must be accepted to FMU by the following deadline before commencement of classes in specific terms: Fall - July 1, Spring - November 1 and Late Spring/ Summer - April 1. All international applicants can plan their application accordingly.
The additional admission criteria for international applicants are mentioned below.

Visa Requirements for International Applicants
The undergraduate student’s strength was 3460 in fall 2018. Freshmen are expected to receive their admission decision one week after their application submission.

Additional Requirements to Graduate Admissions
The freshman retention rate was 65% in Fall 2017. Acceptance to FMU is based on the evaluation of the applicant’s total academic programs. Even though the deadlines are on rolling basis, it is always recommended to submit admission applications well in advance.
