The admission process for Francis Marion University (FMU) is moderately difficult reflected by the university’s acceptance rate of 64% for fall 2018.

Francis Marion University Admission Deadlines

Applications for undergraduate programs are accepted all year around. FMU recommends that all documents required for admission to be submitted two weeks before the start of the semester.

Francis Marion University International Admissions

The Office of Multicultural and International Student Affairs (ISA) assists international students in arranging travel to the U.S and planning their stay at FMU.

International applicants must be accepted to FMU by the following deadline before commencement of classes in specific terms: Fall - July 1, Spring - November 1 and Late Spring/ Summer - April 1. All international applicants can plan their application accordingly.

Visa Requirements for International Applicants

  1. The Admissions Office will send an I-20 form to the accepted international applicants. To obtain the F-1 visa, applicants need to submit the following documents at the US embassy or consulate staff:
    1. Passport
    2. I-20
    3. Current financial certification
  2. International applicants already in the U.S are required to submit Visa information to get a new I-20. These applicants should request a transfer in SEVIS before the new I-20 is released by FMU.

The undergraduate student’s strength was 3460 in fall 2018. Freshmen are expected to receive their admission decision one week after their application submission.
