The Kansas based private university, found in 1916, Avila University has more than 1,600 students enrolled in their 60+ undergraduate and graduate programs. Students of Avila hail from over 20 countries and make up for about 7% of the total student body. 72% freshmen choose to live on-campus and about 98% of undergraduate students receive scholarships. The university is also a member of the NAIA and the KCAC (Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference) and has over 14,000 alumni ranging throughout the world.

Avila University Campus

The 50-acre Avila campus is nestled on Wornall Road. The setting of the campus is suburban and minutes away from Kansas City. Avila has 8 major student organization bodies the students can be a part of Student Senate, Honours societies, Performing arts organizations, Literary and media organizations and many more.

Students at Avila can also participate in the numerous campus traditions like Kickoff, Eagle madness, Heritage Day, Breast Cancer Awareness month, etc.

Rich in culture and heritage, Kansas City has a lot to offer, world class barbeques, fine dining, shopping, sports, museums and lots of attractions to explore.

Residence Facilities at Avila University

28% of students live on-campus. There are 4 residence halls at Avila University. The halls are,

  • Carondelet hall
  • Ridgway hall
  • Glenna Wylie hall
  • Jeanne Collins Thompson hall
  • Carondelet Hall and Ridgway Hall

All the residence halls have double/triple bedrooms, adaptable furniture, lounge rooms and have flat screen televisions. The common area has a microwave, refrigerator, laundry facilities and mailbox. The Jeanne Collins Thompson Hall contains suite style four bedrooms, two bathrooms common space with kitchenette, large-screen television, and a kitchen area.

Programs offered at Avila University

Avila University offers programs across 60 undergraduate majors and concentrations. The university also has eight graduate programs, including MBA, MA, MS and Masters in Social Work. The university offers their degrees through three colleges:

  • College of Liberal arts and social sciences
  • College of science and health
  • College of Professional schools

Undergraduate majors include subjects like accounting, nursing, music (Conducting, voice, piano), English, Computer science and many more. Some of the popular undergrad majors are Nursing, Psychology, Communication, Business Administration, Radiologic science.

Some of the famous graduate programs are MBA, MS in organizational development, MS in counselling psychology, MA in education, MA in Management and MS in psychology.
