University of Oklahoma - OU, Oklahoma, usa: 4 answered questions

Ques. Which one is better- University of Oklahoma Norman or UT Dallas?

    ● Top Answer By Chris Nandakumar on 04 Feb 21

Ans. Oklahoma is known for the oil and gas industry and the college being the flagship campus of the state has more opportunities, so you should consider UO over UTD. While the two schools are not similar to one another, you should look into the criteria you are considering prior to applying to either colleges. UT Dallas was traditionally a commuter campus with on campus housing being recently built in the last 15 years. Rankings & Tuition: This is usually the two most important factors students consider. According to US News and World Report: Name of the University Ranking Tuition University of Oklahoma #133 in national universities. USD 27,068 University of Texas, Dallas #143 in national universities. USD 38,970 Popular programs: University of Oklahoma: From my experience, OU is primarily known for its Petroleum Engineering and Meteorology programs. The business school is quite good too with programs in Business, Management and Marketing being some of the popular ones. UT Dallas: If you are looking into research programs, Dallas has some really good research options with top tier faculty available. Additionally, the MBA program at UTD is also very popular among students. Other programs that are sought after include biological sciences, engineering and other business related programs. Additionally, if you’re looking at campus and room and board, OU at Norman is much more affordable and a quaint town with a good football scene at the campus compared to UTD. Nevertheless, my advice to you would be that you should zero down on a program and look at which institute offers it better before making a decision.Read more

Ques. What are the best reasons to attend the University of Oklahoma?

    ● Top Answer By Sanya Khan on 04 Feb 21

Ans. The scholastic program at OU is amazing. With an overall national ranking of 133, University of Oklahoma has a great standing in the US and a lot more to offer its students. What’s more is that it utilizes small classes with some of the best faculty in the area. However, this also depends on what you are looking for in a college. Social Life:  There are a number of reading clubs in case you are a book aficionado. They discuss books all the way from Harry Potter to podcasts and history books. Football is a major part of every Oklahoma student’s life. Saturdays in fall are almost a holiday. You will also build good relationships with your professors and get to conduct undergraduate research and apply for funding for the same.  Programs & Faculty: With a student to faculty ratio of 17:1, you can expect some quality teaching with helpful interactions with your professor at the university. My advice would be to network as much as possible. This will ultimately help you in the future. Most of the students are interested in programs like Business Management, Social Sciences, Engineering and Journalism. About Norman and the campus: Living at Norman is quite affordable and cheap as compared to living in big town cities, plus all your needs will be met with the grocery stores and restaurants littered all over the town. The buildings have a Cherokee gothic feel to them. You can watch football, attend clubs and also check out the fraternities and sororities there. Placements:  You will see a plethora of 4000+ companies visiting the campus every year. You can expect to have a median salary of USD 53,888 and a placement within the first 6 months of graduation if you are determined enough. Some of her best years were at the University of Oklahoma. The professors are great, you will have a great campus and supportive professors. You will definitely have a successful career there.Read more

Ques. What is your review of The University of Oklahoma?

    ● Top Answer By Aishwarya Sankhe on 04 Feb 21

Ans. The best part about the University of Oklahoma is that the fees are not exorbitant and it has a great reputation. It ranks at #133 in National Universities according to US News. The upper division classes are small which will help you build valuable relationships with your professor. In my sister’s experience with Biochemistry, the department is a close knit circle and you will also learn to develop connections and network.  Location: The institute is located in Norman, Oklahoma which is a free-thinking town with affordable housing and you will have a large campus to explore. It is littered with gyms, libraries and fine arts spaces with really good architecture. The college also has an active football scene and in my opinion, you will definitely end up at a game or two. Classes: Depending on the course you choose, your course classes may have 500+ students to small classes with just 30 students in a class. The faculty is also quite approachable and genuinely cares for students and their academics. Placements: On an average, their graduates make about USD 70,929 per year so you can expect to make an amount closer to this. OhioHealth and JP Morgan and Chase are some of the popular companies that hire students.  You can expect to have a good career after graduating from the program and have a great college life as well. Just research a little about the program you want to go to and give it a shot!Read more

Ques. What is the University of Oklahoma and the surrounding area like?

    ● Top Answer By Matthew Brown on 04 Feb 21

Ans. Overall, University of Oklahoma has a great life based in the town of Norman. It has a beautiful campus with good landscaping and huge trees. You will definitely love walking to classes in spring. Additionally, the architecture has a sort of Gothic feel to it with a huge library. Do check out the Great Reading Room in the library.  There are also some fraternities and sororities on campus. Rent and housing prices are also quite affordable since the town is small. The old homes near the campus are pricier. Some amazing things you should know about OU: There is a good football life on campus and the enthusiasm is quite contagious. Do go watch the Sooners play if you get the chance. There is beautiful Cherokee Gothic architecture around the campus which is quite popular among the masses. The university is also affiliated with Universities Research Association, Association of Public Land grant universities and is also accredited by Higher Learning Commission. There are rumours that the college lacks cultural diversity but is listed as a Tier 2 institute. The campus is quite big (Around 3000 acres I think) and you will be able to avail a number of student services too. You should definitely visit the campus library and museums. Another major perk is that cars are allowed on campus, which will help you navigate around faster. Norman is a great town and is quite safe. Best part is, it will probably take you about 20 minutes to get from one end of the town to another. There are a couple of Walmarts, Targets and Victoria’s with grocery stores littered all over the town. Overall, you can expect to have a decent university life and affordable living at Norman and University of Oklahoma.Read more

It is an amazing university and I heard a lot about it through my former teacher who graduated from here and gave very positive review about it. My GPA of 7 helped me to get admitted here. I had to submit a common application.

    Course Curriculum :

Astrophysicists study the way the solar system and the earth were formed and the functions of the planets and other celestial bodies. I used math and physics skills to research and determine the way the universe works and the life cycles of stars and planets. OU's Department of Physics and Astronomy gave me a strong mixture of astronomy and physics.

I opted for this college because it had great scholarship programs. I applied through FAFSA which helped me get my tuition fee waived. In addition to the scholarship, the overall curriculum of the course and university placement records and ranking fascinated me to apply. I paid $100 for the online application process.

    Course Curriculum :

The entire coursework is for two years. The curriculum is divided into four semesters. There are five two six topics each semester. The first year has basic concepts and the second year has a little complicated topic. There are other extra coursework options also available including Computed tomography or Sectional Anatomy & Path.

My father is an architect and owns a firm. It was clear that after pursuing my bachelor's in architecture I will be joining his office and working with him. So when I was in my 12th standard he began his research for the top architecture colleges in the world and when he told me about this university I was very amazed that Dean Hans E. Butzer, who is the designer of Oklahoma City teaches the class himself. So I made my choice to get into it. The application process was completed online for $90.

    Course Curriculum :

The course includes methods including Patterns of Architecture, Materials, and Form, Sustainability and Resilient Systems, and more. We have designed classes, study the history of the built environment, Architectural structures, modern and contemporary architecture, Cultures of Collaborating, Creating and Constructing which suits and fulfills the requirements for licensure of us on graduation.

I choose the University of Oklahoma health sciences center because it offers a Doctor of Dental Surgery program where we get a doctorate degree in just 21/2 years. The program accepts only 10 applications, so the admission process is really rigorous. it is meant for the graduates of international dental programs and I completed this program that's why I applied for the Advanced Standing program.

    Course Curriculum :

The course is designed to deliver in-depth knowledge and technical proficiency in all disciplines to us. Our curriculum starts with a semester-long pre-clinical instruction which is followed by a junior class to complete a third and fourth year of the traditional DDS curriculum. We attend classroom lectures, direct patient care, and pre-clinical technique courses.

Financial aid was the primary reason for attending. They have a very good program but were not my first choice. However, I was unable to afford a better school out of state because of tuition.

    Course Curriculum :

The curriculum of the biomedical engineering department is one of the main reasons I chose to attend. It's an excellent program with many opportunities (undergraduate research, study abroad, etc) and well funded.
