The International Student and Scholar Center (ISSC) at UMass overlooks the requirements of international applicants. From generating admission requirements to providing support for visas, ISSC does it all. In case of any query, applicants are advised to contact both UMass and ISSC.
In order to meet the admission requirements, international applicants must provide the following documents:
TOEFL or IELTS are required from those applicants who belong to non-native English speaking countries. This requirement is also valid for those applicants who have attended an institution where the language of instruction was not English.

Admitted international students are required to obtain Form I-20 from the UMass Dartmouth. I-20 form certifies the admission of an applicant to a full-time study program in the United States. The applicants need to carry the completed I-20 form with them for the visa application.
One of the key elements for visa attainment is the demonstration of available finances. For this, the applicants must fill the university’s Declaration of Finances. The accepted documents to show the availability of finances are given below:
At University of Massachusetts, undergraduate admissions are accepted either through the Common Application or UMass Application. All applicants must submit the application fee of 60 USD.
Additional Requirements: Applicants apply for any Visual or Performing Arts program must submit a portfolio or a complete music audition.
Graduate admissions at University of Massachusetts are accepted through the university’s graduate application portal. Along with the form, applicants are required to pay 60 USD as the non-refundable application fee.
Applicants applying for any graduate program must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their undergraduate coursework. Apart from this, majority of academic requirements vary from course to course.
