Southern New Hampshire University Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions
Ques. What is the maximum scholarship stack an Indian student can receive at Southern New Hampshire University?
Ans. Combined aid can reduce annual UG tuition from $18,531 to roughly $12,531 (INR 11.95 Lakhs) after the maximum $6,000 International Merit award. Adding the Housing Scholarship and an endowed grant cuts the on-campus package further for 3.5+ GPA residents. Graduate students top out at the $3,000 (INR 2.86 Lakhs) International Merit Scholarship plus one endowed grant, unless they add external Fulbright funding.
Ques. Do Indian students need a separate application for the Southern New Hampshire University International Merit Scholarship?
Ans. The merit route auto-triggers at application; no separate form is needed for the offer letter award. Endowed awards such as Hassa Jadvani, Bickford and Li Xu need a separate portal application filed after admission. Indian applicants should submit those by February 15, 2027 to align with the Fall 2027 I-20 window.
Ques. What GPA and English score does Southern New Hampshire University require for scholarship eligibility?
Ans. The International Merit Scholarship needs a 3.3 GPA on the US 4.0 scale, which maps to a Class 12 aggregate above 85% for most Indian boards. Applicants also need IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 79 as a floor for full admission. Endowed awards prefer a 3.5+ GPA plus documented leadership or research experience.
Ques. How does the Hassa Jadvani Memorial Scholarship work for Indian business students?
Ans. The Hassa Jadvani Memorial Scholarship serves Indian graduate business candidates in the International Business or Finance tracks. It is a need-based endowed award sized each year by the fund yield. Applicants submit financial-need documents plus a 500-word career statement through the SNHU scholarship portal.
Ques. When should Indian students apply to be eligible for Southern New Hampshire University scholarships?
Ans. Rolling admissions applicants should send complete files 90 days before the desired intake, so Fall 2027 files ideally close by June 1, 2027. Spring 2027 applicants should submit by October 15, 2026 for merit review inside the offer letter. Endowed awards run on a single April 1, 2027 cycle regardless of intake.
Ques. Does any Southern New Hampshire University scholarship cover Manchester living costs?
Ans. The Housing Scholarship credits directly against room and board on the Manchester campus. It reduces the residential portion of the roughly $37,300 (INR 35.58 Lakhs) UG annual cost of attendance for 3.0+ GPA holders. Only the Fulbright-Nehru package covers full off-campus living; SNHU awards target tuition or campus housing lines only.

- The faculties were amazing, supportive and always encouraging.
- The curriculum is very rigorous and yet flexible which is amazing.
- The concentration that is available for some degrees so that you can deep dive into your passion is amazing like I'm going for Child and Adolescent Development concentration they offer.
Dislikes
- I don't believe I've had any complaints with my university in truth because I haven't truly faced any difficulties that weren't addressed to promptly whether it is my faculties or academic advisor or even student council
- Also ,There's always someone available to immediately help out with whatever troubles you're facing and most of the time the solutions are received very quickly.
Scholarship
- At the start of the program while applying to the university they had offered me a 55% scholarship which was directly applied to my fees.
- Apart from this due to being involved in various different clubs and my work, I have not really applied for scholarships.
- A lot of my classmates have applied to and received various scholarships and some are also part of a work study program which happens to be very competitive.
- There's a lot of grants and scholarships available, details of which can be found on the website and they also allow credit transfers of upto 90 credits which also helps in reducing the costs of the course.
- One just needs to talk to their enrollment advisor or academic advisor if you are enrolled already and they'll guide you through with the application processes and eligibility requirements of various scholarships and grants also assisting you as much as they can to increase your chances at receiving the financial aid.
- I am residing in my college accommodations.
- I didn't bother looking much since they were mostly affordable and seemed to suffice my requirements.
- I reside in a single room with no roommates. It's spacious with a study, and living space separate, so it was a good room for me.
- I paid for the entire year but an estimate was about 2.5k which includes the basic furniture, attached bathroom/washroom, security lock, wifi, recreational space it's very close to the gym and my classes. Meal plan and laundry was separately charged.
- Honestly, I think most students will find something suited to their needs in the college hostel itself.
- It's on my campus very close to the building where my classes are conducted.
Likes
- The friendships I have gained from classes and clubs that were on campus as well as being able to have a full day off because of how the classes were structured.
Dislikes
- The snow and ice during the winter since it was slippery on the hilly campus. So please be careful and be prepared with your winter gear if you are living on campus
Scholarship
Yes, I have received the Pell Grant and some basic scholarships for living on campus. Not sure of the amount or if they exist anymore.
I chose this university as it was my home away from home. My mom is originally from New Hampshire. I chose education because I always wanted to be a teacher. It was a really great experience and I truly got to know myself.
Likes
- I choose this university due to Flexibility mainly, and they had an entrepreneurship program that I wanted.
- My course, I am very passionate about it easy to understand. The community is pretty welcoming and good too, easy to make friends. Nice infrastructure.
Dislikes
- So far we haven't delved deep into the subjects. It's kind of repetitive for the first year. It gets boring at times, i cant wait to start actually learning more,
Scholarship
It's not necessarily a scholarship, but being an international Indian student got me some discount in the semester fees.
So far I feel okay with it. I do not have any extreme emotions regarding the university.
Likes
- Located in Northern England state, Slow and peaceful city unlike New York or Chicago.
- Location, Staff and Faculty, Infrastructure, the fact that Manchester is a small place and you don't have to travel miles as in Texas or NY, Indian professors on campus
Dislikes
- Outdated and deviated elements in the course, Other courses BA and MBA are much more focussed and up to date. I feel new technologies let's say Salesforce, tableau, PowerBI and others should be taught on campus as these are top rated skills in America
Scholarship
Yes - 2000$/year.
Peaceful place, Decent crowds, friendly staff, easy living, and Good weather, good infrastructure with well built and maintained buildings and roads.
