BIT Mesra BTech fees for the 2026 entry batch are approximately ₹17.08 lakh to ₹17.88 lakh over four years, depending on the branch. The main-campus MBA is ₹7.84 lakh for two years, while the online MBA is ₹2.09 lakh. These amounts include the listed academic fees and joining charges, including caution money. Hostel and mess payments are separate.
The fees below belong to the 2026–27 fee schedule. They are not confirmed fees for a 2027–28 entrant. Mesra, Lalpur and the off campuses have different programme fees, so the campus is stated beside the relevant amount.
BIT Mesra Course Fees 2026–27
The 2026–27 programme fee schedule lists tuition, development and examination fees by semester. Its course totals also include the applicable admission fee, caution money and IT charges. The following tables cover the named programmes at Mesra main campus.
Undergraduate and integrated programmes
| Programme | Course period | Approximate course total |
|---|---|---|
| BTech CSE, AI and Machine Learning, ECE | 4 years | ₹17,88,000 |
| BTech EEE | 4 years | ₹17,55,000 |
| BTech Biotechnology, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Production and Food Technology | 4 years | ₹17,08,000 |
| BArch | 5 years | ₹21,91,000 |
| BPharm | 4 years | ₹16,04,000 |
| Integrated MBA | 5 years | ₹15,81,000 |
| Integrated MSc Mathematics and Computing / Quantitative Economics and Data Science | 5 years | ₹9,57,000 |
| Integrated MSc Physics | 5 years | ₹9,15,000 |
| BSc + MSc Chemistry | 5 years | ₹4,81,600 |
| Bachelor of Hotel Management | 4 years | ₹3,77,000 |
| BSc Medical Lab Technology | 4 years | ₹3,88,000 |
BArch has ten semesters, while BTech has eight. The integrated science amounts also cover ten semesters. The five-year Chemistry programme follows its own semester fee schedule.
For BArch, the academic fee starts at ₹1,79,000 per semester in the first year and reaches ₹2,54,500 per semester in the fifth year. The first academic payment is ₹2,24,000 after adding ₹45,000 in joining charges. BPharm starts at ₹1,68,500 per semester; its corresponding first payment is ₹2,13,500. The full-course amounts in the table already include these joining charges, so they should not be added again.
Integrated science programmes also have different starting payments. Mathematics and Computing and Quantitative Economics and Data Science begin at ₹75,500 per semester, compared with ₹72,000 for integrated Physics. With the ₹45,000 joining component, their first payments are ₹1,20,500 and ₹1,17,000 respectively. Chemistry has a separate ₹38,000 first-semester academic fee and ₹30,000 joining component, giving ₹68,000 before accommodation.
Joining charges are lower for Medical Lab Technology: ₹5,000 admission fees and ₹10,000 caution money. Added to its ₹43,500 first-semester fee, these give ₹58,500. Hotel Management starts at ₹38,000 per semester and has ₹30,000 in joining charges. These differences matter when arranging the initial payment, even where two programmes have similar overall fees.
Postgraduate programmes
| Programme | Course period | Approximate course total |
|---|---|---|
| MBA | 2 years | ₹7,84,000 |
| MCA | 2 years | ₹6,96,000 |
| MTech | 2 years | ₹5,39,000 |
| Master of Planning | 2 years | ₹2,88,000 |
| MPharm | 2 years | ₹6,17,000 |
| MSc Physics / Chemistry | 2 years | ₹3,45,000 |
| MSc Biotechnology / Geo-Informatics | 2 years | ₹4,44,000 |
| MSc Environmental Science and Technology | 2 years | ₹2,10,000 |
| MSc Physics, one-year programme | 1 year | ₹1,95,000 |
| MA Liberal Arts | 2 years | ₹1,75,600 |
The one-year MSc Physics fee is ₹1.95 lakh, including two semester payments of ₹82,500 and ₹30,000 in joining charges. The two-year Physics programme has four semesters and a ₹3.45 lakh total. MTech and MPharm also have distinct examination and tuition charges, despite both being two-year programmes.
For postgraduate courses, the amount due at admission is the first semester’s academic fee plus the listed joining charges. This works out to ₹1,89,500 for MCA, ₹1,51,000 for MTech, ₹1,70,000 for MPharm and ₹91,500 for Master of Planning. Each includes ₹30,000 in admission fees and caution money, with hostel and mess payable separately.
The two-year MSc Physics and Chemistry programmes charge ₹75,000 per semester in the first year and ₹82,500 in the second. Biotechnology and Geo-Informatics use ₹99,000 and ₹1,08,000 respectively. A four-semester estimate therefore needs two payments at each year’s rate. Multiplying only the first-semester fee by four would miss the increase already included in the institute’s course total.
BIT Mesra BTech Fees and First Payment
CSE, AI and Machine Learning, and ECE share the same Mesra BTech fee. Each semester in the first year has ₹1,69,000 tuition, ₹12,000 development fees and ₹8,000 examination fees. Together, these make ₹1,89,000 per semester. The rate increases in later years.
| Study year | CSE / AI and Machine Learning / ECE, per semester | EEE, per semester | Other listed BTech branches, per semester |
|---|---|---|---|
| Year 1 | ₹1,89,000 | ₹1,85,500 | ₹1,79,000 |
| Year 2 | ₹2,06,500 | ₹2,02,000 | ₹1,97,000 |
| Year 3 | ₹2,27,000 | ₹2,23,000 | ₹2,17,500 |
| Year 4 | ₹2,49,000 | ₹2,44,500 | ₹2,38,000 |
The last column covers Biotechnology, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Production and Food Technology. Each rate applies to both semesters of that study year and includes tuition, development and examination fees.
| One-time joining component | Amount |
|---|---|
| Admission fee | ₹20,000 |
| Caution money | ₹10,000 |
| IT and digital infrastructure | ₹15,000 |
| Total | ₹45,000 |
The first academic payment is therefore ₹2,34,000 for CSE, AI and Machine Learning or ECE, ₹2,30,500 for EEE, and ₹2,24,000 for the other listed branches, before accommodation payments. These figures add the ₹45,000 joining charges only once.
For CSE, AI and Machine Learning or ECE, the course calculation is 2 × (₹1,89,000 + ₹2,06,500 + ₹2,27,000 + ₹2,49,000) + ₹45,000 = ₹17,88,000. This is ₹33,000 above EEE and ₹80,000 above the other listed branch group. These differences concern the academic and joining components, before hostel and mess.
For a CSE student, the first-year academic outlay is ₹4,23,000: two semester payments of ₹1,89,000 and the one-time ₹45,000 joining component. The second-year academic outlay is ₹4,13,000, followed by ₹4,54,000 in year three and ₹4,98,000 in year four. The first year includes joining charges, while later years reflect the higher semester rates.
These annual amounts help separate the money needed at admission from the amount needed across the year. The ₹2,34,000 first academic payment covers the first semester and joining components; it does not pay for the second semester. The ₹10,000 caution amount is included in this cash requirement and should be kept distinct from tuition when reviewing the fee receipt.
MBA and Online MBA Fees
The main-campus MBA semester fee is ₹1,81,500 in each of the first two semesters and ₹1,95,500 in each of the final two. Adding ₹20,000 admission fees and ₹10,000 caution money gives the ₹7,84,000 two-year total. Its first academic payment is ₹2,11,500.
The online MBA has ₹34,000 tuition and ₹2,500 development fees in every semester. Examination fees are ₹8,000 in each of the first two semesters and ₹8,500 in each of the final two. This produces semester totals of ₹44,500, ₹44,500, ₹45,000 and ₹45,000.
The four online semester payments total ₹1,79,000. With ₹30,000 in admission fees and caution money, the programme total is ₹2,09,000, and the first academic payment is ₹74,500. The regular and online MBA totals differ by ₹5,75,000. A regular MBA student’s hostel and mess payments would be additional.
The five-year integrated MBA has a different payment pattern. Its academic fee per semester is ₹1,00,000 in year one, ₹1,09,500 in year two, ₹1,20,000 in year three, ₹2,13,000 in year four and ₹2,33,000 in year five. Two payments at each rate plus ₹30,000 in joining charges give ₹15,81,000.
For the regular MBA, first-year tuition is ₹1,62,000 per semester, with ₹11,500 development fees and ₹8,000 examination fees. In year two, these become ₹1,74,500, ₹12,500 and ₹8,500 respectively. Including joining charges, the academic outlay is ₹3,93,000 in the first year and ₹3,91,000 in the second.
The integrated MBA’s larger increase occurs between the third and fourth years, when its semester fee rises from ₹1,20,000 to ₹2,13,000. A budget based only on its first three years would therefore understate the later payments. Its ten-semester total should also be read separately from the four-semester regular MBA and online MBA schedules.
PhD and Polytechnic Fees
For the 2026 PhD batch, the semester fee is ₹22,000 for full-time scholars and BIT staff, and ₹44,000 for part-time or sponsored scholars. The following charges are separate from that recurring payment.
| PhD component | Amount and period |
|---|---|
| Admission fee | ₹10,000 once |
| Caution money | ₹10,000 once |
| Infrastructure fee | ₹20,000 once |
| Course fee | ₹10,000 once |
| Thesis submission | ₹25,000 at thesis submission |
The one-time admission, caution, infrastructure and course charges add up to ₹50,000. A PhD scholar’s overall payment depends on the number of semesters registered, with the thesis-submission fee payable at that stage.
The University Polytechnic Diploma in Engineering has a six-semester total of ₹2,85,500. Unlike the degree-course totals above, this figure already includes the hostel fee listed in the diploma table. Each semester is ₹42,500 in year one, ₹44,600 in year two and ₹46,900 in year three; joining charges add ₹17,500 once. The first payment is ₹60,000 on that basis.
Adding the ₹50,000 one-time PhD charges to the first semester gives ₹72,000 for a full-time scholar or BIT staff member, and ₹94,000 for a part-time or sponsored scholar. These are initial academic payments, excluding the later thesis-submission charge and any accommodation expenses. A single fixed PhD course total would be misleading because the recurring fee depends on how many semesters the scholar remains registered.
For the polytechnic diploma, the hostel component is ₹4,600 per semester in year one, ₹4,800 in year two and ₹5,100 in year three. It is already part of the stated semester totals. The ₹17,500 joining payment consists of ₹7,500 admission fees and ₹10,000 caution money. Adding the separate Mesra degree-course hostel rates to the diploma total would count accommodation twice.
Hostel, Transport and Mess Fees
Mesra hostel seat rent and transport are payable during semester registration. The listed rate rises with the study year. Electricity and mess payments remain outside the academic totals and the seat-rent-and-transport figures below.
| Study year | Mesra seat rent and transport, per semester |
|---|---|
| Year 1 | ₹21,000 |
| Year 2 | ₹23,000 |
| Year 3 | ₹25,000 |
| Year 4 | ₹27,000 |
| Year 5, for five-year courses | ₹29,000 |
At these rates, seat rent and transport total ₹88,000 for a two-year course, ₹1,38,000 for three years, ₹1,92,000 for four years and ₹2,50,000 for five years. For CSE, AI and Machine Learning or ECE, adding the four-year ₹1,92,000 amount to ₹17,88,000 gives ₹19,80,000 before mess, electricity and any separate hostel deposit.
The 2026 special-round reporting instructions separately required ₹35,000 towards mess advance including caution money at physical reporting. This is an advance and deposit payment for that intake, not a fixed four-year mess fee.
For a first-year CSE student staying in the Mesra hostel, two semesters of seat rent and transport add ₹42,000 to the ₹4,23,000 first-year academic outlay. Together, these listed components come to ₹4,65,000. Mess, electricity and any applicable separate hostel deposit still need to be budgeted for; the figure is not a complete first-year living-cost estimate.
For a regular two-year MBA, adding ₹88,000 in seat rent and transport to the ₹7,84,000 course amount gives ₹8,72,000 before mess, electricity and any separate hostel deposit. The same approach can be used for another programme only after matching its duration to the hostel schedule. A five-year course includes the fifth-year hostel rate, which is absent from a four-year BTech calculation.
Lalpur and Other Campus Fees
The following fees belong to Lalpur or the named off campuses. They do not replace the Mesra main-campus figures. Programme availability within a campus group follows the course offered there.
| Programme and campus | Period | Approximate course total |
|---|---|---|
| BBA / BCA: Lalpur, Deoghar, Jaipur, Noida and Patna | 8 semesters | ₹8,14,000 |
| BTech CSE / AI and Machine Learning: Deoghar, Jaipur and Patna | 8 semesters | ₹16,89,000 |
| BTech Civil / ECE / EEE / Mechanical: applicable Deoghar, Jaipur and Patna programmes | 8 semesters | ₹16,09,000 |
| MBA: Patna and Noida | 4 semesters | ₹7,47,000 |
| MCA: Jaipur and Noida | 4 semesters | ₹6,63,000 |
| MSc Animation Design: Jaipur | 4 semesters | ₹5,91,000 |
| MTech: Patna | 4 semesters | ₹5,39,000 |
| MSc AI and Data Science: Jaipur | 4 semesters | ₹2,10,000 |
| BSc AI and Data Science / Design Visual Communication / Business Analytics: applicable Lalpur, Deoghar, Jaipur and Noida programmes | 8 semesters | ₹3,72,000 |
| BSc Computer Science with the stated AI and Machine Learning / Data Science minor: Noida | 8 semesters | ₹3,72,000 |
| BSc Hons. AI and Machine Learning / Mathematics and Computing: Deoghar | 8 semesters | ₹3,72,000 |
| BCom Hons. with Financial Analytics: Noida | 8 semesters | ₹4,52,000 |
The BBA and BCA amount includes ₹15,000 admission fees and ₹5,000 caution money. Their first-semester academic fee is ₹86,500, making ₹1,06,500 with joining charges. BSc Animation and Multimedia at Jaipur and Noida has ₹1,04,500 in first-semester academic fees plus ₹25,000 in joining charges, giving ₹1,29,500 for those first-semester components.
Patna’s four-year hostel seat rent and transport rates are ₹18,000, ₹20,000, ₹22,000 and ₹24,000 per semester in successive years. Deoghar’s corresponding listed rates are ₹17,000, ₹18,000, ₹19,000 and ₹20,000. The 2026 fee schedule states that Jaipur has no institute hostel facility.
For BBA and BCA, the academic fee is ₹86,500 per semester in year one, ₹95,500 in year two, ₹1,03,000 in year three and ₹1,12,000 in year four. The ₹8,14,000 figure covers all eight listed semesters and the ₹20,000 joining component. It should not be presented as a three-year total or transferred to a different programme merely because it is offered at Lalpur.
The off-campus CSE and AI and Machine Learning group starts at ₹1,78,000 per semester, giving ₹2,23,000 with its ₹45,000 joining charges. Its ₹16,89,000 course total is ₹99,000 below the Mesra main-campus CSE group. Hostel charges differ by campus too, so this academic-fee difference alone does not establish the difference in total living costs.
For the listed ₹3,72,000 BSc programmes, ₹38,000 in first-semester academic fees plus ₹25,000 in joining charges gives an initial ₹63,000. Noida’s BCom Financial Analytics programme begins at ₹48,000 per semester and has the same ₹25,000 joining component, giving ₹73,000. The precise programme and campus named in the admission offer determine which schedule applies.
NRI, OCI and Foreign National Fees
The 2026–27 NRI, OCI and foreign-national schedule uses US dollars. Its semester amounts include tuition, institute fees and hostel charges, but exclude food. The SAARC column applies to foreign nationals from SAARC countries.
| Programme group | NRI / OCI and non-SAARC foreign national, per semester | SAARC foreign national, per semester |
|---|---|---|
| BTech / BHMCT; MBA | USD 4,500 | USD 3,825 |
| MTech / MUP / MCA | USD 4,000 | USD 3,400 |
| MSc | USD 3,500 | USD 2,975 |
| Integrated MSc | USD 2,500 | USD 2,125 |
Admission fees are USD 250 once. The 2026 admission brochure also specifies USD 300 once for IT and digital infrastructure for the BTech, BHMCT and integrated MSc categories. The fee page lists ₹30,000 mess advance and ₹5,000 refundable hostel caution money at joining. Concessional semester rates for meritorious foreign nationals depend on the programme and approved award.
The domestic and international fee tables include different components. The international semester rates already cover hostel seat rent, electricity and transport, while the domestic course totals above exclude those accommodation charges. Adding the domestic hostel table to an international semester fee would therefore duplicate those components. Food remains outside the international semester rate.
The dollar-denominated academic payments and rupee-denominated mess advance and hostel caution should be recorded separately. A rupee estimate for the dollar amount depends on the exchange rate and payment charges at the time of remittance. No fixed rupee conversion is used here, and a concessional rate should enter the budget only after the institute confirms the award.
Scholarships and Tuition Fee Waivers
The institute’s BTech and BArch scholarship information lists 50%, 75% and 100% tuition fee waivers based on JEE Main merit and the applicable category conditions. The first-semester award and its continuation have separate rules: continuation depends on GPA under institute norms.
A tuition waiver reduces tuition only. For a CSE, AI and Machine Learning or ECE student in the first semester, a 50% award would reduce the ₹1,69,000 tuition component by ₹84,500. Development fees, examination fees and joining charges remain outside that calculation. The actual concession follows the institute’s award.
The 2026 postgraduate scholarship conditions provide for funding-agency scholarships for eligible GATE-qualified MTech and Master of Planning students, subject to approval and release of funds. An additional fee waiver of up to 20% may be awarded where the GATE score is better than the 90th percentile.
Selected non-GATE students who receive no fellowship may receive ₹6,500 a month for ten months in the third and fourth semesters. The stated academic conditions include completing the first two semesters without a backlog and securing a CGPA of at least 8 in each semester. Eligible MPharm students with a valid GPAT score may be considered for scholarship support under the funding agency’s approval rules.
The postgraduate notice asks eligible SC/ST and PwD students to submit their scholarship forms to the Registrar’s office by February for processing under the applicable guidelines. Submission is followed by scheme verification and approval.
In the first-semester CSE example, the ₹84,500 tuition reduction would bring the ₹1,89,000 recurring academic payment to ₹1,04,500. Adding the unchanged ₹45,000 joining charges gives ₹1,49,500 before hostel and mess. This illustrates the effect of a 50% tuition award; it is not the standard amount payable by every admitted student.
Scholarship support and a tuition waiver also affect payment planning differently. A waiver changes the eligible fee component, while a monthly scholarship provides support under its own approval and disbursement conditions. The non-GATE support described above concerns the third and fourth semesters, so it should not be deducted from the first-semester admission payment. Later-semester concessions depend on meeting the relevant continuation conditions.
