  2. Find the notice for the course, semester and exam month.

What the Dibrugarh University Result Sheet and Grade Card Show?

The PDF result sheet and the grade card carry different details. The table below compares them.

Detail Result Sheet PDF Grade Card
Roll numbers of passed students Yes, college-wise Own roll number only
Appeared, passed and pass percentage Yes, for each college No
Course titles and letter grades No Yes
Grade points, SGPA and CGPA No Yes

The result sheet also splits figures by male, female and transgender candidates. Colleges with no appeared or passed students do not appear in it.

Dibrugarh University Grading System and SGPA Calculation

FYUGP results use a 10-point grading scale. This comes from the FYUGP Regulations, 2023. A student needs at least a P grade in every course to pass. The end-semester exam also needs at least 30 percent marks.

Letter Grade Meaning Grade Point Marks
O Outstanding 10 90 percent and above
A+ Excellent 9 80-90 percent
A Very Good 8 70-80 percent
B+ Good 7 60-70 percent
B Above Average 6 50-60 percent
C Average 5 40-50 percent
P Pass 4 30-40 percent
F / Ab Fail / Absent 0 Below 30 percent or absent

How SGPA and CGPA Are Calculated?

SGPA is the sum of credit multiplied by grade point, divided by total credits. CGPA uses the same method across all semesters. Both are rounded to two decimal places.

Example: A student earns 167 credit points from 22 credits in a semester. The SGPA is 167 divided by 22, which is 7.59.

To convert CGPA into percentage, the university multiplies CGPA by 10. B+ and above counts as First Class, and B counts as Second Class. PG programmes under CBCS follow a separate 2021 grading notice. There, A and above counts as First Class.

Withheld Results and Common Result Problems

Some students do not find their roll number in the list. The usual reasons and fixes are below.

  • 6th semester result withheld: This happens when an earlier semester paper is still uncleared. The university releases the result after the backlog is cleared. It posted clearance lists for BA 6th semester on July 6, 2026.
  • Grade card not showing: The ABC ID may not be linked to Samarth. Linking it fixes the download.
  • Wrong portal: Pass lists appear only on dibru.ac.in. FYUGP grade cards for affiliated colleges sit on Samarth.
  • Error in the result: The student informs the Controller of Examinations within one month.

Students who fail a course get an F grade. They reappear in that course in the next regular exam. Up to the 5th semester, the student still moves up. The failed paper is carried over.
