CUET PG Economics and Legal Awareness Handwritten Notes, free to download as a 20-page PDF. The topic is worth about 6 to 10 marks and takes roughly one day to learn, so treat it as a single focused sitting.
The notes are scans of a real notebook: short lines, boxed rules, and a margin note wherever something is easy to get wrong.
CUET PG General Paper Structure
COQP11 carries 75 bilingual questions across five official sections. This set takes four of the twelve domains inside Unit 2: the national and international economy, economics, trade awareness and legal awareness.
| Unit | Official section |

| 2 | General Knowledge/Awareness |
| 3 | Computer Basics |
| 4 | General Aptitude & Logical Reasoning |
| 5 | Logical Reasoning |
What the Notes Cover
- GDP against GNP, nominal against real, and the two deficits
- Inflation, deflation, disinflation and stagflation, kept apart
- The Reserve Bank: repo, reverse repo, CRR, SLR and the Monetary Policy Committee
- Who regulates what, from SEBI and IRDAI to the CCI
- Budget vocabulary, direct against indirect tax, and GST
- The IMF, World Bank, WTO and the regional development banks
- Balance of trade against balance of payments, and FDI against FPI
- Legal basics, the maxims, and the laws worth knowing by name
How to Approach the Section
Almost every question here is a definition or an institution, not a number. You are not asked this year's growth rate. You are asked which body sets the repo rate and what repo means, and those answers do not change.
Keep the paired terms apart deliberately, because that is where the marks are decided. CRR sits with the RBI as cash while SLR stays with the bank. Balance of trade counts goods only while balance of payments counts everything.
On the legal side, the maxims repay learning outright. Ratio decidendi binds and obiter dicta does not, and that one distinction is the examiner's favourite.
Common Mistakes
- Swapping CRR and SLR
- Calling disinflation a fall in prices. It is a slower rise
- Treating balance of trade and balance of payments as the same thing
- Getting depreciation backwards. A weaker rupee makes exports cheaper and imports dearer
- Calling NITI Aayog a regulator. It advises and regulates nothing
- Calling Public Interest Litigation an Act. It is a judicial practice, not a statute
- Attributing the Human Development Index to the World Bank. It is the UNDP

How to Use These Notes
Page 5 is the regulator matching table and page 12 the legal maxims. Both appear in almost every paper and both are answered from a single page.
Page 19 collapses the whole set into nine pairs, which is a workable last-hour revision.
History, the Constitution and politics are in the first Unit 2 set, and geography, culture and science in the third.
CUET PG Economics and Legal Awareness Notes FAQs
Ques. Does CUET PG test economics numbers?
Ans. Rarely. The questions are definitions and institutions: what a term means and which body does what. That is why these notes carry no growth or inflation figures, which would date immediately.
Ques. What is the difference between CRR and SLR?
Ans. CRR is the share of deposits a bank holds as cash with the Reserve Bank. SLR is the share it holds itself in liquid assets such as gold or approved securities. Raising either reduces how much a bank can lend.
Ques. Is NITI Aayog a constitutional body?
Ans. No. It was created by a cabinet resolution in 2015, replacing the Planning Commission, and it is an advisory think tank rather than a regulator. Both points are commonly planted wrong answers.
Ques. What legal awareness does the syllabus include?
Ans. NTA lists legal awareness as one of the twelve general knowledge domains without breaking it down, so these notes stay with the settled basics: civil against criminal law, the burden of proof, the standard maxims, and the major Acts by name.
Ques. Can the notes be downloaded free?
Ans. Yes. All 20 pages can be read on this page and downloaded at no cost.
