TS PGECET 2026 M.Pharmacy and Pharm.D Counselling Eligibility: Qualifying Marks, Age Limit and Approved Institutions

TS PGECET 2026 Qualifying Marks for M.Pharmacy and Pharm.D

TS PGECET is a 2-hour computer-based test with 120 multiple-choice questions each carrying 1 mark (total 120 marks). The Pharmacy stream paper is common for both M.Pharmacy and Pharm.D PB admissions. OC and BC category students must secure at least 30 out of 120 marks — that is, 25% — to be eligible for TS PGECET 2026 counselling. SC and ST students face no minimum qualifying mark requirement and only need to have appeared in the exam to be assigned a rank.

A valid TS PGECET 2026 rank card is mandatory for counselling registration. OC/BC students who did not reach 30 marks will not be assigned a rank and cannot participate in merit seat allotment.

Academic Eligibility Criteria for M.Pharmacy and Pharm.D PB

Both M.Pharmacy and Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate require a B.Pharmacy degree as the base qualification. The minimum aggregate requirement is the same for both programs and varies by category.

M.Pharmacy

• Must have passed B.Pharmacy (4-year program) from a university recognised by AICTE and the Pharmacy Council of India.
• Minimum 50% aggregate marks in B.Pharmacy for OC, BC, and EWS students.
• Minimum 45% aggregate marks for SC and ST students.
• Final-year B.Pharmacy students may provisionally register for counselling and must produce their passing certificate and final marksheet at the time of seat allotment.

Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate (Pharm.D PB)

• Must have passed B.Pharmacy (4-year program) from a PCI-recognised institution.
• Minimum 50% aggregate marks in B.Pharmacy for OC/BC/EWS; 45% for SC/ST.
• Pharm.D PB is a 3-year clinical pharmacy program approved by the Pharmacy Council of India requiring full-time enrolment including hospital rotations.
• Students already enrolled in or having completed the 6-year integrated Pharm.D program are not eligible for Pharm.D PB seats through TS PGECET.

GPAT Scorecard as Alternative Qualification

Students who did not appear in TS PGECET 2026 can still participate in M.Pharmacy and Pharm.D PB counselling if they hold a valid GPAT scorecard. A valid GPAT 2024, GPAT 2025, or GPAT 2026 scorecard is accepted as an alternative to the TS PGECET rank for pharmacy PG admissions in Telangana.

GPAT-qualified students must meet the same B.Pharmacy aggregate requirement (50% for OC/BC/EWS; 45% for SC/ST) and must satisfy the domicile and category norms applicable under TS PGECET 2026 counselling rules.

Age Limit and Domicile Requirements

There is no upper or lower age limit prescribed for M.Pharmacy or Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate admissions through TS PGECET 2026. Students of any age who satisfy the qualifying marks and academic eligibility criteria are eligible for counselling.

TSCHE classifies students into local and non-local categories based on their study history:

• Local area candidates: Students who studied in Telangana for at least four consecutive years before the qualifying exam, or whose parents are domiciled in Telangana per relevant government orders.
• Non-local candidates: Students from outside Telangana compete only for the non-local quota (generally up to 15% of total seats per university).
• Special category seats: NCC, sports, PH (Persons with Disabilities) and ex-servicemen students have reserved seats as per TSCHE norms.
