Durham College admissions open pathways for Indian students across diploma, honours bachelor and graduate certificate credentials. UG entry starts at a Class XII pass around 65 percent, while graduate certificates require a completed bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Next live deadline: Fall 2027 (September) primary intake — transcript deadline 1 February 2027, with rolling review before then.
- Base tuition: CAD 15,572 to CAD 20,576 per year (₹10.71 to ₹14.15 Lakhs), plus a CAD 100 (₹6,877) application fee.
- Eligibility floor: UG needs Class XII at 65 percent with IELTS 6.5; grad certs need a bachelor’s with IELTS 6.0.
- Acceptance rate: Estimated 38 to 41 percent, based on rolling review across career-track programs; Durham does not publish an official figure.
Popular Indian-student picks include the Applied Data Analytics graduate certificate, the Honours Bachelor of Cybersecurity and Global Supply Chain Management. On the Durham College main Oshawa campus, feedback on the polytechnic teaching model runs positive for career-track programs that lead into Canadian work permits.

Durham College Application Deadlines
Durham College runs three intakes for international students: Fall (September) is the primary intake, Winter (January) is the second largest and Spring (May) opens a smaller set of programs. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis as documents arrive, so early submission matters more than the calendar. The dates below are transcript deadlines for oversubscribed programs, per the Durham College international admission process page.
Durham College’s primary intake for Indian students is September — most of the 140+ programs open here.
| Intake | Level | App Opens | Deadline | App Fee | Portal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Winter 2027 (January) | Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Grad Cert | Rolling (open now) | 1 October 2026 (Closing Soon) | CAD 100 (₹6,877) | Durham International Application Portal |
| Spring 2027 (May) | Select diploma and grad cert programs | Rolling | 1 February 2027 | CAD 100 (₹6,877) | Durham International Application Portal |
| Primary intake — Fall 2027 (September) | All credential levels | Cycle open — rolling | 1 February 2027 | CAD 100 (₹6,877) | Durham International Application Portal |
Planning note: Durham does not run fixed application rounds. A file that arrives in October for a September start is often stronger than one that arrives on 1 February, because seats in Cybersecurity, AI and Practical Nursing fill first.
Durham College Eligibility for Indian Students

Diploma, advanced diploma and graduate certificate programs share the lower English floor, while Honours Bachelor degrees sit one band higher. - Graduate certificate entry: Completed bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the program.

Durham College IELTS Waiver for Indian Students
Indian students from English-medium schools can skip the English test by presenting a Grade 12 English credit at the C or U level, which Durham treats as met by a CBSE, ISC or state-board Class XII English pass in an English-medium school. Prior post-secondary study delivered in English at a Canadian institution, a GED, a CAEC or Durham’s own pre-admission English assessment also work. Send transcripts early so the international team can log a formal waiver decision before your file goes to program review.
Durham College Graduate Certificate Programs

Durham College Application Process
International students at Durham College apply directly through the college’s own portal rather than through Ontario Colleges (OCAS), which handles domestic files. The application is entirely online and the same portal carries the fee, the document upload and the offer.
- Pick your program from Durham’s 140+ offerings and check its specific intake and English requirement.
- Create an account on the Durham International Application Portal, the official platform for international applicants.
- Upload documents — passport, Class XII transcripts, bachelor’s transcripts (for grad certs), English test report — as separate PDF or JPEG files.
- Pay the CAD 100 (₹6,877) application fee on the same portal; the fee is non-refundable and one-time per intake.
- Arrange a WES comprehensive or ICAS course-by-course credential evaluation for your Indian transcripts if you plan to compete for an oversubscribed program.
- Wait for review — Durham confirms receipt by email and typically returns a decision within five business days on a complete file.
- Accept your offer in the portal and pay the first-semester tuition deposit listed on your Letter of Acceptance (LOA).
- Durham files your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) automatically after first-semester payment; use it in your Study Permit application.
Insider note: South Asian applicants (India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) can email documents to sea@durhamcollege.ca. The regional inbox routes faster than the general international address during peak intake weeks.
Durham College Admission Decision Timeline
Durham College aims to issue offers within five business days of a complete file. Decisions arrive by email and are visible on the applicant self-service portal. If a document is missing, the review pauses until the file is complete — a common reason first-time Indian applicants see delays.
- Complete file to decision: Up to five business days once all documents are logged.
- Offer types: Conditional (pending final transcripts or English test) or unconditional.
- Acceptance step: Confirm offer in the portal, then pay the first-semester tuition deposit stated on your LOA.
- PAL request: Durham files your Provincial Attestation Letter after you pay first-semester fees.
- Deferral: Contact the international team; deferral is not automatic and depends on program capacity in the target intake.
Durham College Documents Required
Durham College asks for a lean document set — no SOP, no LORs. Each file uploads to the applicant portal as a separate PDF or JPEG. Do not compress multiple documents into one file, as the portal reads them individually.
- Passport bio page — valid for the full program duration plus six months.
- Class XII marksheet and school-leaving certificate — with certified English translation if not already in English.
- Bachelor’s degree marksheets and provisional or final degree certificate — required for graduate certificate applicants.
- English test score report — IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, Duolingo or CAEL, issued within the last two years.
- WES or ICAS credential evaluation — course-by-course (ICAS) or comprehensive (WES), for foreign transcripts under oversubscribed-program review.
- Application fee receipt — CAD 100 (₹6,877), paid on the same portal.
- Prior post-secondary transcripts — required when applying for credit transfer or a pathway.
Durham College Acceptance Rate for Indian Students
Durham College does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Third-party estimates place the figure between 38 and 41 percent, based on rolling-review outcomes across career-track diploma and grad certificate programs. The number moves with program demand — Cybersecurity, AI and Applied Data Analytics grad certs run tighter than general business or arts diplomas.
Is Durham College’s admission truly access-oriented?
Durham’s rolling-review model admits most Indian applicants who clear the academic and English floors early in the cycle. That said, oversubscribed programs like Practical Nursing, Dental Hygiene and Paramedic apply competitive shortlisting on WES-verified transcripts, so a strong Class XII score matters more than a strong personal statement here (there is no SOP requirement).
Which Durham College programs are most competitive?
Regulated health programs, Honours Bachelor of Cybersecurity, Honours Bachelor of AI and the Applied Data Analytics grad certificate see the highest Indian-applicant demand. Apply at least three months before your target intake to hold a competitive spot; late applicants often move to a waitlist or the next intake.
Insider note: Practical Nursing, Dental Hygiene and Paramedic seats fill first — plan for the earliest intake with a complete file, not the closest deadline. Read on-the-ground student reviews of Durham College to gauge program-level fit before locking your choice.
Canada Student Visa for Durham College Students
Indian students admitted to Durham College apply for a Canadian Study Permit through IRCC after receiving their Letter of Acceptance. Durham files your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) once first-semester tuition is paid — the PAL is mandatory for every study permit application submitted on or after 22 January 2024, Ontario post-secondary applicants included.
Financial proof for the study permit sits at CAD 20,635 per year (₹14.20 Lakhs) in living costs above tuition, the IRCC benchmark for 2026, plus paid first-semester tuition. Apply for the permit online after your LOA and PAL are in hand; biometrics happen at a VFS centre in India. Budget three to eight weeks of processing time before your program start date.
Planning note: Book biometrics early — VFS wait times in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru spike between May and August. Have your GIC of CAD 20,635 (₹14.20 Lakhs) and one-year tuition receipt ready before submitting the IRCC application.
Tips and Application Checklist for Durham College
The tips and steps below are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Durham College. They sit in one section because both surfaces share the same rolling-review reality: an early, complete file beats a perfect but late one. Point-in-time actions are dated forward from today.
- Apply 6 months before your target intake — a Fall 2027 file benefits from submission by April 2027, well before the 1 February 2027 transcript deadline.
- Start WES or ICAS 8 weeks early — credential evaluation is the most common cause of delays.
- Book IELTS by October 2026 for a Winter 2027 or Fall 2027 file; Duolingo (110 or 120) is accepted as a faster fallback.
- Use IELTS One Skill Retake if your overall is 6.0 but one band sits at 5.0 — cheaper and faster than a full retake.
- Route documents via sea@durhamcollege.ca — the South Asia regional inbox turns files faster than the general international address in July and August.
- Pay tuition deposit within 30 days of offer to secure the seat and trigger the automatic PAL request.
- File the Study Permit within a week of receiving the LOA and PAL — processing runs 3 to 8 weeks from India.
- Track the applicant portal daily for conditional-offer changes and additional-document requests.
Durham College admissions reward early, complete files: apply through the direct International Application Portal, pay the CAD 100 fee, clear IELTS 6.0 (or 6.5 for Honours Bachelor degrees), and file for your Canadian Study Permit within a week of receiving the LOA and PAL.

Overview
The admission process for college is relatively straightforward. We have to submit an application form, transcripts of all previous academic work, a copy of the PTE test & a copy of the passport and visa application form. I have an admission with the help of the consultant agency CanDream Consulting and Coaching.

- The location enticed me. The reviews and the alumni of the college really appreciated it. The reviews of the faculty also encouraged me to choose this college.
- The best thing about Durham College is its readily available help resources. We have SALS for resume, GET HIRED for helping to find part time and full time job roles. The best thing about Durham is it provides you with DRT (Durham Transit Pass) which most of the colleges or universities does not offer.
- DRT allows you to use the transit which covers 7 regions across going as far as Ajax and Uxbridge. The faculty at Durham has practical experience and has hands on knowledge about what they are teaching. They are also ready to help apart from the schooling hours. Durham also provides for extra classes and is always ready to help. It also celebrated multi- cultural festivals like Holi which felt very inclusive and friendly. The Campus is enormous and beautiful. It has a trail at the back of the college too.
Dislikes
- There is nothing to dislike about the College. The college is so big that it takes time to figure out where are the classes and to reach the classes as well but the time tables are made as such that they give time to reach to different classrooms.
Overview
My overall experience at college/university has been incredibly enjoyable. It's been a time of personal growth, learning, and building lasting friendships. The fun experiences, from making new friends to exploring various aspects of academia and campus life, have enriched my journey and made it memorable.
Likes
- This college was suggesting by my agent. It was not far away from Toronto downtown, however it is in Toronto GTA. So everything is nearby. And it is a growing city so there were lot of other benefits.
Overview
The overall experience was very good. I would rate 8 out of 10. Faculty was very helpful, lots of room for entertainment and relaxation, free tuition classes.
Scholarship
No, diploma courses in Canada don’t have any kind of scholarships except for those who score 7+ bands in IELTS.

- Durham College is a well-known university that offers great programs for both local and international students.
- Durham College is known for its student diversity and inclusion. The teachers are friendly and deliver courses with personalized attention. The course modules are well-structured and cater to the individual needs of students.
Dislikes
- Durham College offers almost zero placements when it comes to landing jobs after graduation. Thus, students have a hard time finding relevant jobs once passing out. I personally think the college has a lot to work on when it comes to student job support.
Overview
My experience at Durham College was pretty great. The teachers were friendly and the courses were well-designed to allow us to learn about each and every aspect of Digital Media Management. We had students from different countries which added to the diversity. Overall, I would recommend future students to definitely check out Durham College if they are considering Canada as their study destination.
Scholarship
I got a scholarship of CAD 1000 for scoring a band of 7.5 in my IELTS. The scholarship was automatically added to my student account once I submitted my IELTS score.
Overview
The period I was applying to study abroad was too late for the specific intake and Durham College was still accepting students so I applied here.
Scholarship
No, I didn't receive any scholarship.
Overview
I had done my Bachelors in the field, other colleges were not providing a three-year course for the program. Having good theoretical knowledge in this field, wanted to get more hands-on practice, which this college was providing. Most importantly they were providing placement options last year, which would give me a broader vision of whether I could survive in this field for the next 20-25 years of my life.
Scholarship
No, i did not get any scholarships.
Overview
I did my bachelors in computer science engineering and ever since I have worked as a Business Analyst. I chose this program to further my knowledge of Analytics and Data. It is a vast field and is highly in demand. I chose to come to Canada as the country is very accepting of immigrants like myself. I love how every festival or event is celebrated here as well. The reason why I chose Durham college was that it was the only college which offered me the course I was looking for.
Overview
When I searched for a new course and college, it was one of my friend in Canada suggested Durham college.
