Loyalist College Application Deadlines 2026-27
Loyalist College runs three intakes a year — September (Fall), January (Winter), and May (Spring) — with September carrying the widest program spread and standing as the primary intake for Indian students. Applications are filed on the Ontario Colleges International Application Service (IAS), the mandatory international portal, per the Loyalist international applicants page.
Loyalist’s primary intake for Indian students is September (Fall) — most programs open here.
| Intake | Level | App Opens | Deadline | App Fee | Portal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Primary intake: September 2027 (Fall) | Diploma, Advanced Diploma, PG Certificate | Early October 2026 | 1 February 2027 (Equal Consideration Date) | CAD 110 (around INR 7,553) | OCAS IAS |
| January 2027 (Winter) | Diploma, PG Certificate | Open now (rolling) | Rolling until seats fill | CAD 110 (around INR 7,553) | OCAS IAS |
| May 2027 (Spring) | Diploma, PG Certificate | Opens November 2026 (est.) | Rolling until seats fill | CAD 110 (around INR 7,553) | OCAS IAS |
The Equal Consideration Date of 1 February 2027 is the point by which Fall applications are reviewed together for oversubscribed programs; applications after that date are ranked in the order received while seats last. Loyalist’s earliest Fall offers are released on 1 November 2026, and offer confirmations are due by 1 May 2027.
Planning note: Apply on OCAS IAS within two weeks of the portal opening in October 2026 for high-demand programs like AI and Data Science, Business Accounting, and Biotechnology, since Ontario colleges fill oversubscribed programs before the equal-consideration date.
Loyalist College Eligibility Criteria for Indian Students
Loyalist College follows the standard Ontario public-college eligibility framework, with academic thresholds set by credential level and an English-proficiency floor that differs for diploma applicants versus graduate certificate applicants. All figures below come from Loyalist’s international admission requirements page.
- Diploma / Advanced Diploma entry: Class XII (CBSE, ICSE, or state board) with 65% or higher in aggregate, plus any program-specific subject prerequisites (English at Class XII level is standard).
- Graduate Certificate (PG) entry: A completed three-year or four-year Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, generally with 60% or a 2.5 GPA equivalent.
- Work experience: Applicants who graduated more than two years ago must submit an employment letter or resume covering the gap.
Loyalist English Language Requirements
Loyalist accepts a broad set of English proficiency tests. Diploma applicants meet a lower floor than PG certificate applicants, and no band may fall below the stated minimum.
| Test | Diploma Minimum | PG Certificate Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| IELTS Academic | 6.0 overall, no band under 6.0 | 6.5 overall, no band below 6.0 |
| TOEFL iBT | 80 (min 20 per section) | 84 (min 21 per section) |
| Duolingo English Test | 105+ (no band below 90) | 115+ (no band below 100) |
| CAEL | Overall 60, writing 60 | Overall 70, writing 60 |
| Cambridge English | C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency | C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency |
Loyalist IELTS Waiver for Indian Students
Indian applicants who have completed their most recent qualification in a fully English-medium institution can request an English test waiver by submitting a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from the school or university confirming English as the sole medium of instruction. CBSE and ICSE Class XII certificates carrying English as first language are generally accepted for the diploma floor; PG applicants still need an MOI on university letterhead. Waivers are reviewed case by case by the Loyalist admissions office.
Note: Program-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official Loyalist College page for your chosen program before applying.
Loyalist College PG Certificate Programs for Indian Students

Loyalist College Application Process on OCAS IAS
All Indian applicants apply through the Ontario Colleges International Application Service (IAS), not the domestic ontariocolleges.ca portal. The IAS platform is the only route Loyalist recognises for international applications and its cycle for Fall 2027 opens in early October 2026.
- Create an OCAS IAS account on international.ontariocolleges.ca as a direct applicant or through an approved education agent.
- Select Loyalist College and pick up to five programs on a single IAS application.
- Upload documents: passport, Class XII / Bachelor’s transcripts, degree certificate, IELTS or equivalent score report, resume, and a WES or ICAS credential evaluation if requested.
- Pay the application fee of CAD 110 (around INR 7,553) via Flywire on the OCAS IAS portal.
- Submit the application and monitor the IAS dashboard for status updates.
- Download your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from IAS on approval, then confirm the offer inside the portal.
- Pay the tuition deposit set in your LOA and proceed to the Canada study permit application.
Insider note: Submit your OCAS IAS application in one sitting rather than saving partial drafts — the platform’s session timeout can drop uploaded transcripts, and Loyalist reviews only completed submissions.
Loyalist College Admission Decisions and Offer Timeline
Loyalist reviews international applications on a rolling basis for January and May intakes and on the Ontario equal-consideration cycle for Fall. Offer decisions are pushed to the OCAS IAS dashboard and mirrored to the applicant’s email.
- Earliest Fall offer date: 1 November 2026 for Fall 2027 applicants who submit early on OCAS IAS.
- Equal-consideration decisions: released through February and March 2027 for applications received by 1 February 2027.
- Offer confirmation deadline: 1 May 2027 for Fall 2027 offers; miss it and the seat is released.
- Tuition deposit: due in June 2027 per the LOA, and mandatory before Loyalist issues the study-permit letter used for the visa file.
- Conditional offers: issued when the applicant has met academic thresholds but has an outstanding IELTS score or final transcript. Conditions must be cleared four weeks before program start.
Deferrals are available on request within one intake cycle without a fresh application fee; a second deferral triggers reapplication on OCAS IAS.
Loyalist College Documents Required for Indian Students
The Loyalist admissions team uploads decisions on OCAS IAS only after a complete document set is received. Missing paperwork is the single biggest reason applications sit in review beyond four weeks.
- Valid passport (biodata page, at least 18 months of validity beyond intake start).
- Class XII marksheet and passing certificate for diploma applicants; Bachelor’s marksheets, degree certificate, and consolidated transcript for PG certificate applicants.
- Certified English translation of any transcript not issued in English.
- WES or ICAS credential evaluation report if requested for the chosen program.
- English proficiency score report (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Duolingo, CAEL, Cambridge, or OI Digital) issued within two years of the intake.
- Updated resume and employer letter for applicants with a study gap of over two years.
- Statement of Purpose tailored to the program and Loyalist’s Belleville or Toronto campus (recommended, some PG programs require it).
- Digital passport-size photograph in the OCAS IAS specification.
Planning note: Order two certified transcript sets from your Class XII board or university at least eight weeks before your OCAS IAS submission, since Indian boards can take four to six weeks to issue attested copies.
Loyalist College Acceptance Rate
Loyalist College does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Independent estimates place it at 50 to 60%, based on Ontario public-college intake patterns and Loyalist’s stated open-admission model for most diplomas.
Why Loyalist Is Considered Accessible for Indian Applicants
Loyalist runs as an access-oriented Ontario public college — that means it admits most applicants who meet its stated Class XII and English requirements, provided the program has open seats. The 65% Class XII floor and IELTS 6.0 diploma threshold are the same for domestic and international applicants, and there is no Indian-quota reduction.
Which Loyalist Programs Are Competitive?
A handful of programs run above the college’s average selectivity. Animation and Game Development requires a portfolio review, and the AI and Data Science graduate certificates cap intake at fewer than 60 international seats per cycle. Nursing pathway seats are extremely limited for international applicants. For everything else, an on-time OCAS IAS application with documents in order is the near-decisive factor.
Insider note: Loyalist’s Toronto campus, run through the Toronto Business College partnership, tends to fill faster than Belleville for business and IT graduate certificates — apply to your first campus preference within four weeks of the cycle opening.
Canada Study Permit Process for Loyalist Students
Indian students admitted to Loyalist College apply for a Canadian study permit under the Student Direct Stream (SDS) or the standard study permit route. SDS delivers faster turnaround (target 20 calendar days) provided the applicant holds a valid IELTS 6.0 overall, has paid the first year of tuition, and carries a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of CAD 20,635 (around INR 14.17 Lakhs) with a Canadian bank.
File the study permit on IRCC’s portal within two weeks of confirming your Loyalist offer. Along with the LOA and GIC receipt, upload the tuition-fee receipt, Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) issued by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities and forwarded by Loyalist, medical exam results, and proof of biometrics done at a VFS Canada centre. Loyalist’s designated learning institution (DLI) number is O19359011932 — this must appear on the study permit application. Post-arrival, register with the international office at Belleville or Toronto within two weeks of landing to activate your OHIP-equivalent insurance and student ID.
2026 update: IRCC’s international study permit cap continues into 2027, so PAL turnaround from the Ontario ministry can take four to six weeks — build that into your visa timeline before the September 2027 program start.
Tips and Application Checklist for Loyalist College
The following tips and steps are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Loyalist College over the past two Fall cycles and the college’s own guidance to international agents.
- Apply within two weeks of OCAS IAS opening in October 2026 for Fall 2027 seats in AI and Data Science, Business Accounting, and Biotechnology.
- Lock the IELTS or Duolingo test at least three months before the equal-consideration date so retakes fit before 1 February 2027.
- Request WES/ICAS credential evaluation in November 2026 if your Bachelor’s is from an autonomous or state university — Loyalist may ask for it during review.
- Order certified transcripts eight weeks before the OCAS submission, since Indian boards and universities can take four to six weeks to attest.
- Prepare a program-specific SOP for PG certificate applications naming the Belleville or Toronto campus — a generic essay is a common rejection cause.
- Pay the tuition deposit immediately on receiving the LOA so Loyalist can issue the PAL for your study permit file.
- Book biometrics at VFS Canada within two weeks of applying for the study permit to avoid the March–May visa peak in India.
- Track OCAS IAS emails daily after 1 November 2026 — missed offer confirmations lapse after 21 days on the equal-consideration cycle.
Loyalist College admissions reward a clean, early OCAS IAS file more than a headline profile — the 65% Class XII floor, IELTS 6.0 for diplomas, and IELTS 6.5 for PG certificates are firm, but hitting the November-to-February window is what turns a match into a Letter of Acceptance. - I think the college degree doesn't guarantee or stands out in profile, it provides foundations and opportunity to collaborate in a team working for projects and assignments.
Dislikes
- I highly doesn't recommend colleges here, just better to go to universities
Likes
- Well, professors are well-educated and bring a lot of knowledge on table during lecture as they come with industry exposure, which seems valuable to gain complicit knowledge and undoubtedly, they are friendly.
Dislikes
- Well, it is okay that they do not have a robust network of industrial placement, except, hospitality and supply-chain programs as it is way peculiar in modern Indian educational institutions.
Overview
I chose this college because of various factors, and the first and foremost thing is the flexibility to adopt a programme curriculum schedule along with proximity to the airport and all major connections concentrating in Toronto. Overall, it was an amazing experience as it built my confidence which I never had back home to deal with random person at university. On top of that, I got a chance to meet with professors, whom I find very friendly though very supportive and kind of peer in nutshell. Last but not the least, it was easy to hang around location and college gave us ample of time to rejuvenate our hobbies and to daunt part-time jobs, which was an Elephant in the room since we landed here in Toronto as job market is little bit unsatisfactory.
Likes
- Because of friendly atmosphere and sweet culture. People from multiple region work here. So I love this place.

Excellent teachers Excellent students Excellent staffs Affordable fees Extra curricular activities

- The college is in Toronto hence you can find a part-time job. The fee structure and level of education was good. The new campus is good when compared to other colleges. The multi-cultural crowd gives you more exposure"
- The Toronto campus at Victoria Park has its own parking and a park with some benches to sit at it has a small cafe and play room along with a library. The study rooms can accommodate bigger class sizes and the professors are friendly with the students. There is a college bus which comes from Brampton for the students.
Dislikes
- The college is not very huge and due that sometimes can be crowded with the students you may not find place in the cafe to eat the lunch. The parking is to be paid which comes to 100 dollars for a month. Not many eating places nearby but you have a Tim Hortons.
Overview
The faculty and the staff was really supportive. The college building had all the departments and places which is required though they were not huge in size but better than most of the other colleges.
Likes
- Location, affordable tuition, Course specifications, the country, future prospects of career.
Overview
The reason why I chose to go to loyalist college was because the area made me feel at home. I came to visit one time and I just knew I wanted to stay here; not forever, but for the time being. I applied to both ottawa and Belleville in accounting and child studies. In the end I just drew a card from the hat and next thing I knew I was attending loyalist. Best decision.
Overview
The college is close to home, as I am a majour home body. It was also intriguing and I heard many good things about the school. It was an all over just more convenient choice for me, and so far I am enjoying myself. I am excited to see where this college takes me.
