Loyalist College Admission 2020-2021, Requirement, Deadline & Acceptance Rate

Loyalist college offers diploma, certificate, and distance learning courses to domestic as well as international students. The college has over 3000 students. These students are enrolled in more than 70 programs. During September 2018 admissions, Loyalist College reported the highest enrolment which was a result of new programs offered by it.

  • Applicants must apply through the university application portal. Applicants might also apply through ontariocolleges.ca, doing so would allow them to apply for 3 courses altogether.
  • International students must provide English proficiency proof in the form of IELTS/TOEFL test scores.

Loyalist college admission deadlines

The priority application deadline stated by the college is 1st February. Some programs take applications until September before the commencement of classes. Also, the availability of a program depends on the time when an application has been made.

Some programs offered at Loyalist are filled quickly. The college recommends applying via early action as it might increase the probability of acceptance to the program of applicant’s choice.

Loyalist College International Admissions

For their transcripts to be evaluated, international students must arrange for credential assessment. After the credentials have been reviewed by the college, the applicant will be informed in case additional documentation has to be provided.

Credential assessment report for international documents can be provided by the International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS) OR World Education Service.

Note*- Applicant must submit a C.V or resume along with application in case there is a gap between education.

Certain certificates are accepted from international students belonging to various countries. Some of the certificates accepted are as follows-

India, Pakistan and Bangladesh- 10+2 certificate with a minimum of 50% marks. Bachelor students must not have more than 8 backlogs.

England, Whales, West Africa and Middle East- General certificate of secondary education. Grades accepted are A, B, C in five academic subjects.

West Indies- General certificate of education with A, B, C grades in five academic subjects. Caribbean Examination Council is also accepted with grades A, B, C in five academic subjects.

Hong Kong- Hong Kong Certificate of Education. Applicants must have standing in five academic subjects or must have a pass standing in 6 subjects. Chinese University of Hong Kong Entrance Examination with a pass in 5 subjects is also accepted by the college.

Candidate applying to Post- Graduate programs are required to submit a proof of completed degree/diploma in a related field. These applicants must have a degree of second class and above.

Visa Requirements

Applicants must submit a visa application to Canada Immigration & Citizenship. There are certain requirements that must be fulfilled by the applicant in order to apply for a study visa.

  • Acceptance letter from an educational institute in Canada is required.
  • Identity proof of the applicant along with photographs and birth certificate is required.
  • An applicant must provide financial support proof – bank statements are accepted.
  • Letter of explanation, stating reasons to apply for a study permit must be provided by an applicant.

Academic standing equivalent to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) must be provided as academic proof by international applicants along with transcripts.

Transcripts must either be translated in English or French. Word to word translation of each document in the same format as original must be provided. Original copies must be sent along with the translated transcripts.

Admission to Loyalist University is determined on academic performance, English proficiency, and transcript evaluation.
