Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is a polytechnic institute. The Institute enrolled more than 11,023 (full-time) and 1,270 (part-time) students for 2018 admissions. SAIT Polytechnic offers more than 1,300 continuing education courses, 100 career programs, and corporate training courses to employees of more than 200 companies annually.

SAIT Polytechnic International Admissions

Aspirants can apply to a variety of applied degrees, baccalaureates, certificate programs and diplomas from all over the world. Students can apply to more than one course at a time, but the application process and fee must be submitted separately for each course. Students who completed their education outside Canada, an international document assessment is required to ensure that all requirements have been met.   • Mark sheet, transcripts, and examination results.
  • Explanation of grading scale.
  • Translated documents (if documents are not in English)
  • Valid Identity Card and name change certificate (If the name has been changed)
  • Standardized test scores for English language proficiency.

English Proficiency Test Scores

All applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency prior to admissions, irrespective of their visa status.

  • Completed three years of full-time instructions in the English language (a minimum of 12 hours/week)
  • SAIT’s English Language Foundations Level 5 completion.

Visa Process for International Students

SAIT offers admissions to aspirants hailing from over 140 countries. Students who do not have Canadian citizenship and are enrolled in a program that is longer than six months require a permit, which is issued by the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Following steps must be followed to acquire a study permit:

  • Apply for the study permit online IRCC website to find the Canadian Visa option. Applicants can use VAC services if its services are available in the country.
  • Applicants must ensure that have a valid passport.
  • Prospective applicants should have their medical exams and biometrics in order, as they may be required to be submitted.
  • Submit all the documents required by the office within the deadline.
  • Lastly, pay the required fees.

SAIT Polytechnic Undergraduate Admissions

SAIT offers more than 300 program courses and over 1,588 continuing education courses. Although the academic requirements for each course are different, the basic admission process is the same.
