Ans. My order of preference will be IIT Roorkee> IIM Sirmaur> XIMB Bhubaneswar> SIOM Nashik. When considering which institution to choose for an MBA, several factors should be taken into account.  Here are some points to consider regarding IIM Sirmaur, IIT Roorkee, SIOM Nashik and XIMB Bhubaneswar:  Parameter IIM Sirmaur IIT Roorkee SIOM Nashik XIMB Bhubaneswar NIRF Management Ranking 2023 98 18 N/A 46 Establishment Year 2015 1998 2005 1987 Average Package 14.45 18.34 14.35 16.64 Recruiting Companies Deloitte, Accenture, Cognizant, Schneider Electric, Hero Motors etc. IDBI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IBM, BHEL etc. Arrow Textiles Limited, Delta Finochem, Atlas Copco India Limited etc. PwC, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Coca-Cola, L'Oreal, Nestle, Tata Steel, Amazon etc. Even though IIMs have a strong reputation in India for their management courses, IIM Sirmaur is quite new. Ques. What is the best choice for an MBA, IIM Kashipur or IIT Roorkee?

Ans. If I leave my biases towards Kashipur as a city aside. I would choose IIT Roorkee over IIM Kashipur. Here are some reasons in support of my decision:-  Older IITs like Roorkee boast a longer legacy and are highly esteemed for imparting quality Management education.  The IIT brand that gets attached to you is an asset that shall forever remain worthy both inside and outside of India. IIT Roorkee is ranked 18th in the NIRF ranking while IIM Kashipur is at 19th. IIT Roorkee has a bigger campus size of 358 acres compared to IIM Kashipur’s  200 acres. MBA started at IIT Roorkee in 1998 while IIM Kashipur was established in 2011. IIT Roorkee has an Average Package of 18.3LPA with IIM Kashipur at 15LPA .Read more

I too had the same options for my Master and I chose IIT Roorkee due to the following reasons:- The IIT brand that gets attached to you is an asset that shall forever remain worthy. IIT has fees of 8 Lakhs compared to fees of 21 Lakhs for XIMB. IIT Roorkee is ranked 18th in the NIRF ranking while XIMB is ranked 46th. IIT Roorkee has an Average Package of 18.34 LPA while XIMB is at 19.53 LPA . MBA started at IIT Roorkee in 1998 while XIMB was established in 1987. IIT Roorkee has better infrastructure and a bigger campus of 358.5 acres.Read more

IIT Roorkee has better infrastructure and has a bigger campus of 358.5 acres. IIT Roorkee is ranked 18th in the nirf ranking with IIM Amritsar at 51th and IIM Bodh Gaya at 53th. IIT Roorkee has an Average Package of 18.34 LPA with IIM Bodhgaya at 13.9 LPA and IIM Amritsar at 16.51 LPA.Read more
