About BMSIT MBA

BMS Institute of Technology and Management in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, offers a two-year, full-time MBA with 120 seats. The MBA department started in 2022, and the college holds a NAAC A grade. A KEA seat costs INR 1.67 Lakhs for the full course without hostel, and INR 4.70 Lakhs with the college hostel and mess. About half the seats are filled through Karnataka PGCET and KEA counselling, and the rest through the management quota. In round 1 of 2026, the last General seat went at PGCET rank 1,364. The 2023 to 2025 batch placed 75% of its students, and the top offer was INR 6 LPA. KPMG, EY and Tesco have hired students from this course.

BMSIT MBA Fees

The total fees with hostel is INR 4.70 Lakhs, while the fees without hostel is INR 1.67 Lakhs. The tuition fee for a KEA seat is INR 1.16 Lakhs for two years. Hostel and mess are extra, and the INR 10,000 hostel deposit comes back when you leave.

Should you pick MBA at BMSIT?

This course suits students who want a business job in Bengaluru and can study on a campus in north Bengaluru for two years.

Pick it if:
You want an audit or consulting job: KPMG and EY hired several students from the 2022 to 2024 batch, and Tesco hired too.
Your PGCET rank is close to 1,364: a KEA seat costs INR 57,750 a year in tuition, and a management seat costs INR 2.75 Lakhs.
You need a hostel on campus: the college hostel puts two or three students in a room, and you pay the mess fee with it.
You want to work in Bengaluru: the department lists more than 60 paid internships for one batch, and most are in the city.
Skip it if:
You want a big alumni network: the MBA here started in 2022, so only two batches have finished and few alumni hold senior jobs.
You want a high package: the top offer fell from INR 12 LPA for the first batch to INR 6 LPA for the second.
You hold only a Kalyana Karnataka quota rank: this quota has just 4 KEA seats here, and most categories got no seat in round 1.
You want a single room in the hostel: every room here is shared by two or three students, even the rooms with an attached bathroom.
Counsellor's advice
If your PGCET rank is close to 1,364, keep this college high in your KEA options. Do not pay a management seat fee before the last KEA round ends.

FAQs on BMSIT MBA

Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.

Is the MBA at BMSIT worth the fee?▾
Yes, on a KEA seat. The full course costs INR 1.67 Lakhs without hostel, and the top offer for the 2023 to 2025 batch was INR 6 LPA. The college does not publish an average pay, so check the placement list with the department before you join. On a management seat at INR 2.75 Lakhs a year, think harder before you pay.
Should I take a management quota seat here?▾
Only if you cannot get a KEA seat at all. The management tuition is INR 2.75 Lakhs a year, while the KEA tuition is INR 57,750 a year. Wait for the last KEA round first, and keep your PGCET options open. If you still have no seat, ask the college for the management fee in writing before you pay.
What job will I get after this MBA?▾
Students from the first batch joined audit, consulting, retail and service firms in Bengaluru. KPMG, EY, Tesco, ABB and Asian Paints are among the recruiters the department lists. The 2023 to 2025 batch placed 75% of its students. Pick your electives in year 2 with the job you want in mind, because recruiters hire by specialisation.
Who should not take this MBA?▾
Skip it if you want a big alumni network or a very high package. The MBA here started in 2022, so only two batches have finished. The top offer fell from INR 12 LPA to INR 6 LPA between the first two batches. If those matter most to you, look at older B-schools with longer placement records.
Is a rank a little worse than the round 1 close safe for BMSIT?▾
Not in round 1, but it can work in later rounds. The General seat closed at 1,364 in round 1 of 2026, and the last 2025 seat went at 1,617. Keep BMSIT in your options with a safer college below it. Use the rank checker above for your own category and quota.
Should I wait for the second round if I already have a seat?▾
Yes, if BMSIT is higher in your list than the seat you hold. Pick Choice 2 to keep your current seat and still wait for a better one. You must pay the fee for the seat you keep. If you pick Choice 1, you join that college and stop waiting.
Is a new MBA department a problem for placements?▾
It is a risk you should know about. The department started in 2022, so it has placement data for only two batches: 85% and then 75% placed. The college itself is older and holds a NAAC A grade. Ask the department how many students from the latest batch got offers before you decide.
Which specialisation should I pick at BMSIT?▾
Pick the one that matches the job you want. Year 2 offers electives in finance, marketing, human resources and business analytics. Ask the department which electives the last batch's recruiters wanted. Talk to seniors in year 1 before you choose.
How do I get admission to the MBA at BMSIT?▾
Write Karnataka PGCET and list BMSIT MBA, college code B137, in your KEA options. KEA allots the seat on your rank. Then pay the fee by the KEA date and report at the college with your original papers. If you miss either date, you lose the seat.
What is the full fee for a KEA seat?▾
The full two-year fee on a KEA seat is INR 1.67 Lakhs without hostel. With the college hostel and mess it comes to INR 4.70 Lakhs. The tuition part is INR 57,750 a year, fixed by KEA. The toggle in the fee block above shows what the hostel adds.
Is there a hostel on campus and what does it cost?▾
Yes, the college has its own hostel at the Avalahalli campus. A normal room with mess costs INR 1.51 Lakhs a year, and two or three students share a room. You also pay a INR 10,000 deposit, which comes back when you leave. Ask the hostel office about room dates when you report at the college.
Can a scholarship pay my tuition fee?▾
Yes, if your category and family income match a state scheme. SC and ST students with income up to INR 2.5 Lakhs can get the KEA tuition fee of INR 1.16 Lakhs back. Category-1, 2A, 3A, 3B and minority students have their own limits. Use the scholarship calculator above and apply on the SSP portal after you join.
