MVJCE Admission Dates 2026

B.E. admissions at MVJCE for 2026-27 are processed through KCET 2026 administered by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) and COMEDK UGET 2026. Both counselling processes are active as of the date of this article. Round 1 allotment is complete and Round 2 is imminent for KCET. COMEDK counselling is in parallel progress for management-quota seats.

PG and PhD admissions run on separate timelines. GATE-qualified M.Tech candidates may apply through VTU PGCET counselling or directly to MVJCE. MBA admissions accept applications on a rolling basis through KMAT / CAT / MAT scores. The table below summarises all admission routes at MVJCE.

MVJCE Courses and Fees

MVJCE offers 17 B.E. specialisations under VTU affiliation. Being an autonomous institution, it designs its own syllabus and examination pattern within VTU framework guidelines. This autonomy allows the college to introduce industry-aligned electives and emerging-technology programmes faster than non-autonomous VTU colleges. Aerospace Engineering is a particularly distinctive offering for a mid-tier Bangalore engineering institution.

Fee differences between KCET-quota seats and COMEDK/management-quota seats are significant. KCET-quota fees are fixed by the Karnataka government and are substantially lower. COMEDK and management-quota seats carry self-financed fees. Aspirants should confirm branch-wise fees at the time of admission from the MVJCE admissions office, as fee revision can occur before session commencement. The M.Tech total programme fee is INR 1.51 Lakhs and MBA total programme fee is INR 1.28 Lakhs.

MVJCE Admission Process

All B.E. seats at MVJCE are filled through centralised processes administered by KEA (for KCET seats) and COMEDK (for COMEDK seats). MVJCE does not conduct its own entrance examination for B.E. Lateral entry (3rd-year direct admission) is through DCET administered by KEA.

B.E. Eligibility

• 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
• Minimum 45% aggregate in PCM (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates under Karnataka reservation norms)
• Valid KCET 2026 rank (Karnataka domicile candidates) or COMEDK UGET 2026 rank (all India)
• JEE Main score accepted for a limited number of management-quota seats through the MVJCE admissions office

KCET Cutoff Context

MVJCE CSE has historically seen KCET allotments in the rank range of 20,000 to 40,000 for the General Merit (2G) category, depending on the year and counselling round. ECE and IS branches typically see allotments in the 40,000 to 80,000 range. COMEDK UGET cutoffs are distinct and draw from a national applicant pool. Confirmed 2026 cutoffs will be published by KEA on the official KCET allotment portal after Round 2 allotment in early August 2026.

M.Tech and MBA Admission

M.Tech admission is through PGCET or GATE scores via VTU centralised counselling. GATE-qualified candidates with stipend eligibility enroll through the AICTE-mandated GATE route. MBA applications are processed through the MVJCE admissions office with valid CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, or KMAT scores.

MVJCE Placements

The 2024-25 placement season at MVJCE recorded a highest package of INR 27.7 LPA. CSE branch saw 198 out of 254 eligible students placed (78%), ECE placed 74 out of 154, and Information Science placed 66 out of 112. IT and software services companies account for the bulk of offers across all branches.

Confirmed recruiters from the 2024-25 cycle include Adobe, Cognizant, Dell, IBM, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. The CSE, AI and ML, and Data Science branches attract the most IT product and services company offers given the college’s proximity to the Whitefield IT belt. Core engineering branches (Mechanical, Civil, and EEE) see participation from manufacturing, construction, and electronics sector employers. The Kadugodi and Whitefield location supports direct industry interaction through neighbouring IT parks, supplementing the on-campus recruitment calendar.

MVJCE’s Training and Placement cell runs year-round aptitude training, mock interview sessions, and domain-specific skill bootcamps. The Career Development Centre coordinates internship facilitation in semesters 5 and 6, providing structured pre-placement industry exposure to B.E. students.

MVJCE Rankings

MVJCE Campus and Infrastructure

MVJCE is located on a 15-acre campus in Kadugodi, East Bangalore, adjacent to the Whitefield IT cluster. The campus includes dedicated academic blocks for each department, a central library with over 60,000 books and 60+ subscribed journals, and an e-library with access to major engineering and science research databases.

The computing infrastructure spans 1,200+ systems across departmental labs and a centrally managed network with a 2 Gbps campus-wide Wi-Fi backbone. Labs are accessible to students outside teaching hours to support project work and certification preparation. MVJCE has 8 VTU-recognised research centres and supports funded industry-collaborative research projects across disciplines.

The sports complex includes a 200-metre athletics track, courts for basketball, volleyball, and badminton, and cricket practice nets. A 3,500 sq ft fitness centre is open to students and staff. The campus has multiple canteens and a medical centre with a doctor on call. Subsidised bus routes connect the campus to major Bangalore transit hubs for day scholars.

MVJCE vs NHCE vs NMIT

Aspirants shortlisting MVJCE through KCET or COMEDK counselling typically also consider New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE), Marathahalli, and Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Yelahanka. Both are VTU-affiliated autonomous private engineering colleges in Bangalore with comparable KCET rank ranges and programme portfolios.

NHCE and NMIT hold NAAC A grades compared to MVJCE’s B++, which may matter to aspirants prioritising accreditation level. MVJCE’s longer institutional history (1982 vs 2001) translates to a broader alumni network. MVJCE’s Kadugodi location shares the Whitefield IT belt with NHCE at Marathahalli, giving both colleges strong proximity to east Bangalore’s tech employer base. NMIT in Yelahanka is better placed for aspirants from north Bangalore. All three colleges accept KCET and COMEDK for B.E. admission and offer comparable CSE, ECE, and Mechanical Engineering programmes under VTU.
