I chose Manet and opted for BSc. Nautical Science which is one of the course in marine field in deck department to get in the field of merchant navy because this college has its own reputation when it comes to quality education.Along with that it has good infrastructure, friendly environment and always have a scope for students to learn new things in their selected course. Yes, it's a truth that the placement record from few years is not as good as expected. You have to work very hard to get placed. So, the college needs to work in this field. But the faculties there, are very experienced and possess wide range of knowledge. They always try their best in their capacity to help each student to acquire knowledge in their respective subject. The facilities related to education are more than expected. A ship in campus is there to provide practical knowledge and make every student capable to deal with every situation which usually occur while you are on a ship. Apart from academics it provide opportunities for those who have interest in sports and consist of various sports mentor to guide students. The college conduct various sports event at college level and state level as well. It helps you to inculcate the officer like qualities which is very much require in this field.
Many companies visited here like Maersk Tankers, MOL, MOLTA, BW, etc. and placed many cadets every year but they need to recruit more cadets. Yes the college provide assistance to the capable cadets to get placed.
Good Infrastructure for marine studies with decent placement history was the driving factor. Faculties are also very trained and experienced. The ship-in campus inside the main campus seemed one of the best in maritime colleges.
BW maritime, Maersk Lines, MOL, Maersk Tankers, Shevron, MOLTA, Five star shipping, MSC, TORM, Synergy Group College select cadets on the basis of 12th PCM percentage along with overall percentage in all semesters and prepare a list which they send to the company. Then companies take a written or online test after which the cadets who pass the exam are selected and then they appear for a technical interview.
Manet is one of the imperial colleges in India presently that provide quality education in the stream of Merchant Navy. Along with an efficient and scenic infrastructure that attracts students to opt for this institute, this college has an erudite and experienced faculty. Some of the experienced faculty here have 40+ years of sailing experience which, they are willing to impart to students who want to pursue merchant Navy as a career. Though marine field is going through a rough patch in terms of placements, this college is committed to provide the best of opportunities and provide an ideal exposure to train competent cadets. Recruiting companies are usually foreign based such as Maersk, MOL, Chevron, MOLTA etc
Merchant Navy is going through a rough patch currently due depreciation in trade across the globe. Companies do visit the campus but they are not recruiting on a large scale. Each company coming to this institute is usually recruiting in single digits. Placement cell has been putting crucial efforts in getting maximum amount of placements to their cadets.
College management is good. But sometimes it forces us to be the part of any university events.
The college is well managed but the only problem is with the placement department everyone is spending 12+ lakhs but not getting job Is a very big problem. I am in the 4th year without any job. So definitely the placement department needs to give opportunity to all the students.
Positive remarks are many not single. Faculty here is very nice. Atmosphere in college as well as hostel is very nice and good for all the things study deciplin and all. Campus is of very high class. Sports in college is very good. The one and only negative thing to say about college is the placement. But its also improving now.
As we discuss about fee structure then I can proudly say college takes less fees among all maritime colleges. Hostel facilities is good but food quality and tasty is below satisfactory level. And Placement is very poor.
Being part of mit adt university there are some disadvantages of not being a regular student. We always need to be in our best behaviour, need to be always dressed in uniform in college function and a high penalty of suspension is followed if presented differently.
Our college is very good and management is also very good but the main problem in her college is the placements.
