Established in 1994, Ponjesly College of Engineering is an AICTE- approved Christian minority college affiliated to Anna University. PCE has a faculty strength of 208, 44 of whom are PhD holders. The college boasts of infrastructure covering an area of 500,000 square feet.
PCE offers seven specializations under the B.Tech course, six under the M.Tech course, and five under the MBA course.
For B.Tech, students who have passed 10+2 in Science are eligible to apply. They have to take TNEA counselling for selection. M.Tech students must have a B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline with 55% marks, in addition to having taken the GATE or TANCET, following which they have to go for TANCA counselling. For MBA candidates, a Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks and appearance in the TANCET are prerequisites.

How to apply for TNEA?
- Visit the Anna University website and fill out the registration form for TNEA.
- A fee will be charged, which has to be paid online.
- Fill out the application with care. Incorrect or incomplete data will result in the candidate’s application being rejected.
- Take out a printout of the application form and send a copy to the Director of Admissions of Anna University.
- After the merit list is declared, candidates have to download the counselling call letter and visit the counselling venue with the necessary documents and a demand draft of 5,000 INR.
- After all processes are completed, an allotment order will be handed to the applicant. At this stage, the counselling fee has to be paid.
- The candidate has to report to their college and submit the allotment order to confirm their admission.

Eligibility criteria
- Candidate should have a B.Tech degree with 55% marks
- For selection, candidates must take the GATE or TANCET, after which they must avail themselves of TANCA counselling.
- If a candidate has taken the GATE, they need not take the TANCET. However, they should still register for TANCA.
- Only GATE scores from 2019 to 2021are eligible.
- B.Tech degrees obtained through distance mode/ weekend courses are not eligible.
- Candidates from outside Tamil Nadu must apply in the open category.
How to apply for GATE?
- Visit the official website
- Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email ID and mobile number.
- After the form is submitted, an enrolment ID will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number.
- Fill out the application form.
- A fee of 1,500 INR (750 INR for women and reserved categories) will be charged. It is to be paid online.
- Download the form and keep a printout for future reference.

How to apply for TANCET?
- Visit the website of Anna University.
- Click on ‘TANCET 2021 Registration’.
- Enter your name, date of birth, email ID and password to generate ID and password.
- Log in again. This time, fill out the TANCET Application Form for 2021.1.31
- Upload a recent coloured passport size photograph.
- A fee of 600 INR (300 for SC/ST belonging to Tamil Nadu) will be charged, which can only be paid online.
- After submitting the form, note down the application number that is auto-generated.
How to apply for TANCA?
- Candidates have to register through online mode only at the Web portal.
- Enter a valid mobile number and email ID.
- Fill out the form
- Upload your photograph as per the specifications given in the guidelines.
- After entering all the details, choose the save/submit button.
- Preview the form and make corrections if required.
- Click submit and move to online fee payment. A fee of 500 INR (250 INR for SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) will be charged.
