Should you pick PGPM at IBS Mumbai?
This course suits students who want a finance or business job in Mumbai and can pay for their own room in the city.
Pick it if:
You did not write IBSAT: your CAT, XAT, NMAT or GMAT score is taken here, so one of those is enough to apply.
You want a finance job: financial services took the biggest share of offers, and KPMG, JP Morgan and ICICI Bank hire on this campus.
Your family can pay only in parts: the fee comes in five parts, INR 80,000 to register and the rest every four months.
You are aiming for a fee cut: a top IBSAT score brings INR 2 Lakhs off, cut straight from the programme fee.
Skip it if:
You are counting on the top pay numbers: the top 10% averaged INR 11.97 LPA while the whole batch averaged INR 7.89 LPA.
You need a room on campus: there is no hostel here, so you rent a PG room in Powai or Navi Mumbai yourself.
You want the fee back inside a year: the average pay is below the full fee, so it takes more than one working year to cover it.
You want a small batch: about 1,000 students join this campus, so on-campus hiring is crowded.
Counsellor's advice
If IBSAT is your only test, apply early and aim for the top score, because the fee cut goes to top scorers. If you already have a high CAT or NMAT score, use it and keep the INR 80,000 aside until the offer is in hand.

Will your score get you a seat at IBS Mumbai?
Pick the test you wrote. Each range starts at the score that brought a call for this campus in the last cycle.
Your test
IBSAT score
80 percentile and above: yes, you should get the call for the selection round.
70 to 79 percentile: almost there. A strong degree record can still bring a call.
Below 70 percentile: not this year. Use a CAT or NMAT score instead if you have one.
CAT percentile
70 percentile and above: yes, you should get the call.
60 to 69 percentile: almost there. Apply early and keep IBSAT as your backup.
Below 60 percentile: not this year. Write IBSAT in December instead.
NMAT score
195 marks and above: yes, that cleared the last General call list.
180 to 194 marks: almost there. The call depends on your degree marks too.
Below 180 marks: not this year. Write IBSAT in December instead.
EDITOR'S NOTE
The call is only the first step. Half the final merit is your past academics, so a high test score alone does not hold the seat. Get your degree marks and papers in order before the interview.

In short
IBS Pune charges the same fee and places more of its batch, but its highest offer is lower. If you want to work in Mumbai after the course, stay with IBS Mumbai; if the city does not matter, IBS Pune is the safer bet.
In short
IBS Gurgaon costs the same and pays a little less on average, but its top offer is higher. If you want a north India job market, pick IBS Gurgaon; if you want finance jobs, IBS Mumbai sits closer to them.
In short
ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai pays more on average but costs a lot more over two years. If the extra fee fits your budget, it is worth the call; if not, IBS Mumbai gives you a Mumbai seat for less.
In short
N. L. Dalmia Institute pays about INR 3.28 LPA more on average, but its fee is close to double. If you can pay that fee and want the higher average, apply there; if not, IBS Mumbai is the cheaper Mumbai seat.
Fees and pay can change. Check each college site before you decide.

ICFAI Business School (IBS) offers a competitive and comprehensive admission process starting with the IBSAT entrance exam, followed by GD and PI rounds. Results are released by April, with the academic session commencing in June. Besides IBSAT, scores from NMAT, CAT, CMAT, GMAT, and MAT are accepted. With a 97% placement rate, IBS, especially its Mumbai and Hyderabad campuses, is highly reputed. Admission requires top percentile scores, emphasizing both past academics and GD/PI performance.
IBS boasts a 25:1 student-faculty ratio, employing around 300 faculty members, 80% of whom are from prestigious institutions or have significant industry experience. The curriculum focuses on practical knowledge through case studies and personalized mentoring, though improvements in teaching methods are suggested. The program fee for IBS Mumbai's PGPM is around 8 to 9.09 lakh INR for two years, with a 10,000-rupee refundable deposit. Fees are payable in installments, with an initial deposit of 80,000 rupees required.
Financial assistance includes scholarships up to 1 lakh INR for top performers and part-time job opportunities on campus. IBS Mumbai's placement record is strong, with 95-98% of students placed annually. Over 200 companies, including JP Morgan and Deloitte, visit for recruitment, offering an average salary package of 6-7 lakh INR, with top domestic packages reaching 18.80 lakh INR and international ones up to 50 lakh INR. Pre-placement training and summer internships are integral, with stipends up to 25,000 INR.
The non-residential program necessitates students arrange their accommodation, and the fee structure is seen as feasible with its transparent installment system and financial support options.

IBS Mumbai: 1 Answered Question
Which college is better? IBS or Athena school of management for PGDM course in Mumbai?
Akriti Guptalives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
I would suggest you choose Athena over IBS. While both are in Mumbai, their teaching methods are very different. IBS emphasizes batch size, quantity (1000 students for the Mumbai college), a highly easygoing college life, and a curriculum with only one internship. Because there are no international internships or exchange programs, global exposure is not prioritized.
Athena focused on Corporate Connect, Quality of Intake (only 60 to 70 students), and a very demanding and busy education with many internships. There is a lot of foreign exposure with two overseas immersions and one international internship.
When it comes to jobs and placements, Athena has an average of 7.00 lacs each year and a large number of Pre Placement Offers. This means that all of their students receive jobs, with the exception of those who opt not to go through the placement procedure. IBS earns an average of 6-7 lacs a year, yet 200-250 students do not get jobs. This is a major issue when there are so many new students each year.
