ISB Hyderabad Campus and Infrastructure

The ISB Hyderabad campus spans 260 acres at Gachibowli, on the western edge of Hyderabad near the Hitec City technology corridor. The campus is certified by the Indian Green Building Council and was designed by architect Vikram Lall. It is a fully residential campus for PGP participants during the programme year.

Key facilities on the Hyderabad campus include:

  • Academic Centre — lecture halls, case study rooms, faculty offices, learning resource centre, and a 400-seat auditorium
  • Four student villages, each accommodating 130 to 210 students
  • Recreation Centre — swimming pool, tennis courts, indoor basketball court, gymnasium, football ground, badminton courts, squash courts, and table tennis
  • On-campus housing included in the PGP residential format

The Mohali campus, inaugurated in 2012 and designed by Perkins Eastman Architects, is Wi-Fi enabled and hosts research institutes including the Max Institute of Healthcare Management and the Bharti Institute of Public Policy. ISB also maintains a presence in Delhi for the PGPpro cohort. The Hyderabad location gives the institution proximity to Hyderabad's technology and pharmaceutical industry cluster, which is reflected in ISB's recruiter base.

The IIMs serve fresh graduates and early-career professionals with a two-year immersive experience and stronger alumni depth in domestic government and corporate roles.

ISB Hyderabad FAQs

Ques. Is ISB Hyderabad better than IIM Ahmedabad?

Ans. It depends on your profile and goals. ISB is designed for working professionals and offers a one-year programme accepting GMAT and CAT scores. It ranked 12th globally in the FT MBA Rankings 2026, the highest ever by an Indian institution. IIM Ahmedabad is a two-year programme primarily for CAT-qualified candidates, ranked 1st in NIRF Management 2025. If you have 4 or more years of work experience and want international MBA equivalence, ISB is often the preferred choice. If you are a fresher or early in your career, IIM Ahmedabad has broader domestic placements and a longer alumni network.

Ques. Does ISB Hyderabad have a NIRF rank?

Ans. No. ISB Hyderabad does not participate in NIRF because it is a not-for-profit autonomous institution, not a university or deemed university. NIRF participation requires institutions to submit data through a defined government framework. ISB has not submitted data and therefore does not appear in any NIRF category. Its primary national ranking reference is the Collegedunia MBA Rankings, where it holds 4th position out of 350 colleges in 2026.

Ques. What GMAT score is needed for ISB Hyderabad PGP?

Ans. ISB does not publish a minimum GMAT cutoff. Most admitted candidates in recent batches have scored between 680 and 730 on the GMAT. A score above 700 significantly improves your chances. ISB also accepts GRE and CAT scores. Work experience, essays, and interview performance matter as much as the test score.

Ques. What is the average salary after ISB Hyderabad PGP?

Ans. The average CTC for the PGP Class of 2026 was INR 37.29 LPA, a rise of 11% over the previous year. The highest offer was INR 1.56 crore per annum. Top recruiters include McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Accenture, Mastercard, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, and Google. Consulting and Technology together account for over 60% of all offers.

Ques. What is the total fee for ISB Hyderabad PGP?

Ans. The total fee for the one-year PGP at ISB Hyderabad is INR 44.45 Lakhs. This covers tuition, learning resources, and a portion of on-campus residential costs. Education loans are available through partner banks at interest rates in the 6.75% to 8.75% range. Approximately 25% of students receive financial support through ISB scholarships.

Ques. What is the ISB Hyderabad PGP Class of 2028 application deadline?

Ans. The PGP Class of 2028 has three application rounds. Round 1 closes on September 20, 2026. Round 2 closes on December 6, 2026. Round 3 closes on January 17, 2027. Applying in Round 1 is recommended for scholarship consideration and early processing. Applications submitted after a round deadline roll automatically into the next round.

Ques. Is ISB Hyderabad a degree-granting institution?

Ans. No. ISB is not a university or deemed university. It awards a certificate of graduation rather than a formal degree. The PGP is widely recognised as an MBA equivalent by Indian and global employers, and ISB holds triple accreditation from AMBA, EQUIS, and AACSB. However, if you need a government-recognised degree for purposes such as public sector employment or certain civil service exams, ISB's certificate may not qualify.

Ques. Does ISB Hyderabad offer scholarships?

Ans. Yes. ISB offers multiple scholarship categories for the PGP, covering merit, need-cum-merit, and diversity profiles. The Taparia Family Scholarship offers five full tuition waivers per year. The Bajaj Auto Scholarship gives three 100% tuition waivers to merit-based candidates. Need-cum-merit candidates with family income below INR 8 Lakhs can receive a 100% tuition waiver. Armed Forces personnel receive a 50% waiver automatically. Approximately 25% of each PGP batch receives some form of financial support.

ISB Hyderabad: 157 Answered Questions

Which institute is better, ISB or IBS in Hyderabad?

Bhaskar Das
Sanjay Tiwari

ISB vs IBS Hyderabad — very different institutions despite both being in Hyderabad:

ISB (Indian School of Business, Hyderabad):

  • one of India's top MBA institutions — ranked in FT Global MBA top 30-50. one-year MBA (PGP)
  • partnered with Wharton, Kellogg, London Business School
  • admission: strong GMAT (700+ typically) + 4+ years work experience
  • avg salary post-ISB: Rs.30-35 LPA CTC. top salaries Rs.80+ LPA
  • target profile: experienced professionals wanting to fast-track careers, especially in consulting, finance, leadership roles

IBS (ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad):

  • much less prestigious institution. 2-year MBA. no GMAT requirement — IBSAT entrance exam
  • placement outcomes significantly lower than ISB
  • for students who can't access IIM-tier institutions

verdict: these aren't comparable. ISB is a top-tier global B-school. IBS is a decent but unremarkable option. if you have the profile for ISB — ISB is the obvious choice. if you're choosing between IBS and ISB: ISB is in a completely different league. the names sound similar but the institutions are worlds apart in quality and outcomes.

Which of the following is better in terms of placements: IIM K, IIM I, ISB, FMS or XLRI?

Neha Uniyal
Rishabh SinghLives in banglore

ISB caters to working professionals with more than 2 years of experience. If you do not belong to this category, this institution is not for you.

Now coming to the other options,

The HR program of XLRI is very old and renowned. Because of it, XLRI receives a slightly higher number of recruiters. This boosts its average package. Its limited batch size also benefits its placements. IIMK, FMS and XLRI receive more or less the same companies. But IIMK and XLRI attract MBB (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) for their front end roles, which IIMI and FMS do not.

Considering all these factors, XLRI is the best choice, mainly because of its small batch size. It is followed by IIMK and FMS, and IIM Indore comes last.

IIM A or ISB Hyderabad? Which one should I choose now that I have got a call from both of these schools?

Divya SarafLives in Hyderabad

Academics are brilliant at both of these institutes. They both follow case study pedagogy. But they are different from each other in many ways.

Here are some differences between them to help you find a better match for your PGPM-

  1. IIM Ahmedabad is much older, and has a rich legacy. ISB Hyderabad is comparatively new.
  2. ISB follows the European model of 1 year PGPM. IIMA offers 2 year PGPM, and 1 year PGPX.
  3. Even though the fee of PGP is higher at ISB, the course duration is lower at this college. This makes the short term ROI similar for both.
  4. ISB requires a minimum 2 year work experience from its applicants. On the other hand, freshers comprise over 25% of a PGPM batch at IIMA.
  5. The average work experience of an ISB PGPM batch is around 4.7 years, the same for an IIMA PGPM batch is less than 2 years.
  6. Recruiters at IIMA seek candidates with a strong academic and extra-curricular record, but low work-experience. This is especially true for marketing firms, which are the biggest recruiters at IIMA. Thus, you might face difficulty in finding roles suited to your profile and experience at IIMA. But in this case, you may consider the PGPX program offered by IIM Ahmedabad.
  7. IIMA PGPM and PGPX courses record higher average salaries as compared to ISB. But this can be explained by the much higher student intake of ISB.

I would recommend you choose the college that best suits your profile and career goals. Both of these business schools are highly renowned and good in their own way.

Which would be a better choice for a one-year MBA in India, IIM Bangalore (EPGP), IIM Ahmedabad (PGPX), or ISB(PGP)?

Karishma Khatri
Aditi BanerjeeLives in Bangalore

All the three options are equally good. The choice depends on your profile and career goals. Here are some details regarding these options to assist you-

  • Student Profile- The target students of ISB PGP and IIM Ahmedabad PGPX are slightly different. ISB prefers professionals with 2+ years of experience, and IIMA prefers those with 4 to 5 years of experience.
  • Ranking- IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and ISB are all highly ranked business schools. They are among the top 50 business schools in the world. All three are at par with one another.
  • Batch size- ISB PGP intakes 500+ students at a time, and IIMA PGPX intakes 100+. A bigger batch size means more opportunities, while a smaller batch size means stronger teacher- student relations.
  • Flagship Program- One year PGP is the flagship program of ISB.

These are some parameters to help you make a choice. All the three are excellent colleges, and you should choose among them based on your personal goals.

Are XLRI and ISB too particular about past academics, like the IIM's?

Divya SarafLives in Hyderabad

XLRI and ISB are concerned about your past academics but not like the IIM’s. In the IIM’s selection process past academic info’s like the results of X, XII and graduation do matters. The eligibility criteria of XLRI and ISB are as follows:

  • The major route for XLRI admission into the PGDM programmes is the XAT, which is followed by an individual interview. For the PGDM-GM programme, XLRI also accepts GMAT and GRE scores. 88 to 95 percentile is the XLRI XAT Cutoff.
  • But along with the XAT scores, Individuals possessing good academic background along with relevant work experience and extra-curricular activities stays in the upper hand.
  • Your former academic standing and how you did on the GMAT/GRE test help ISB (Indian School of Business) to determine how well you can handle the program's demands. Along with the total GMAT/GRE score, the institute also takes into account grades from the 12th grade, graduation grades, post-graduate grades, and certification scores, as appropriate.

While the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) do consider class 10th and 12th marks as part of their admission process, XLRI and ISB prioritize other factors like entrance test scores, work experience, and interviews. XLRI and ISB place less stringent emphasis on school-level marks, focusing more on holistic candidate evaluation in comparison to the IIM’s.

Which is better, ISB Hyderabad or IIM Ahmedabad for 1 year executive MBA??

Anil Tigga
Akriti Banerjeelives in New Delhi

ISB Hyderabad is certainly a better choice than IIM Ahmedabad for a 1 year MBA executive. It has better faculty, an international student profile, an amazing campus, and more than 800 students in a single batch. The admission process is also simpler than IIM Ahmedabad. ISB Hyderabad has a much more diverse crowd than IIM Ahmedabad which usually comprises CS-related people.

PGP-X at IIMA is its flagship program whereas the one-year program in ISB is their main program so it carries more value and more focus is given to that program.

IIM Ahmedabad too has its own perks one of them being its rich legacy of 50+ years and an excellent alumni enterprise spread across the globe. Also, since the batch is smaller the competition is less so the placement opportunities are more. Recruiters coming to hire PGP students also roll out lateral offers for PGP-X students.

Ultimately, choose the one that aligns with your personal preferences and future goals.

There is no right answer to this question as the value of an MBA program can vary depending on individual circumstances and goals. It’s a personal decision and its credibility depends on many factors like -Why MBA, why ISB, and why now?

I have many friends at ISB Hyderabad pursuing an MBA and most of them claim that the efforts they invested while preparing for admissions were worth it. They got placed with decent packages and met many like-minded and smart people. They learned many life lessons in the 1 year. They had the opportunity to interact with more than 50 CEOs of top firms. Most of them claimed that their affiliation with ISB Hyderabad has uplifted their value in the industry as well as the society.

The general opinion of most of them was that the MBA from ISB Hyderabad was worth the time and money invested.

How would you rank the following business schools, ISB, IIM A, B, C, L, XLRI, FMS, and SPJIMR?

Aditi BanerjeeLives in Bangalore

All the aforementioned colleges are among the best B Schools in India so the choice between them depends on your preference and future prospects. You need to determine what exactly you want from the program and where your career currently is.

In general, ISB is for people who have better industry experience, good leadership skills and decent academics. The other B Schools focus more on excellent academics throughout your career.

The ranking of these institutes in my opinion is ISB, IIM-A, B, C>IIM-L, FMS, XLRI,>SPJIMR

The above preference order is based on a number of factors like career progression, college market value perception, quality of faculty, quality of students, academic learning, quality of recruiters and infrastructure.

What is the criterion for admission to the Early Entry Option at ISB Hyderabad?

Rachit Senguptastudied at Indian School of Business

ISB's PGP (MBA) program is divided into two stages:

  • Submit your application (including essays).
  • Interaction (with ISB alumni or the ISB admissions committee)

To apply to ISB, you must have a valid GMAT / GRE score and at least two years of experience. Applicants to the Young Leaders program (YLP) and Early Entry Option (EEO) do not need to have two years of experience to be admitted to ISB.

Needless to say, ISB has a brutally competitive admissions procedure, with thousands of top-tier students from leading undergraduate schools (IITs, NITs, SRCC, CBS, Stephens, and so on) as well as from overseas. To distinguish out in such a talented and diversified application pool (Doctors, journalists, and media professionals also apply to ISB), your essays must be outstanding, clearly bringing forth the story.
