well , I was not a hostler still the reviews i had heard during my college days were - Clear interview to get seat there. - No outing without local guardian or parents permission. - food is good. - the best part of hostel is the students and they only make it unique and joyous . - Cats are the family.
The hostel at Lsr is pretty good. The seats are provided on merit basis. The students in their 1st and 2nd years usually are given a two seater room and the students in their 3rd year are provided single rooms. The students need to maintain a certain percentage to be able to keep their seat. Since the seats are provided on merit basis, another student who applies for the hostel in different semesters will be allotted the seat of the student who is in the same course and has a lower score.
The hostel facilities are excellent, the hostel rooms are sharing and the realtions we make in hostel are priceless, though the pgs near college are really expensive and some of them are even unsafe, the hostep facilities needs to be increased so that it can accommodate more students
in 1st year we have to share a room with another member. in 2nd year we have the freedom of choosing our own roommate. in 3rd year on the basis of merit we are awarded a single seater. the mess facilities are also fine.
The lady Shriram residence hall is the best in the whole of Delhi University in terms of the food and facilities. The food is never of a bad quality and the rules are students friendly. The dean of the hostel is very approachable and like a mother figure.
I'm not a hosteler and neither do I stay in a PG. But I've heard from my hands living in the hostel that the food is very bad and the milk tastes like water. The tuck shop isn't any great either. The cleanliness is maintained in the hostel. For the PGs, it really depends on the PG but most of them are just money making commercialized units.
I live in a PG nearby our college. My room is on ground floor and Its a 3 seater room. There are two other rooms on my floor, both 3 seaters. All the three rooms are AC rooms. There are 2 non-ac rooms in the basement which are 2 seaters. The food is okay according to the rent.
I do not reside in the hostel but from what I have heard about the hostel from some of my friends has made the picture very clear in my mind. The rooms are available on a twin sharing basis. The mess food is very delicious and has a great variety. From seasonal vegetables to deserts, the delicacies are served. However, the hostel facility is very limited. Only very few people get the hostel facility.
The hostel food is yummy amd cheap.. we get four meals a day.. but mot everybody gets the hostel.. the hostel has only 300 seats for almost 3000 girls.. i don't have any idea about the pg since i stay in the hostel of my college.
Not being a hosteller, I don't have much idea for the same. But, from what all I have heard, the allotment of rooms in hostel is based on marks system. Hostel nights are fun with secret santa and various cultural nights. Gate pass system and rules of hostel are kind of strict.
