I cannot really recall many but Mckenzie, Google, PWC, Cognizant, Reach Management were few of the big names. I cannot be sure of the Package structure because i did not get a chance to appear for any interview.
Yes they do with some of the best companies in the country coming in for college placements. Unfortunately i couldn't sit for the interview because I had to pursue my Higher education but my peers had an amazing experiences and a few continue to work with the same Big Industries making it 6 years in a row. The basic stipend according to my knowledge was Rs 3,60,000/- p.a to somewhere around Rs 6,00,000/- p.a

Our course was converted into a food technology course after 2010. Post that, placements were offered from R&D depts of various food companies.
During my time we were not given any stipend. We interned in a food industry a hotel and a hospital in 1st year,2nd year and 3rd year respectively. We could choose the company.
As mentioned earlier, placements are a key factor apart from the faculty while deciding on a college. MOP Vaishnav understands this thoroughly and they line up campus interview during the beginning of last semester. Companies such as Google, TCS, PR firms such as Good Relations, ICPAR, Advertising firms such as BBDO etc were present. The salary offer is anywhere between 15K-40K per month for an under graduate.
Internships are an integral part of the course. Appended is the list of internships i had taken. a) Deccan Chronicle b) Mambalam Times c) Doordarshan d) Good Relations India e) Translated several journals for a freelance firm f) PR Hub etc.
I had not sat for the placements as I was looking to do further studies. I did my post graduation in print journalism from Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media, Bangalore. As far as I know, placements were okay, with around 7-10 industries coming to give in tests. Packages began from 18.5k.
I did not receive any stipend. The internship was to be personally sought and not through college. The experiences were good as we got learn many things, especially about how a newspaper or a broadcast organisation works on a daily basis. We also got to go cover varied events.
We didn't have campus placement for our course however with the acquired skills and knowledge it was not difficult to get placed salary would grow only with experience on this field as per my knowledge.
Summer internships were compulsory the college would help us getting into good corporate food processing brands where we would be acquainted to the real life food processing scenario.
Placement cell is very good the college has several contacts with the corporate world.
Internship was a great experience.
