Established in the year of 1979, Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) was founded by Sri R Dayananda Sagar and is run by the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peeta Trust. The college is an autonomous institute located in Bangalore and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum . 

Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) offers undergraduate engineering programs i.e. Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree. The university offers postgraduate programs that lead to Master of Technology (M.Tech) programme and the doctoral level courses comprise Master of Science (MSc) by research and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes. 

Different admission procedures are conducted by the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) for UG, PG and Ph.D courses. Some courses require an entrance test while others require a merit basis entry.

• Admission to the B.E / B.Tech courses is done through JEE mains or KCET
• Admission to the M.Tech programme is done through GATE
• For admission to the Ph.D / M.Sc (research) courses, VTU conducts ULRAT entrance test

At the undergraduate level, the college offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) programme to the interested candidates. The B.E / B.Tech programme takes four years to complete its duration. The college also accepts lateral entry in B.E programme, which is a second year entry in B.E and holds three years of duration.

To get admission in B.E / B.Tech programme, candidates need to appear any of the entrance exam given below:

• Karnataka CET (KCET), which is conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). For online application form , candidates may refer to official website.
• Joint Entrance Test (JEE), which is an all India common engineering entrance examination conducted for admission to various engineering colleges and courses all over the country. To get online application form of JEE entrance refer to official website.

At PG level, Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering provides Master’s degree programme in Technology, that is Master of Technology (M.Tech). The university offers a wide range of  specializations in M.Tech programme. The programme is offered with the duration period of two years.

In order to get admission to the M.Tech programme, a candidate need to pass in B.E. / B. Tech examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in relevant field of VTU or any other university / institution or any other examination recognized as equivalent.

• Admission to the M.Tech programme are done through the Entrance test conducted by the Visvesvaraya Technological University(VTU) 
• Admission to the M.Tech programme is also done through PGCET / GATE score

Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering M.Sc (Engg.) and Ph.D Admission 2019

At doctoral level, Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering offers Ph.D. and M.Sc by research degrees under various different fields of research.

For admission to the Ph.D. programme, a candidate need to hold a Master’s Degree in Engineering / M.Tech degree of VTU or any other degree recognized as equivalent by VTU. To get admission into the M.Sc (research) degree, a candidate should be a B.E. graduate with research / industry experience leading to publications / patents.

The candidates applying for the Ph.D. and M.Sc (research) courses need to appear for an Entrance test called ULRAT conducted by the university followed by an Interview round. The merit list for the doctoral courses is based on merit of the candidates in ULRAT as well as on the performance in the interview round.
