Ans. No. GMRCET is GMRIT’s own entrance test. It is not the only route. Candidates with a valid JEE Main or AP EAPCET rank are also eligible. Students without any entrance score may be considered on Class XII merit through the holistic evaluation.

Ans. Yes. GMRIT is a Deemed to be University and does not require an Andhra Pradesh domicile. Students from all Indian states and NRI candidates may apply directly at admissions.gmrit.edu.in without any state quota restriction.

Ques. Does GMRIT offer merit scholarships and how much can students receive?

Ques. Is GATE score required for M.Tech admission at GMRIT?
Ans. GATE is the preferred qualifying exam for M.Tech admission. GMRIT also accepts AP PGECET ranks and GMRCET scores. Candidates without an entrance score may apply on UG aggregate merit (minimum 50%). GATE-qualified candidates receive priority in shortlisting.
Ques. What is the application fee for GMRIT admission 2026-27?
Ans. The application fee is INR 500 plus GST, payable online through admissions.gmrit.edu.in. This applies to all programmes including B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D.
Ques. When did GMRIT become a Deemed University and what changes for admission?
Ans. GMRIT received Deemed to be University status in January 2026 via a Ministry of Education notification. As a Deemed University, GMRIT now runs GMRCET and offers direct merit-based admission. Students from all states may apply without relying solely on the AP state counselling route.
