SICSR Admission 2027 runs through three separate entrance routes, one for each level of study.
- B.C.A. and B.B.A. (Information Technology) admission is based on the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) score, followed by an online Personal Interaction round.
- MBA admission is based on the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) score, followed by a Group Exercise and Personal Interaction round.
- M.Sc. (Computer Applications) admission runs on a Non-SNAP application form, followed by a Group Exercise and Personal Interaction round.
- Ph.D. (Computer Studies) admission is through the Symbiosis Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET), followed by a personal interaction.
Postgraduate applications open in August and undergraduate applications open in December on the respective Symbiosis test portals. SNAP 2026 is held on three dates in December 2026, and SET is held on two dates in early May.
Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research is a constituent institute of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), so the entrance test and the institute application are two separate payments. A candidate who pays only the test fee is never shortlisted, whatever the score. Sanctioned intake is 180 seats in B.C.A. and 120 seats in B.B.A. (Information Technology), which makes the undergraduate route by far the largest door into the institute. Detailed program information is available on the SICSR Pune page.
Admission Update
- M.B.A. (IT) and M.B.A. (TM): SNAP 2026 registration closes on November 25, 2026. The separate SICSR program registration closes on January 16, 2027.
- B.C.A. and B.B.A. (IT): SET 2027 has not been notified yet. Registration is expected to open in December 2026.
- M.Sc. (Computer Applications): The Non-SNAP form for the 2027 intake is expected to open in January 2027.
SICSR B.C.A. and B.B.A. (IT) Admission 2027
Both undergraduate programs are four-year degrees under the Four Year Undergraduate Program framework. Each one offers an Honours track and an Honours with Research track. The two programs share one entrance test, one application portal and one selection process, so a candidate may register for both and pay the program fee twice.
Reservation within the sanctioned intake is 15 percent for Scheduled Castes, 7.5 percent for Scheduled Tribes, 3 percent for Persons with Disability and 5 percent for serving or retired defence personnel and their children. Over and above the sanctioned intake, 2 seats are set aside for Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandit families, and 25 percent of seats are set aside for international students. International and Non-Resident Indian applicants are processed through the Symbiosis Centre for International Education.
SICSR B.C.A. and B.B.A. (IT) Admission Dates 2027
SET registration, the test and the result are handled by the university on set-test.org. The institute-level application, shortlist and Personal Interaction follow afterwards on the SICSR portal, each with its own deadline.

No day-level date has been published for the 2027 undergraduate intake. Every month above therefore follows the 2026 schedule. In that cycle registration closed on April 15, 2026. The tests were held on May 2, 2026 and May 10, 2026. The result came on May 20, 2026 and the institute deadline was May 25, 2026. Classes began on July 15, 2026.
Editor's Tip: Do not treat the SET deadline as your only deadline. The institute keeps a second, later deadline for the SICSR program registration and payment, and missing it removes you from the merit list even with a strong score. Diary both dates separately the moment the schedule is published.
SICSR B.C.A. and B.B.A. (IT) Entrance Exam Dates 2027
SET is a 60-minute computer based test carrying 60 questions and 60 marks. There is no negative marking and all sections are mandatory. A candidate may sit up to two tests in a cycle, and the higher score is used for admission.

The 2026 edition was held in the 9.00 AM to 10.00 AM slot on both test days across 68 cities. Program-wise ranks appear in the candidate login only after the program registration fee is paid. Preparation material and the full pattern are covered on the SET exam page.
SICSR B.C.A. and B.B.A. (IT) Eligibility 2027
Both programs accept candidates from every Class 12 stream. There is no subject bar on mathematics or computer science at the undergraduate level.
| Program |
Qualifying Exam |
Minimum Marks |
| B.C.A. - Honours |
Class 12 or an equivalent government approved Diploma in Engineering or Technology |
50 percent, and 45 percent for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates |
| B.B.A. (Information Technology) - Honours / Honours with Research |
The B.C.A. route is the wider of the two, because it also admits holders of a government approved three-year engineering or technology diploma. The Honours with Research track is not chosen at the application stage. A student must earn a 7.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average or above at the end of Semester 6 to opt into it, and lateral entry into the program follows the university rules for Four Year Undergraduate Programs.
SICSR B.C.A. and B.B.A. (IT) Selection Criteria 2027
Shortlisting for the Personal Interaction is done on the SET score alone. Final selection then combines that score with performance in the online Personal Interaction, and the merit list is published program-wise.
The online Personal Interaction stage runs in four parts: registration, document verification, the interaction itself and a feedback step. There is no Group Exercise at the undergraduate level, which separates this route from the postgraduate one. A candidate who misses a booked slot may be disqualified from that admission cycle, and the institute does not reopen slot booking afterwards.
SICSR B.C.A. and B.B.A. (IT) Non-SET Admission 2027
A second undergraduate route opens after the SET merit lists are exhausted. It carries its own institute-conducted entrance test and its own online Personal Interaction, held on three separate dates in the same window.

These months follow the 2026 Non-SET schedule. Registration ran from July 7, 2026 to July 23, 2026. The test and interaction were held on July 10, 2026, July 22, 2026 and July 31, 2026. Merit lists were released on July 13, 2026, July 25, 2026 and August 3, 2026. Eligibility for this route is the same Class 12 bar that applies to the SET route.
SICSR B.C.A. and B.B.A. (IT) Expected Cutoff 2027
SICSR does not publish a closing SET score for either undergraduate program. Each Symbiosis institute sets its own shortlisting bar after the result, and that bar moves with the number of registrations and the difficulty of the paper.
The figures below are expected ranges and not the final scores. They should be read as a planning target rather than a guarantee of a shortlist.
| Program |
Expected SET Score, General Category |
| B.C.A. - Honours / Honours with Research |
30 to 34 marks out of 60 |
| B.B.A. (Information Technology) - Honours / Honours with Research |
40 to 46 marks out of 60 |
Reserved category bars sit several marks lower in both programs. Year-wise movement is tracked on the SICSR cutoff page.
How to Apply for SICSR Admission 2027
The steps below apply to every entrance-based route at the institute, undergraduate and postgraduate alike. The pattern is always the same: a university test form, a separate institute program form, then an interaction round.
- Register on the entrance test portal, which is set-test.org for undergraduate programs and snaptest.org for the M.B.A. programs.
- Accept the terms, fill in personal and academic details and verify the one-time password sent to the registered mobile number and email.
- Pay the entrance test registration fee of INR 2,250 per test for SET or INR 2,550 per test for SNAP, plus applicable government taxes.
- Open the institute selection section, choose Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research and select the programs applied for.
- Pay the program registration fee of INR 1,000 for each program chosen, plus applicable government taxes.
- Download the admit card on the test portal and appear for the test on the booked date.
- Check the scorecard and the program-wise rank in the candidate login after the result.
- Book a slot for the online selection round if shortlisted, within the slot booking window.
- Attend the online Personal Interaction, with the Group Exercise included for postgraduate candidates.
- Check the merit list and waitlist status on the institute website.
- Pay the first instalment of the academic fee before the stated deadline to confirm the seat.
No change is permitted in the application after submission, under any circumstances. Both the test fee and the program fee are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Documents Required for SICSR Admission 2027
Document verification happens inside the online interaction round rather than as a separate visit. Keep clear scans of every item below ready before the slot opens.
- SET or SNAP admit card and scorecard for the relevant cycle
- Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and passing certificates
- Diploma in Engineering or Technology marksheets, for B.C.A. applicants using the diploma route
- Graduation marksheets and degree certificate, for M.B.A. and M.Sc. applicants
- A recent passport size colour photograph, taken within the last six months
- A government photo identity document
- Caste certificate and validity certificate, for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe applicants
- Disability certificate, for Persons with Disability applicants
- Service or discharge certificate, for defence category applicants
- Domicile proof, for Kashmiri Migrant and Kashmiri Pandit applicants
- Passport, visa and equivalence documents, for international applicants applying through the Symbiosis Centre for International Education
A category certificate that is not produced at verification removes the reservation benefit for that cycle. Any information found to be untrue allows the university to cancel the application or the admission at any stage.
SICSR M.B.A. Admission 2027
SNAP 2026 program registration at SICSR covers M.B.A. program. It is a two-year full-time programs, and a candidate may register for both under one SNAP application by paying the program fee twice. Specialisation is chosen inside the program and not at the application stage.
SICSR M.B.A. Admission Dates 2027
The institute has published a full day-level schedule for the 2027 intake, which runs from the SNAP deadline in November 2026 to a session start in June 2027.

SICSR M.B.A. Entrance Exam Dates 2027
SNAP 2026 is a 60-minute computer based test carrying 60 questions and 60 marks. Each wrong answer attracts a 25 percent negative mark, which is the sharpest difference from the undergraduate test. A candidate may sit up to three tests, and the highest score is used for the percentile with no normalisation applied.

SICSR M.B.A. Eligibility 2027
Both M.B.A. programs carry one eligibility rule. A candidate must be a graduate of a recognised university or an institution of national importance with a minimum of 50 percent marks or an equivalent grade, relaxed to 45 percent for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates.
There is no stream bar, so engineering, commerce, science and arts graduates apply on the same terms. Work experience is not a requirement for either program. Reservation within the sanctioned intake of M.B.A. (Information Technology) is 15 percent for Scheduled Castes, 7.5 percent for Scheduled Tribes, 3 seats for Persons with Disability and 5 percent for the defence category, with 2 additional seats for Kashmiri Migrant families and 25 percent additional seats for international students.
SICSR M.B.A. Selection Criteria 2027
Shortlisting is done on the SNAP percentile. The final merit list then runs on a published three-part weightage, so the test score decides half the outcome and the interaction round decides most of the rest.
| Component |
Weightage |
| SNAP score |
50 percent |
| Group Exercise |
10 percent |
| Personal Interaction |
40 percent |
Past academic record carries no separate weight in this split. The Group Exercise and Personal Interaction are conducted online, and the slot must be booked inside the booking window published alongside the shortlist.
Editor's Tip: Treat the interaction round as half your application, because the Group Exercise and Personal Interaction together carry as much weight as the test. If your percentile is only a little above the expected bar, that round is where you make up the gap.
SICSR M.B.A. Expected Cutoff 2027
The institute releases a shortlist rather than a closing percentile, so no official cutoff exists for either M.B.A. program. The expected band for M.B.A. (Information Technology) is about 80 to 82 percentile for the general category, and it has drifted upward by roughly one percentile a year across recent cycles.
That figure is an expectation and not the final score. M.B.A. (Technology Management) is a newer and much smaller program, and no stable band has formed for it.
SICSR M.Sc. (Computer Applications) Admission 2027
M.Sc. (Computer Applications) is the one postgraduate program at the institute that needs no entrance test. SNAP is not mandatory for it, and the application is made directly on the institute website under the Non-SNAP form. Sanctioned intake is 30 seats, and the program is a two-year, four-semester degree carrying 80 credits.
SICSR M.Sc. (CA) Admission Dates 2027
The registration window for this route is unusually long, opening in January and closing only in May. The selection round and merit list follow within a fortnight of the closure.

These months follow the 2026 cycle. Registration ran from January 6, 2026 to May 18, 2026 and the shortlist came on May 20, 2026. The interaction round was held on May 24, 2026 and May 25, 2026. The merit list was released on May 29, 2026 and classes began on June 15, 2026. No admit card is issued for this route, because there is no entrance test to sit.
SICSR M.Sc. (CA) Eligibility and Selection Criteria 2027
A candidate must be a graduate of a recognised university or an institution of national importance with a minimum of 50 percent marks or an equivalent grade, relaxed to 45 percent for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. Selection runs on institutional admission criteria, which comprise the Group Exercise and the Personal Interaction.
The program carries three specialisations: Software Development, Cyber Security and Data Science. A 12-credit industry internship in Semester 4 is compulsory, and Research Methodology, a pilot project and a dissertation are built into the degree. Fee and duration detail is available on the SICSR M.Sc. Computer Applications page.
SICSR Ph.D. Admission 2027
Doctoral admission is handled by the Symbiosis Centre for Research and Innovation rather than by the institute, under the Faculty of Computer Studies. Two intakes run each year, one with a test in December and one with a test in May, so a candidate who misses one window applies for the next.
Admission runs on the Symbiosis Ph.D. Entrance Test followed by a personal interaction conducted online, after which a first merit list and a waitlist are published. In the most recent winter intake, registration ran from November 1, 2025 to November 23, 2025 with the test on December 1, 2025. In the summer intake, registration ran from March 13, 2026 to April 21, 2026, the test was held on May 9, 2026, personal interactions ran from May 22, 2026 to June 3, 2026 and the first merit list came on June 12, 2026. The next winter registration window is expected to open in November 2026.
The application fee for the 2026-27 academic year is INR 2,400 for general category candidates and INR 1,800 for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and differently abled candidates. Reduced fees apply to candidates exempted from the entrance test. Program detail is available on the SICSR Ph.D. Computer Studies page.
Admission queries are handled by the institute office in Model Colony rather than by the test portals. Queries about the test form itself go to the SET or SNAP helpdesk through the Raise A Query option in the candidate login.

SICSR Admission FAQs
Ques. What is the eligibility for B.C.A. admission at SICSR?
Ans. A candidate must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent government approved Diploma in Engineering or Technology from a recognised Board with a minimum of 50 percent marks. The bar is 45 percent for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. Any Class 12 stream is accepted.
Ques. Which entrance exam is accepted for SICSR undergraduate admission?
Ans. Only the Symbiosis Entrance Test is accepted for B.C.A. and B.B.A. (Information Technology). No other national undergraduate test is considered for these two programs.
Ques. Is SNAP compulsory for every postgraduate program at SICSR?
Ans. SNAP is compulsory for M.B.A. (Information Technology) and M.B.A. (Technology Management). It is not required for M.Sc. (Computer Applications), which runs on a Non-SNAP application form made directly to the institute.
Ques. Can I apply for M.B.A. (Digital Transformation) through SNAP 2026?
Ans. The SNAP 2026 institute selection list at SICSR carries M.B.A. (Information Technology) and M.B.A. (Technology Management). A candidate interested in M.B.A. (Digital Transformation) should confirm the route with the admissions office at admissions@sicsr.ac.in before paying any fee.
Ques. How much does it cost to apply to SICSR?
Ans. SET costs INR 2,250 per test and SNAP costs INR 2,550 per test, with government taxes additional. On top of that, a program registration fee of INR 1,000 is payable for each SICSR program applied to. Both payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Ques. Is there a management quota or direct admission at SICSR?
Ans. No. Admission is strictly merit-based through the prescribed entrance and selection process. The university has not authorised any individual, agent or consultant to guarantee a seat, and a candidate who approaches the university through such an agent is permanently debarred from all its programs.
Ques. What happens if I miss my Personal Interaction slot?
Ans. The candidate may be disqualified from that admission cycle. Slot booking is not reopened after the published window closes, so the slot should be booked early inside the booking dates.
Ques. How many seats does SICSR have across its programs?
Ans. Sanctioned intake is 180 seats in B.C.A., 120 seats in B.B.A. (Information Technology), 60 seats in M.B.A. (Information Technology), 30 seats in M.B.A. (Technology Management) and 30 seats in M.Sc. (Computer Applications).
Ques. How many times can I attempt SET and SNAP in one cycle?
Ans. SET allows up to two attempts in a cycle and SNAP allows up to three. The higher score is used in both cases, and no normalisation is applied across attempts.
Ques. Does SET have negative marking?
Ans. SET has no negative marking for wrong answers. SNAP does, at 25 percent of the mark for each wrong answer, so the two tests need different attempt strategies.
Ques. What is the selection weightage for the SICSR M.B.A. programs?
Ans. The composite merit list gives 50 percent weight to the SNAP score, 10 percent to the Group Exercise and 40 percent to the Personal Interaction. Past academic record carries no separate weight in this split.
Ques. Is there a Group Exercise for undergraduate admission at SICSR?
Ans. No. The undergraduate selection round is an online Personal Interaction only, covering registration, document verification, the interaction and feedback. The Group Exercise applies to the postgraduate routes.
Ques. Can I still get into B.C.A. or B.B.A. (IT) if I did not write SET?
Ans. Yes, through the Non-SET undergraduate route that opens in July after the SET merit lists are exhausted. It carries an institute-conducted entrance test and an online Personal Interaction held on three separate dates, with the same Class 12 eligibility bar.
Ques. Can I apply to more than one SICSR program with one entrance test registration?
Ans. Yes. Both the SET and SNAP forms allow multiple SICSR program choices against a single test registration. A separate program registration fee of INR 1,000 is payable for each choice.
Ques. How do international and Non-Resident Indian candidates apply to SICSR?
Ans. Their admission is processed through the Symbiosis Centre for International Education. International seats are over and above the sanctioned intake, at 25 percent of it for every program.
Ques. When does the SICSR M.B.A. session begin?
Ans. The 2027 M.B.A. session is scheduled to commence on June 1, 2027. The undergraduate session begins in July, and the M.Sc. (Computer Applications) session begins in June.
