Class 8 Mathematics Chapter 11 Mensuration – Important Topics
Mensuration is the branch of geometry that deals with the measurement of area, length, or volume in 2D and 3D shapes. Mensuration includes computation using mathematical formulas and algebraic equations.
2D Shapes: Shapes that do not have width or height, but have two dimensions-length and breadth and hence are called 2D shapes or figures.
3D Shapes: Shapes that have height or depth are therefore called 3D figures. Moreover, 3D shapes are made up of several 2D shapes.
