Example From Chapter 11 Mensuration 

Ques. A cylinder whose base radius is 7cm has a height of 20cm. Find the total surface area of the cylinder. 

Soln: The total surface area of a cylinder is given by: 2ℼr(r + h)

Given, 

Radius, r = 7 cm 

Height, h = 20 cm

Therefore, 

The total surface area= 2 ×ℼ × 7 (7 + 20) 

= 1188 cm2
