     Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University will not conduct Vellore Institute of Technology Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE-2020), instead, academic performance(Marks upto prefinal year) in regular undergraduate degree will be considered to offer admissions to candidates in its Master’s Programmes. The candidates who have appeared for GATE 2020 can apply with their GATE Score. VIT will prefer candidates with GATE score and direct admission will be given. VITMEE 2020 Application form was released on March 06, 2020.

    • According to VITMEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria, candidates possessing a full-time bachelor’s degree from any recognized institute with an aggregate of 60% marks can apply for the exam. 
    • The exam is cancelled and admissions will be done based on academic performance of the candidate.
    • GATE 2020 qualified candidates are also eligible to apply for VITMEE 2020 to secure a seat in the M.Tech course offered by the Institute.
    • Candidates with adequate GATE score will be given direct admission, irrespective of their academic performance.

    Candidates are required to pay an application fee of INR 1200 to complete the registration process. The Results will be available in the second month of July. Candidates will be called for counselling and seat allotment procedure after results are declared.

    VITMEE 2020: Eligibility Criteria

    VITMEE 2020: Eligibility Criteria

    Before applying for the examination, Candidates must ensure that they fulfill VITMEE Eligibility Criteria 2020. The eligibility is based on various factors such as Nationality, Qualifying marks, Academic Qualification.

    On the Basis of Nationality

    Candidate must be a citizen of India and have graduated from institutions located in India. Foreign and NRI/PIO applications are to be made separately. These candidates can visit International Relations Tab at VIT Website.

    On the Basis of Qualifying Marks

    • Applicants should have graduated (full-time degree from any recognized University/Institute) with a minimum of 60% or 1st class for MCA and M.Tech degree programmes.
    • Final year (final semester) candidates are also eligible to apply. They must have completed their final semester/year exams before the selection interview at VIT.
    • It is also must to produce a statement of final year marks and Provisional degree certificate before August 15, 2020, failing which admission will be cancelled with the forfeit of the admission fee.

    On the Basis of Academic Qualification

    •  For the candidates applying for M.Tech (Master of Technology) must have passed B.Tech/BE or equivalent degree from recognized University with 60% or First class in the qualifying examination.
    • Similarly for the candidates applying for MCA, must possess recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA, B.Sc (IT/Computer Science) with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or at the graduate level or should have obtained at least 60% or First class at the qualifying examination. 
    • Placement Requirements: Industries offering Placement at VIT have stipulated a minimum of 60% Marks for candidates in their UG programs and in class X and XII. A maximum of 2 years of the academic gap is permitted.

    VITMEE 2020: How to apply?

    VITMEE 2020: How to apply?

    Candidates can fill the application form either in online mode or offline mode. Also, the candidates need to fill and submit the application form before the last date i.e, June 20, 2020.  The process of applying for VITMEE 2020 is given below-

    1. Visit VITMEE official website, i.e. vit.ac.in.
    2. Click on the registration link.
    3. Submit the details like name, gender, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
    4. Log in using the newly generated User Id and Password.
    5. Submit the other details like academic details, personal details and upload scanned photograph and signature.
    6. Now proceed to fee payment. Payment of fee must be through Net banking/Credit/Debit Card or Paytm and submit the application form.

    Important Note

    • Please do not send a hard copy of the filled-in VITMEE application form.
    • Please retain the registered mobile no. and email id till the completion of the admission process.
    • During counselling eligible candidate can select the campus and branch of study as per the order of merit and availability of seats in any of the campuses.
    • Application Form Correction: Candidate can edit their online application contents except for Email ID., Mobile no. and correspondence address details until June 22, 2020 (Tentative).

    VITMEE 2020: Slot Booking Procedure

     After the online registration, candidates will receive an e-mail with a website link and the corresponding login credentials in the last week of May 2020 for VITMEE slot booking. It is must to book VITMEE Test Slot in the given time frame. 

    To book VITMEE slot, sign in with the login credentials and choose from the available options on test schedule and test centre. The slot booking will be done on FCFS (First Come First Serve) basis, subject to the availability of slot and seat.  

    In case of non-availability of slots, candidates may choose a slot in another center of their choice. After completing VITMEE Slot Booking, a confirmation mail will be automatically sent to the registered id. 

    Note: A test slot once booked cannot be changed. Requests for change of date, slot or exam center will not be entertained under any circumstances. 

    VITMEE 2020: Scholarships

    Vellore Institute of Technology offers scholarship programmes to students who want to pursue M.Tech (Master of Technology) courses in various disciplines at the University’s Vellore and Chennai Campus.

    • Monthly stipend of INR 4000/- for top six GATE Qualified Scores in each M.Tech. Program.
    • Top VITMEE / GATE scorers will get a stipend of 3600 Euros (i.e. INR 2.40 lakhs) for the double degree program in Communication Engineering from UAS, Darmstadt, Germany (under DADD fellowship) and in Sensor Systems from UAS, Karlsruhe.
    • For M.Tech (Nanotechnology) - Student Fellowship of INR 12,400/- p.m per student and a Contingency of INR 15,000/- p.a per student will be given for the first 20 students admitted to M.Tech Nanotechnology, provided by DST (Nano Mission Council).

    VITMEE 2020 Admit Card

    Once the slot booking process is over, Admit cards will be issued to the candidates in online mode. Candidates can download the admit card from it's official website, i.e. www.vit.ac.in. It will not be faxed or sent by post or mailed personally. The candidates must not try to mutilate the Admit Card or alter any detail. VITMEE 2020 Admit Card is not transferable to any other person.

    VITMEE Admit card will contain the following information:

    • Name
    • Registration number
    • Photograph
    • Signature
    • Postal address

    • Date of examination
    • Address of your test center
    • Test schedule
    • Set of instructions for the test.

    Vellore Institute of Technology will declare the result on June 08,2020 (Tentative) in online mode. On the basis of VITMEE 2020 Result, the candidates will be shortlisted for counselling and admission. The candidates who will appear for the exam will only be able to access their results by using their Application Number and Date of Birth. Candidates are advised to download their scorecard of VITMEE 2020 in PDF format and take a print out of the same for future reference. 

    Steps to download VITMEE Result 2020

    • Click on the official link to VITMEE 2020 result.
    • By clicking on the link, you will reach the result page of VITMEE 2020.
    • Log in using your 10 digit application form number and date of birth.
    • VITMEE 2020 result will get displayed on the computer screen.
    • Take some printouts of the result as candidates must carry it to the counselling procedure.
    GATE qualified candidates will be given preference on the basis of GATE scores for counselling and seat allotment over those candidates who only appeared in VITMEE 2020.

    VITMEE 2020 Counselling

    The counselling is likely to be held for MCA programme on June 20,2020 and for M.Tech Programme on June 21& 22, 2020. Candidates will be short-listed for counselling on the basis of their performance in VIT Master’s Entrance Examination (VITMEE) Rank. Attendance during counselling process will not assure admission since the seat allotment is based on the merit list and there is a possibility that some of the candidates may not get admission if the seats are filled before their rank/ turn comes.

    • Selected candidates should pay an advance fee of INR 11,800 as VITMEE Counselling Fee.
    • Only Computerised DD will be accepted payable to “VIT University”, at Vellore for the same.
    • The counselling fee is Non-Refundable, but it will be adjusted in the tuition fees once the candidate joins the University.
    • The candidate’s name will be removed from the admission list if they fail to pay the advance at the time of the Interview.

    Documents required for Counselling

    The following documents must be produced in original for verification while reporting for counselling. Candidates will not be allowed to participate in the interview without these documents:

    • VITMEE Admit Card 
    • Class X and XII Std. Marks sheet
    • Mark Sheets of all semesters/ years of the qualifying examination up to the pre-final/ final year as applicable
    • Qualifying degree / Provisional Certificate (If already received)
    • Transfer/Migration/College Leaving Certificate obtained from the Institute last studied (If already received)
    • Valid GATE score card for Candidates applying for M.Tech. (if applicable)
    • Service Certificate/ No Objection Certificate issued by the Employer. (For sponsored candidates for M.Tech. Programmes only)
    • Community/Category Certificate (only for SC/ST categories).
    • DEMAND DRAFT for INR 11,800, drawn in favour of “Vellore Institute of Technology”, payable at Vellore

    Only after verification of these documents, the candidate will be allowed to participate in the counselling. The seat and campus for a programme once allotted is final and cannot be changed under any circumstances.

    Ans. VITMEE fee has to be paid annually.

    Ans. You have to submit your original documents at the time of admission. They will be verified by the college authorities and then they will keep it themselves. The dates for document verification will be announced on the VIT website.

    Ans. No, there is no fee concession for any category candidates. Application form fee is same for all.

    Ques. Do I need to take a print out of my filled VITMEE application form?

    Ans. Although it is not mandatory to take a print out of the filled VITMEE application form, it is advised to take a print out of it for future reference.

    Ques. What are the documents that need to be uploaded to VITMEE application form?

    Ans. No documents should be uploaded with the application form. Only photograph and signature in the prescribed format should be uploaded.

    Ques. What should be the specification of photograph and signature to be uploaded in VITMEE application form?

    Ans. The size of the scanned copy of signature should be in between 10 KB to 200 KB in JPG/JPEG format (dimension 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm) and photograph should be is between 20 KB to 200 KB in JPG/JPEG format (dimension 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm).

    Ques. What will all documents be required at the time of VITMEE Counselling?

    Ans. Documents that will be required at the time of VITMEE Counselling are 10th and 12th marksheet, Graduation marksheet, Provisional certificate, valid GATE score card (if applicable), Category certificate, Transfer certificate, VITMEE admit card and a DD of INR 10,000.

    Ques. Will I be notified of my selection for VITMEE counselling?

    Ans. Yes, the authority sends SMS to the registered mobile numbers of candidates for the selection of counselling process.

    Ques. At the time of VITMEE Counselling, DD will be drawn in favour of?

    Ans. At the time of VITMEE Counselling, a DD of INR 10,000 will be drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’, payable at Vellore.

    Ques. Do I have to move out of Delhi for VITMEE Counselling process?

    Ans. Yes, for counselling/ interview process, you have to move to VIT Chennai and Vellore campuses.

    Ques. In which mode VITMEE result will be declared?

    Ans. VITMEE result will be published at vit.ac.in. Candidates can check their results by login to the official website and enter application number and date of birth.

    Ques. When VITMEE admit cards will be released?

    Ans. VITMEE admit cards will be released only after slot booking. Candidates will not get their admit cards before slot booking. Also, it is mandatory to carry the admit card to the examination hall failing to which, the candidate would not be able to sit in the examination.

    Ques. When will VITMEE slot booking start?

    Ans. VITMEE slot booking will be commenced from May 25, 2020 (Tentative) and it will be done on first come first serve basis. A confirmation mail will be automatically sent to the candidates after slot booking. After slot booking, only candidates will get their admit card.

    Ques. Is the eligibility same for foreign candidates applying for VITMEE examination?

    Ans. Foreign candidates and NRI/PIO can also apply but, a separate application form is released for them.

    Ques. How can I pay VITMEE 2020 application fee?

    Ans. VITMEE 2020 application fee of INR 1200 can be paid online via net banking or credit/ debit card.

    Ques. I am still pursuing the final year of my Bachelor's degree. Am I eligible to apply for VITMEE 2020 examination?

    Ans. Yes, appearing candidates can also apply for VITMEE examination provided you have to produce your passing certificate before August 2020.

    Ques. How will 100 questions be divided into VITMEE 2020 question paper?

    Ans. In VITMEE 2020 question paper; there will be 80 questions from technical subjects are there will be 20 questions from English Communication.

    Ques. What will all information be available on VITMEE 2020 admit card?

    Ans. VITMEE 2020 admit card will contain the name of the candidate, roll number, gender, category, photograph, test venue, exam date, timings and important instructions pertaining the examination. All the candidates appearing for the examination should read that information carefully and it is advised that the candidates should reach the examination hall at least an hour prior to the commencement of examination.

    Hi Venkatesh, candidates who have scored an aggregate of 50% are considered eligible for the course. Thus, 60% are not mandatory.
