The online application form for VITMEE 2018 has been released on February 22 at www.vit.ac.in. The exam is held for admission to MCA, M.Tech/M.Tech (by Research) and Integrated Ph.D programs in VIT Chennai, Vellore and Bhopal Campuses.

VIT Master’s Entrance Exam is a national level examination managed by VIT University (Vellore Institute of Technology). VITMEE is held for 15 subjects for admission in M.Tech and MCA. The exam is scheduled for June 2 – 3, 2018 in online mode. A monthly stipend of INR 4000/- for top six GATE Qualified Scores in each M.Tech. program.

Who can apply for VITMEE

Only Indian nationals who have graduated from institutions located in India are eligible to apply for VITMEE 2018. Foreign and NRI/ PIO applications are to be made separately. These candidates can visit International Relations tab at VIT website.

  • Applicants should have graduated (full-time degree from any recognized University/Institute) with a minimum aggregate of 60% or 1st class for MCA and M.Tech. degree programmes.
  • Consistent Record in class X and XII is required.
  • Final year (final semester) candidates are also eligible to apply.
  • They must have completed their final semester/year exams before the selection interview at VIT.
  • They must produce a statement of final year marks and Provisional degree certificate before August 15, 2018, failing which admission will be cancelled with the forfeit of the admission fee.
Placement Requirements: Industries offering Placement at VIT have stipulated a minimum of 60% Marks for candidates in their UG programs and in class X and XII. Maximum of 2 years of the academic gap is permitted.

Academic Qualification

M.Tech (Master of Technology)

  • Candidates must have passed B.Tech/BE or equivalent degree from recognized university with 60% or 1st class in the qualifying examination. 

MCA (Master of Computer Application)

  • Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA, B.Sc (IT/Computer Science) with Mathematics as a subject in 10+2 level or at Graduate Level.
  • Obtained at least 60% or 1st class at the qualifying examination.

Scholarships

  • Monthly stipend of INR 4000/- for top six GATE Qualified Scores in each M.Tech. Program.
  • Top VITMEE / GATE scorers will get a stipend of 3600 Euros (i.e. INR 2.40 lakhs) for double degree program in Communication Engineeringfrom UAS, Darmstadt, Germany (under DADD fellowship) and in Sensor Systems from UAS, Karlsruhe.
  • For M.Tech (Nanotechnology) - Student Fellowship of INR 12,400/- p.m per student and a Contingency of INR 15,000/- p.a per student will be given for the first 20 students admitted to M.Tech Nanotechnology, provided by DST (Nano Mission Council).

How to apply for VITMEE

Availability of Online Application Form: February 22 – May 21, 2018

VITMEE Application Forms is available at http://vtop2.vit.ac.in:8080/VITMEE/. The process of applying for VITMEE 2018 includes following 5 steps: 

Stage 1: New User Registration

  • Enter all the mandatory details carefully.
  • A login password will be generated from VIT to the registered mobile number and email id.

Stage 2: Confirmation of password

  • Sign – in by using email id and password received from VIT.

Stage 3: Filling online application form

  • Provide all relevant details carefully, before submission.
  • An application number will be generated after submission.
  • Refer your application number for all your future correspondence.

Stage 4: Uploading of Photo and Signature

The documents must be uploaded once all the details have been entered. The dimensions of both Photograph and Signature have been mentioned below:

  • Photograph Image: Size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb with the dimension of 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
  • Signature Image: Size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb with the dimension of 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm.

Stage 5: Payment of Application Fee

  • The application fee is INR 1121 which can only be paid through Netbanking/Debit/Credit Card.
  • At the time of the transaction, if the amount is debited please do not try to fill the new application form. Please wait for 24hrs and try for the payment once again using the same registered email id.
  • If the amount is not debited, you can try making the payment again.

Important Note

  • Please do not send a hard copy of filled-in VITMEE application form.
  • Please retain the registered mobile no. and email id till the completion of the admission process.
  • During counselling eligible candidate can select the campus and branch of study as per the order of merit and availability of seats in any of the campuses.
  • Application Form Correction: Candidate can edit their online application contents except for Email ID., Mobile no. and correspondence address details until May 21, 2018.

What is VITMEE Slot Booking

VITEEE Slot Booking: Last week of May 2018

Test slot booking is a web-based online scheduling system. After the online registration, candidates will receive an e-mail with a website link and the corresponding login credentials in the last week of May 2018 for VITMEE slot booking. It is must to book VITMEE Test Slot in the given time frame. 

To book VITMEE slot, sign in with the login credentials and choose from the available options on test schedule and test centre. The slot booking will be done on FCFS (First Come First Serve) basis, subject to the availability of slot and seat.  

In case of non-availability of slots, candidates may choose a slot in another center of their choice. After completing VITMEE Slot Booking, a confirmation mail will be automatically sent to the registered id. 

Note: A test slot once booked cannot be changed. Requests for change of date, slot or exam center will not be entertained under any circumstances. 

VITMEE Admit Card

Issue of Admit Card: Last week of May 2018

Admit cards can be downloaded from www.vit.ac.in. It will not be faxed or sent by post or mailed personally. The candidates must not try to mutilate the Admit card or alter any detail. VITMEE 2018 Admit Card is not transferable to any other person. Impersonation is a legally punishable offence.

VITMEE Admit card will contain the following information:

  • Name
  • Registration number
  • Photograph
  • Signature
  • Postal address
  • Slot
  • Date of examination
  • Address of your test centre
  • Test schedule
  • Set of instructions for the test.

The candidate should carefully examine the Admit card once received. In case of any discrepancy, it should be immediately reported to the concerned authority:

Applicants will not be permitted to write the test without a valid VITMEE Admit Card. The Admit Card should be presented to the invigilators at the test centre for verification. It should be preserved and produced if demanded verification at the time of Interview/admission.

What is the Pattern of VITMEE

Applicants must be aware of VITMEE 2018 Exam Pattern for qualifying the exam. The highlights of the exam pattern are as follows:

  • Mode of Exam: Online
  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Shifts: 2 (10 am – 12 noon and 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm)
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions
  • Number of Questions: 100 (20 – English Language and 80 – Technical)
  • Maximum marks will be 100. Each question will carry one mark.
  • There is no negative marking.

The VITMEE question paper will be held in 15 subjects for admission to M.Tech and MCA courses. The question paper for VITMEE 2018 will consist of two parts. Publication of Result

Publication of Shortlisted Applicants: June 8, 2018 (Tentative)

VITMEE result is the basis for shortlisting the candidates for counselling and admission. VITMEE 2018 Result will be announced in online mode. Applicants will be able to access their result by using their Application Number and Date of Birth. On the basis of the performance in the examination, students will be shortlisted for the VITMEE counselling.

Steps to download VITMEE Result 2018

  • Click on the official link to VITMEE 2018 result.
  • By clicking on the link, you will reach the result page of VITMEE 2018.
  • Log in using your 10 digit application form number and date of birth.
  • VITMEE 2018 result will get displayed on computer screen.
  • Take some printouts of the result as candidates must carry it to the counselling procedure.

GATE qualified candidates will be given preference on the basis of GATE scores for counselling and seat allotment over those candidates who only appeared in VITMEE 2018.

Candidates will be short-listed for counselling on the basis of their performance in VIT Master’s Entrance Examination (VITMEE) Rank. Attendance during counselling process will not assure admission since the seat allotment is based on the merit list and there is a possibility that some of the candidates may not get admission if the seats are filled before their rank/ turn comes.

  • Selected candidates should pay an advance fee of INR 10,000 as VITMEE Counselling Fee.
  • Only Computerised DD will be accepted payable to “VIT University”, at Vellore for the same.
  • The counselling fee is Non-Refundable, but it will be adjusted in the tuition fees once the candidate joins the University.
  • The candidate’s name will be removed from the admission list if they fail to pay the advance at the time of the Interview.

Documents to be produced during counselling

The following documents must be produced in original for verification while reporting for counselling. Candidates will not be allowed to participate in the interview without these documents:

  • VITMEE Admit Card 
  • Class X and XII Std. Marks sheet
  • Mark Sheets of all semesters/ years of the qualifying examination up to the pre-final/ final year as applicable
  • Qualifying degree / Provisional Certificate (If already received)
  • Transfer/Migration/College Leaving Certificate obtained from the Institute last studied (If already received)
  • Valid GATE score card for Candidates applying for M.Tech. (if applicable)
  • Service Certificate/ No Objection Certificate issued by the Employer. (For sponsored candidates for M.Tech. Programmes only)
  • Community/Category Certificate (only for SC/ST categories).
  • DEMAND DRAFT for INR 12,000, drawn in favour of “Vellore Institute of Technology”, payable at Vellore

Only after verification of these documents, the candidate will be allowed to participate in the counselling. The seat and campus for a programme once allotted is final and cannot be changed under any circumstances.

Ans. No documents should be uploaded with the application form. Only photograph and signature in the prescribed format should be uploaded.

Ques. What should be the specification of photograph and signature to be uploaded in VITMEE application form?

Ans. The size of the scanned copy of signature should be in between 10 KB to 200 KB in JPG/JPEG format (dimension 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm) and photograph should be is between 20 KB to 200 KB in JPG/JPEG format (dimension 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm).

Ans. Documents that will be required at the time of VITMEE Counselling are 10th and 12th marksheet, Graduation marksheet, Provisional certificate, valid GATE score card (if applicable), Category certificate, Transfer certificate, VITMEE admit card and a DD of INR 10,000.

Ques. Will I be notified of my selection for VITMEE counselling?

Ans. Yes, the authority sends SMS to the registered mobile numbers of candidates for the selection of counselling process.

Ans. At the time of VITMEE Counselling, a DD of INR 10,000 will be drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’, payable at Vellore.

Ques. Do I have to move out of Delhi for VITMEE Counselling process?

Ans. Yes, for counselling/ interview process, you have to move to VIT Chennai and Vellore campuses.

Ques. In which mode VITMEE result will be declared?

Ans. VITMEE result will be published at vit.ac.in. Candidates can check their results by login to the official website and enter application number and date of birth.

Ques. When VITMEE admit cards will be released?

Ans. VITMEE admit cards will be released only after slot booking. Candidates will not get their admit cards before slot booking. Also, it is mandatory to carry the admit card to the examination hall failing to which, the candidate would not be able to sit in the examination.

Ques. When will VITMEE slot booking start?

Ans. VITMEE slot booking will commence from the 4th week of May 2018 and it will be done on first come first serve basis. A confirmation mail will be automatically sent to the candidates after slot booking. After slot booking, only candidates will get their admit card.

Ques. Is the eligibility same for foreign candidates applying for VITMEE examination?

Ans. Foreign candidates and NRI/PIO can also apply but, a separate application form is released for them.

Ques. How can I pay VITMEE 2018 application fee?

Ans. VITMEE 2018 application fee of INR 1121 can be paid online via net banking or credit/ debit card.

Ques. I am still pursuing the final year of my Bachelor's degree. Am I eligible to apply for VITMEE 2018 examination?

Ans. Yes, appearing candidates can also apply for VITMEE examination provided you have to produce your passing certificate before August 2018.

Ques. How will 100 questions be divided into VITMEE 2018 question paper?

Ans. In VITMEE 2018 question paper; there will be 80 questions from technical subjects are there will be 20 questions from English Communication.

Ques. What will all information be available on VITMEE 2018 admit card?

Ans. VITMEE 2018 admit card will contain the name of the candidate, roll number, gender, category, photograph, test venue, exam date, timings and important instructions pertaining the examination. All the candidates appearing for the examination should read that information carefully and it is advised that the candidates should reach the examination hall at least an hour prior to the commencement of examination.
