The Otto von Guericke University is one of the youngest universities in Germany. The importance given to research opportunities and the practical application of business-related topics are the highlights of teaching here. The key areas of research here are the neurosciences, dynamic systems in process engineering and biomedicine, and automotive/digital engineering. In 2011, the University received the E-Quality Label for ERASMUS Mobility from the National ERASMUS Agency of Germany. Programs, Campus and Residence 

Programs

The top programs offered by the university are: Clinical Medicine, Engineering and Neuroscience and Behavior. Only the courses listed under study programs in English have English as the medium of instruction. It includes both bachelor’s and master’s courses in various subjects.

Residence

The university does not provide any sort of on-campus accommodation. Usually, students go for a shared room. Students also stay in residence halls which are located around the town. Single and double rooms are available which are fully furnished and equipped with dishes and kitchen utensils. 

Otto von Guericke University Admissions 

Students may apply to the university through Uni-Assist application portal.

Application Deadline: Summer – January 15, Winter – July 15 Some courses have different deadlines.

Specific requirements: Letter of motivation, proof of internship or placement, letter of recommendation, proof of having completed aptitude tests, GRE/GMAT score (if applicable).

Documents Required: University entrance qualification for bachelor’s courses, bachelor’s degree certificate for master’s courses, academic records, certificates, English and German language proficiency proof, copy of passport, visa.

Otto von Guericke University Scholarships

The students enrolling at the university can avail the benefits of:

German Scholarship

An amount of 300 Euro per month is granted. Students should meet the following conditions to be eligible for funding:

  • Those enrolled on a first, second or complementary course of studies, on a master's degree programs or a part-time in-service/dual degree course.

  • Those who are enrolled at Otto von Guericke University at the start of the approval period.

  • As per the German law governing, scholarship schemes (StipG) are enrolled at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg for at least two more semesters within the standard course duration for a course (including consecutive Master's degree).

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service)

It provides a database of more than 200 scholarships from where the international students select the suitable scholarships which are apt for them.
