AMU PhD Admission 2023 Open @amu.ac.in; Apply till October 31

New Delhi: AMU has started the application process for admission to its full-time PhD program for the academic session 2023-24. Interested candidates can submit their application form through amu.ac.in till October 31, 2023 to be considered for admission to the PhD program.

To apply for AMU PhD Admission 2023, interested candidates must possess a valid score in their master's degree in the relevant field from a UGC-recognized university.

AMU admits candidates to its PhD program based on how well they performed in the qualifying entrance exam. The interview round will be held for all of the candidates who have been shortlisted.

• Candidates must have a Master’s degree or its equivalent, recognized by a university in the relevant subject to their proposed field of research with a minimum of 55% aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in 7 point scale of UGC (or an equivalent overall grade if grading system is followed).

OR

• A 1-year/2-semester master's degree program following a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree program, or a 2-year/4-semester master's degree program following a 3-year bachelor's degree program, or qualifications declared equivalent to the master's degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% aggregate marks or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grading system is used.

OR

• M.Phil program with at least 55% aggregate marks or its equivalent grade on a point scale, whatever grading system is used.

OR

• A 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree program (including research) with at least 75% aggregate marks or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is used.

AMU PhD Admission Process 2023: Selection Criteria

Candidates who fulfill all the above-mentioned requirements can check the selection criteria mentioned below:

• Selection of candidates in Ph.D. programs will be made through an admission test comprising a written test and Presentation-cum-Interview (for those who qualify the written test and are short-listed for Presentation-cum-Interview).
• Candidates who qualify for fellowship/scholarship in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/ CEED and comparable National level tests with a score greater than or equal to the General Category qualifying marks valid at the time of admission are exempt from the written test. They must, however, be included in the presentation.To be considered for selection, you must complete an in-person interview.
• Foreign nationals are excluded from taking the written exam. To be considered for selection, individuals must attend the presentation-cum-interview in person or via video conference.

Step 1: Go to AMU's official application portal at amu.ac.in.

Step 2: Go to the homepage and click on the most recent AMU PhD Admission 2023-24 link. 

Step 3: Register yourself after providing all of the required basic information.

Step 4: Log in with the registration credentials you received via email and fill out all of the required information.

Step 5: Attach all mentioned documents in a prescribed format.

Step 6: Pay the required application fee and submit the AMU PhD Admission 2023-24 application form. 

Step 7: For future references, candidates must download or print a copy of the application form
