The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal has opened the Centralised Counselling for MTech Admissions (CCMT) 2026 Special Round. Registration and online fee payment started on July 14, 2026, at ccmt.admissions.nic.in. The last date to register is July 18, 2026, at 5:30 PM IST.
Choice filling for the CCMT 2026 Special Round remains open until July 20, 2026, at 5:30 PM IST. The tentative seat vacancy list was published on the official portal on July 13, 2026. Eligible candidates can now apply through the CCMT applicant portal.

Who Can Apply for the CCMT 2026 Special Round?
The Special Round is open to candidates with valid GATE 2024, GATE 2025, or GATE 2026 scores. Both previously registered CCMT candidates and fresh applicants can participate.
Only programmes matching the candidate’s qualifying degree and GATE paper will appear after registration.
The counselling covers admission to MTech, MArch, and MPlan programmes. Participating institutes include:
- National Institutes of Technology (NITs)
- IIEST Shibpur
- Select IIITs
- Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs)

Seat Vacancy for the CCMT 2026 Special Round
NIT Karnataka Surathkal released the tentative Special Round seat vacancy list on July 13, 2026. The list shows the seats remaining after the completion of the regular CCMT counselling rounds.

- Log in using existing CCMT credentials or register as a fresh candidate.
- Enter the required personal, academic, and GATE score details.
- Pay the registration and participation fee through the available online payment modes.
- Select the preferred institutes and programmes.
- Arrange the selected choices in the correct order of preference.
- Lock the choices before July 20, 2026, at 5:30 PM IST.
- Download and save the choice-locking confirmation for future reference.

What Happens After Choice Locking?
The CCMT 2026 Special Round 1 seat allotment result will be released on July 22, 2026. Candidates who receive a seat must accept the allotment and upload the required documents online.
The document verification process for Round 1 will close on July 24, 2026, at 5:30 PM IST.
The Special Round 2 seat allotment result will be released on July 27, 2026, for the remaining vacant seats. The final document verification window will close on July 29, 2026, at 12:30 PM IST.
The Special Round is the last CCMT chance to grab an MTech seat at an NIT or a CFTI. It fills vacancies left after earlier rounds due to withdrawals and non-reporting. Fresh GATE-qualified candidates can also enter counselling at this stage.
