Colleges affiliated to Delhi University have welcomed the fresh batch of students for the first time through online orientation because of the ongoing COVID 19 Pandemic.
The colleges of Delhi University shifted their orientation programme to the web and included some new elements that would be missing from the physical orientation.
The Hindu College is the first among the DU colleges to conduct an online orientation which was held on November 11, 2020.
Hindu college also added certain new elements that would not be present in a physical orientation.

Principal of Hindu College, Anju Stivastava stated that they showed the various aspects of college to the students which they would not show in physical orientation.
The students were also informed about the library and all the e resources available because it would be more important in the current situation.
"The counsellor also played a very big role. She spent a lot of time on what all issues they can face due to the online mode, and how and when they can reach her. We got tremendous response from students for that," stated Principal Anju Srivastava.
She further also said that the students were introduced to the disability unit, which in another case would be missing from the orientation programme.

The orientation programme of Miranda House is to be conducted today (on November 18, 2020). The institute has planned to give the students the nearest experience to a physical orientation.
The institute has planned to provide a virtual college tour along with other new fun things.
The first year students would meet the second year and third year students on their own usually but this year they will be provided with the email ID and contact numbers.
"I will also be holding office hours for students once a week. They will be able to contact me during certain hours. We should also be giving counselling sessions,” stated Principal Bijayalaxmi Nanda.
