New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi joined hands with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on October 12, 2023. WIPO has sponsored a DBT Bio-design fellowship for two international Fellows at IIT Delhi who will work on global health challenges. 

As per IIT Delhi, the memorandum of understanding was signed by Prof. Naresh Bhatnagar, Dean (R&D), IIT Delhi in the presence of Minister of State (IC), Ministry of Science & Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh; DG CSIR; Secretary DBT; and Secretary DST.

Prof. Deepak Joshi, PI of Bio-Design Program of Centre for Biomedical Engg. at IIT Delhi, and Prof. Sandeep Singh, Dept of Cardiology, AIIMS, and PI of Bio-design Program at AIIMS as well as other dignitaries from IITB, DBT, DST, and CSIR also attended the MoU signing ceremony.

In other news, IIT Delhi has launched the Winter School on Theoretical Computer Science. The institute will organize the four-day winter school to give students insights into various research areas within Theoretical Computer Science from December 11 to December 14, 2023. 

The winter school will include talks on a broad range of subjects, such as algorithms, computational social choice, communication complexity, security protocol verification, and more, given by a diverse group of faculty members.

In addition to this, it will include tutorials, interactive activity sessions, and opportunities for informal discussions with both faculty members and graduate students from IIT Delhi. The application window for the winter school program is open till October 31, 2023.
